I believe whichever team gets to two runs first will win. First game, one pitch was the difference. Second game, neither team looked normal with Coffee County making a bundle of errors and Lincoln County making an error and a bundle of walks. I think this will be more like the first meeting where one pitch, one error or one at-bat will be key.

A ball was hit into right center and the RF Zach Greer and Jackie were going full bore for the ball. Problem is both were at full speed. Greer is ok and remained in the game.

No doubt that collision was definitely nasty. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jackie and his family.

He has always said MTSU is the only place he would leave Shelbyville for. He turned down an opportunity to return to his alma mater once and wasn't about to do it again, especially with all of the talent MTSU has returning next season. As of right now Lincoln County and Coffee County are still on. However, the game has been moved to 6:30 p.m. and no junior varsity game will be played.

Wow, this has gotten out of hand. I hope the players don't let this one loss affect them as much as it has obviously affected their parents. Coach Ayers that is the perfect attitude to have. Keep on keeping on and good luck to you and your team the rest of the season. And if we play again, take it easy on us.

Can't we all just get along? We are all rooting for the same cause and I think we all want the best for the team. We just all go about expressing our feelings and opinions different ways. Some of us go a little overboard, but at least we all care enough to get on here and share our opinions. I thought the team played with more feeling and energy today. We just couldn't hit the ball. J.J. pitched well today. Keep it up big man. Keep your head up Boo. You will get another chance and I have no doubt that you will make the next play that comes your way.

I agree with what has been said. It is obvious some players do not care. When you have a player say "oh great another loss." (talking about an upcoming game) then you have a problem. It is time for the players that do care about the upcoming weeks to step up and take charge and get things in order, any way they can. Good luck this afternoon.

Tonights game will not be on the radio. However, the Wednesday game in Columbia will be on the radio.

That is the mentality to have. Do anything and everything you want just as long as you are successful at what you are doing and you don't get caught doing what you shouldn't be doing.

I will admit I thought the call was wrong, so I will say tough loss for Shelbyville. However, some very aggressive base running took you guys out of several innings. You just play straight up you probably win 5-3 even with the bad call. You should score more than two runs with 11 hits.

Looking at the radar, the rain appears to be pushed out of the area. So if nothing else pops up then they should be able to get the field ready before the 6 p.m. start time. Coach Jones said yesterday that Webster is still tender and will be a game time decision, but he doesn't expect him to play.

I never realized all of the other Murfreesboro schools were feeder programs to Riverdale. Keep your chin up athletes from Siegel, Oakland and Blackman. Maybe one day you can make the big show and play for Riverdale.

Wow, that pretty much summed it up in a nutshell. Not saying I agree with all of the aforementioned, but definitely on the right track.

What they need is to find a consistent defense behind Layne. Defense just looks different when he is on the mound or maybe it is because other teams aren't putting the ball in play on a consistent basis when Vincent is pitching. Either or there is a problem, but the problem is very fixable.

Caleb Layne will be starting tonight for Coffee County. Game could have been much worse as the Raiders left 14 runners on base.

There wasn't a single close call in the game. This one baffles me.

Caleb will remain the number two pitcher because he can throw strikes. The other pitchers have combined for 15 walks in 7 1/3 innings pitches.

Coffee's defense was atrocious. Franklin County rolls to a 12-2 win in five innings.
