  1. How terrible this is to hear! You have the deepest prayers, thoughts, and sympathies of your neighbors in Franklin. There really are no words that can do this type of tragedy justice. May God be with the entire Independence community and especially the young man's family!
  2. I can smell the ice now! I've been up to Brandon to see the Lightning scrimmage a couple days now, and yeah, they're pretty dang good. Kariya sat out today in Nashville. Hopefully he'll be fine! Legwand hasn't been on the ice yet... that worries me considering our lack of depth at center. Glad to hear that Walks was on the ice today for the first time. Any of y'all been to Centennial yet or plan on going? I wish I had gone to a few days when I was still living in Franklin. It's much more entertaining then football training camp. Anyhoo... I'm just excited that hockey is truly back... GO PREDS!
  3. Yeah, they definitely should not be in the top ten. They shouldn't be in the top ten again until they've strung together several wins of a good quality. I'm gonna stay behind 'em... but man... come on, coach!
  4. I didn't see this last night... wow. BDD is one to speak his mind, but he's normally speaking right! I'll just say I'm real disappointed...
  5. YUP! Though of course, I'm a bit more concerned with us just beating Independence... but yes, go Bruins! Exactly what I was afraid you'd say...
  6. Disappointing? Most definitely. Devastating? Perhaps. Season-ending? No way. First, it's always been important to me to win with class, but also to lose with class. So let me extend my congratulations to the Fightin' Irish of Father Ryan. Not very many people believed you could do what you did last night. While yes, of course I thought this would be a victory going away for Franklin, there was something in my mind that was telling me "Lussier knows 5A football - don't be too confident." So congrats to y'all and here's to a good rest of the season for y'all. As far as recruiting or whatever... let's not go there. It's been rehashed time and time again on here and to many of us, it's just pointless. People won't ever agree and that's simply that. As for Franklin... I'm so very upset to hear of this defeat. FHS hasn't lost two consecutive games since the quarterfinals of 2002 and the season opener of 2003. Before that, I guess maybe the last two games of 2001? I'm not sure. Needless to say, we're not used to it! And frankly, I don't want to get used to it. If this team has the talent that people say they do, they simply should not have lost to Father Ryan. That's not taking anything away from the Fightin' Irish, but more being hard on FHS. Ultimately, it is up to the players to execute on the field. However... well, coach-bashing is frowned upon here, and plus, I am in Sarasota, Florida and not seeing what's going on in Franklin. But when BigDogDaddy says the Oakland victory was the ugliest win he's seen at Franklin in a while and then I hear Coach Clayton say during the pregame of the broadcast on whatever website the game was broadcasted on last week that he was very pleased with the Oakland game... well, I have more faith in what BigDogDaddy says. That was the first sign of trouble to me. That's all I'll say about that though since again, I haven't seen a game yet. Let's right the ship, Rebs. This was a non-region game so that's obviously a good thing. There are seven more games to play so let's go out there and get those seven in the W column. GO REBS!
  7. Well duh, he's a Brentwood Bruin fanatic... or so all us Franklin fans thought a couple years ago. I honestly don't think that he has a "thing" for any team in Williamson County. He has no investment really. His goal is no doubt simply to please his readers all over the county. And really, I think he does that just fine. And itzme, I didn't get that PM... could very well be that my PM box was full... my computer has been slow as Christmas recently so I haven't been doing too good of a job as moderator and checking the frequent reports.
  8. Well, here are the thoughts of someone who has seen all three - Doug Dyer from the Williamson AM in this morning's Tennessean: He also predicted a one-point victory for Ravenwood last week. Tough to say he doesn't know what he's talking about or that he's using bad logic... GO REBS!
  9. WesVols (11:55:11 PM): this is a sexy post i'm about to make WesVols (11:56:34 PM): posted Sooners2727 (11:58:36 PM): you are so coacht if you refer to a post as "sexy"
  10. No. Absolutely not. Who is? Simple. Brentwood Academy. Hooray Williamson County!
  11. Okay, FHSrebel27 the moderator has to step in now... let's try our hardest to keep it on Franklin vs Father Ryan, please.
  12. Umm... WesVols went to Brentwood Academy, not MBA. He is evidence that they are far from lacking in class.
  13. Hmmm... well, I always wanted to go over to Centennial and have some fun. They have these rocks at the north end of the field on a hill layed out to spell "CHS." I always wanted to go over there the Thursday night before the Battle of Franklin and rearrange them to spell FHS and spray paint them maroon. In my book, that would have been good-natured, rivarly vandalism. You could easily paint them back blue and put them back to spell CHS. If I had done it, I would have fully expected to be the one to be responsible for putting it all back together. However, to steal things and paint other surfaces and such... yeah, that's going way too far.
  14. Very true. I had forgotten about the CBHS victory last year. But if they're not going to win and they're not going to lose, what's going to happen? Of course, I'm just picking. Good health to the Fightin' Irish Friday night.
  15. And it might surprise you to know that I was a rabid BA fan for two of those victories...
  16. WesVols says a "successful" D-II program... who has won a state championship in D-II? I'm pretty sure Father Ryan has.
  17. I only declined to play simply because I haven't been around a computer. Now I shall decline to play because Rebelguy has a great point. I haven't seen a game, so what do I really know? Then again, what did I really know when I had seen games? I know you all know it, but I just want to say it again. I have nothing but the upmost respect for the Eagles. I wish them well... no matter how "good" I think they may be. And of course, GO REBS!
  18. Ummm... RHS = Ravenwood.
  19. Well, we at least agree on that. Oh well...
  20. The fourth and final playoff spot in Region 6 will go to Columbia Central or Dickson Co. There's no doubt about that at all. Centennial will stay in a couple games, but they probably won't win too many more. They'll beat NE and that may be it in the region. Consider especially that they have this stretch in October: AT Ravenwood AT Brentwood AT Columbia Central They then end the season at home vs Franklin. Yeah, good luck with that.
  21. Well, what happened to Franklin shying away from the privates? Glad to see a D-II AAA team on the schedule. Glad to see that Franklin should run away with this one, too. Thoughts? Predictions? Rants? GO REBELS!
  22. And I'm just saying wait to the end of the year. In 2002, BA beat Brentwood in Week 0 but by the end of the year, Brentwood was clearly the best team. I'm confident this will be the case this year with either Ravenwood or Franklin clearly being the best team in the county.
