Interesting... I think many would chose the Germantown semifinals game of that same year as the low point in play calling. I think I'll entertain myself by watching the DCHS game tonight though... Franklin hasn't unraveled or folded in any loss in the past three years, not even the BlueCross Bowl last year. That's definitely not going to happen. In fact, though I won't make a score prediction, I doubt tomorrow... no, it's tonight now, isn't it?... will be "The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down." (props to all of you who know this song... my father informs that all the bands [hint right there, eh?] used to play that when they played Franklin back in my dad's playing days) GO REBELS!

Kinda like the guy who comes into FYE on my third day of work. Only my manager was in the store with me, and he had stepped out to the food court (right next to us) to get his lunch to bring back and eat in the store in case I need his assistance. Well, this guy comes in to do a return. I tell the man politely that I can't do a return without my manager present, but that he'd return in just a moment so if he could just wait for a moment, we'd take care of him then. "Well, I'm on my break, too, so why don't you just open up the register and give me the cash and take care of the paperwork later?" I explained to him that I was relatively new and didn't know of a way to go around the system and that I wouldn't do that anyway. The manager must be present for that transaction. "So you're refusing to do a return?" I replied that no, I was not. "Then let's do it." I explained to him the manager needing to be there mess again. "Well, then I guess you can pick up the phone and call the police because you're being illegal. I'm going to get this store shut down for refusing to do a return for me. That's illegal in the state of Florida." I really didn't know how to respond to that. I was getting flustered, something that normally doesn't happen to me. Fortunately, after his legal ramblings continued a bit more, the mom in the family in line behind me offered to go get my manager from the food court. When he got in the store, the man was nice as could be to him...

I don't want to be driving in 45 mph sustained winds (or I'd rather be out on the beach...). Also, I'm glad I don't live in a flood-prone area... we could get up to TWENTY inches of rain! (Though, 5-10 is much more likely) Unfortunately, we don't need it at all. Nowhere in South Florida is below normal in precip for the year.

If Brentwood was the next week or if we had lost to Brentwood in the playoffs last year... I'd buy that. But I don't. Plus, Franklin doesn't look ahead. It's just not something they do.

What about the timeless victory over MBA in Week 10 of 2003? That wasn't a big win? And USA1- that better not be a shot at Pittman. He's one of the better defensive minds in the Midstate.

I'd only "love to see" BA lose because it would mean that a Region 6-5A team won. No other reason beside that.

I don't think so... in a game that BA tries to make time of possession a key stat by running the ball a lot: Brentwood Academy 17 Ravenwood 14 You can't ever rule out a Jack Pittman defense from rising to the occaision against a solid offense.

I'm assuming that idea didn't fly for some reason? That's unfortunate. Then FHS would not be on the map simply for it's good football, but also for it's... you'd have to give it some type of Franklinesque name... could have been a big hit.

So I bought a CD tonight at work, Keith Urban's "Golden Road." I was just scanning through the tracks on the way home and I get to "Song for Dad." A song has honestly never impacted like this one tonight. I'm sure I'm not the only son who feels what this song describes about "dad." So, to all of you lucky guys out there that we call "dad", I'm sure these words would mean as much as to your kids as it did to me tonight.

BDD will be able to reply to this a bit better but I'd say this probably had to do with a couple things: 1) The "new" offense was just that - new. 2) Franklin is pretty typically quite good up front; perhaps Riverdale was just that good?

The Coffee County..Crawford jiberish has to do with the fact that Brentwood opened with Coffee Coutny with whom Coach Crawford at BHS has connections. I think the person replied with who Franklin and Brentwood opened with because WesVols stated "Let Brentowod and Franklin play whomever" which does sound condemning in a way. It sounds like "oh, well they don't want to play us, but Ravenwood does." Of course, knowing Westopher as I do, I know he didn't intend it to sound it that way. We've had many a discussion about why Franklin plays who they play and why they don't schedule BA. Of course, my argument with that kinda went out the window when we scheduled the Irish of Father Ryan this year, but oh well.
