Wow! I was thinking of Briarcrest. Saw them in the D-II, AA Clinic Bowl last year, and yes, very nice jerseys. Liked them a lot! That was going to bother me all night if I didn't figure that out.

Well I also recorded what could be considered "best chant." REBELS! REBELS! REBELS! Yes, yes, I know I am very obsessed, but oh well, I think it's ok to be totally enthralled (sp?) with your high school's football team!

Ah what a great question WB. I'd have to say Franklin's home jerseys are great. I love the black. But let me stray from FHS for a moment. Ah crap, well I can't remember who I was just thinking of. But whoever they are, they sure had great jerseys!

I personaly would have to say that Franklin has quite a nice one. I'm pretty sure it's original. For some reason I just don't like it when a high school uses Rocky Top or some other college's fight song. Brentwood's sounded pretty cool, heard it way too much, but sounded good. Thoughts? Comments? Want to tell me the late hours are getting to me?

Well who knows WB, the TSSAA may use them when they don't feel like using fractions to decide the playoff brackets! But no more of the inside joke, it's not good to do when everyone else can read it.

I'm currious as to if ANYONE besides you truly cares that much. This board is for TENNESSEE high school football. It may just be me, but I don't think a TENNESSEE high school football team played in California today.

Ravenwood state champs in four years? OK, when I'm a junior in college I'll remember to look for that Yeah, I do remember seeing several big plays made by Moore. It stinks that fans can't win a game. I often ask myself why I get SO into a game when it isn't that important (as I've said, last night was the first time I've ever seen fans influence a high school game). Thanks for giving us a Bruins perspective. And thanks for the credit you gave my Rebels. Good mark for you (mainly for not rubbing the victory in ).

Well I've spent a while on this so I hope I'm right... Brentwood needs to defeat Dickson County and one other region team (Kenwood or Henry County) to secure the region championship. Dickson County needs to defeat Brentwood and Franklin to secure the region championship. With that said, right now it looks as if week 9's Brentwood-Dickson County matchup COULD be for the region championship, BUT should Dickson County beat Brentwood and Centennial, Brentwood beat Kenwood and Henry County, and Franklin beat Dickson County and Kenwood...Franklin would be the region champs! That would be based on most wins because they'd all be tied in the region (FHS would be 9-1; BHS would be 8-2; D.C. would be 6-4). Ok, I actually have a lot more on how other teams make the playoffs but I'll save that for later. I'm just glad that Franklin still technically has a shot and am deciding whether to go to FHS-Kenwood or Dickson County-Brentwood in week 9. Wes, normally your remarks are intelligent. Well, don't take this as a personal attack or anything, but come on Wes! To pose a question like "Are the Rebels really that good?" Is it just me or weren't you saying last week stuff like, "Franklin's the real deal" "Franklin is really good" etc etc. Does one loss to a very good football team really suddenly put doubt on another very good team. Last time I checked, only one of the very good teams could win. So would doubt had been raised about Brentwood had they lost? I understand the drop in the poll, that's not what I'm upset about. But the things you had to say about Franklin really bothered me. Maybe I'm still just really upset though, so again, don't take anything I said personally, if you can understand at all. 27- I think wes's comments were right on. I too want to know what happened to their rushing game? All kinds of opportunities for draws and screens. Why didn't we try to take it up the gut with Cody. Delayed counters? Clearly we lacked balance. They are "that good" its just that they coughed up the ball against a team that knows how to take advantage of it. Their +16 turnover ratio corrected itself at the wrong time. Joe Bell and Justin Bradford stepped up nicely and kept us in the game. We can hold our own with them. Our pass D was good but it needed to be great. We'll see them again .....we'll be ready Yes, after a day to cool down from being soo upset, I guess I agree with you. My dad said the same thing about the running game. I personally felt that since Otey didn't seem to have it last night after the first two or three drives that we should have passed more, which we did and I was happy. I didn't really think about getting it to Cody on the ground. We probally should have tried that a bit more. I also was pleased with the return game. Bell and Bradford had great nights. The pass D was good, but why did they run down our throat all night? What was the problem there? Being in the student section, I couldn't see well enough to see where we broke down on certain plays. I'm with everyone else, a playoff game between these two teams will be awesome, and I hope we get to see it!

Ahhhh, my good friend, I knew you had some reason behind those questions. I see your point now, and I appologize for being so harsh with my last post. Yes, I am still quite frustrated.

I don't really consider making predictions (what I thought was a highly possible outcome) was smack talking. Especially since I'm just a fan. But I mean, you're right, I was totally wrong and deserve to be ridiculled about it, seriously. I should have been smart enough to realize that Brentwood would want the game as bad as the Rebels did and that it would be a close game. I hope both teams get an easy draw in the playoffs and get to meet in the quaterfinals (granted they finish 1,2). That way I can make a bit more sensible prediction before that game.

I hope you're right. If the kids that are zoned for FHS and CHS chose to go there instead of BGA, BA, CPA, etc etc it would make for a world of difference. We'd experience seasons like this a lot more often. That's obviously why Riverdale and Oakland can be so good in a county with numerous high schools. Privates don't really draw from their talent pool. I guess this would be more for the public/private board, but I figured I'd chime in with my two cents.

I should have responded to you earlier, my appologies. Thank you to you and Wes for the nice remarks. Your statement that the Rebels will be tough as nails has been on my mind all night actually (I haven't been able to sleep...is it bad that I'm that obsessed with high school football? I've been making playoff scenarios, figuring out the various ways FHS still wins the region ). I'll probally make a thread on that soon. But back to what I was going to say. I really think you're right. I think Franklin realizes "yeah, we can be beat, and we sure as heck don't want it to happen to us again." I wonder if the off week for Franklin is good or not. They do get to heal some players (although I heard that we lost a guy to an ACL last night). But it also gives the players time to dwell on the loss. They simply can't do that, and I'm sure they understand that. Well, off to try to sleep again.

haha, yes yes, call me a man of many picks, all wrong. how many different picks on the BHS-FHS game did I have? I believe three...45-14, 28-14, and 17-13. Yeah, all for Franklin. I was wrong. Isn't Wes amazing though with how close he typically comes? It's awesome. Wes knows his stuff. Thought I did, but this week proved me wrong, very wrong. HA, and I'm sure you can't sleep for the very opposite reason I can't: your team won.

Yeah, I agree the score could have been worse. But I have to disagree with you about the crowd noise. Franklin's fans (the student body at least) was deafening all night long. Yeah, how about that field goal call? Made me nervous. And yeah, there were some pretty big licks in this game. A ton of them actually, a ton.

Sounds like it was a great game tonight. Both teams scored touchdowns and made a field goal, but BGA missed their PAT. Anyone have any more details on this game?

That should be a good one...I was hoping it would be Monday at FHS, but oh well. I'll be senior shadowing at that time so I won't be able to. I saw ya'll play against CHS this past week though, nice little comeback.
