If you look at their record for the last 25 years they're about even. Lincoln County is ahead of Oakland and only a couple of games back of Riverdale. Lincoln County has won 2 of the last 3 against Riverdale. Riverdale won about 6 in a row before that . Things change. Murfreesboro keeps growing and their tallent pool keeps getting spread around. It would be illegal for one team to recruit now wouldn't it. Lincoln County will be competitive untill their is another high school built. Untill then some years will be better than others.

That was probably the 3 best teams in the state that year.

At 15 and 0 the 1990 team was definately the best. No other team will have a chance to get to 15 an 0 any time soon. They just refused to loose.

The Blanket Bowl? Is that the same as the Mid State Bowl? Fayetteville Central played in the Mid State Bowl in 1969 & 1970. I thought it was in Lebanon but I could be wrong. I do know this though. Central played Hillsboro in 1969 and Gallatin in 1970. They lost both games. All the players on both teams received blankets. Does anybody remember anything about this?

I wish both teams the best of luck and pray that no one is injured when all is said and done, and also that everyone gets to play.

Howard is a team that LC signed on to keep from having an open week. I don't think we have to worry about the Falcons getting beat. Howard is having a terrible year this year and are out of their league. The biggest problem that LC has to worry about is getting lulled to sleep and getting too over confident. Let's face it the Falcons are in the playoffs. They need to get ready. They need to stay focused. Teams that are having a bad year are not what we need to get ready. This will be like a open week. I hope everyone gets to play a lot. The starters need to go out and take care of business for the practice squad because they're the ones that have helped them get to where they are. Howard is probably stronger than Warren Co is at this point. I wish both teams luck in getting their teams back to where they want them to be, but it ain't gonna be this year against LC!!! That's just the facts!

I'll say this! The Cavs came into the Pit last year and put an old fashion, carry em out to the woodshed whoopin on the Falcons and I don't think anybody saw it comming. Especially after the Falcons had beaten Riverdale and Oakland. I hope the falcons learned a lesson. If they didn't they'll get another whoopin. And even though the players are mostly the same, I believe it's a different team.

Lincoln Co. could have been a very good team last year. They pretty much have the same team. The only difference is this team is more disciplined. This is just a fans observance. I for one could see some problems on the team that are not there now. Thank goodness. If Louis had anything to do with it I don't know. I know this though, he will give a kid every chance in the world to make something of himself, but some kids just can't be helped. This group of kids is a TEAM. They didn't have that last year. They are a lot more fun to watch and cheer for. Falcon fever is very contagious and when they're winning it gets to be an epidemic. This team can be something special. It's up to them. What a difference a year has made.

Lincoln Co's biggest let down could come at the end of the season. Right now they are on a roll and that should continue. Cookville is only 110 miles. 2 easy hours of driving. What I mean by end of season is after playing Howard and Warren Co., the starters will be off early in the show. This is not good when a team is trying to get ready for the playoffs.

My biggest question is when a team beats 2 of the top 3 teams, How can they remain 5 or 6 places above that team. It just doesn't make any sense.

I think your computer was absent that day the history lesson was given on Lincoln County. They are the only team in the 90's to win TWO 5a state championships other than Riverdale. LC has as many state championships as Riverdale. They are the only team to beat them twice in 2 years. They've been in the playoffs every year since 1991. What has Franklin done with their history or the other 5 teams in front of LC? I really don't know.

you need to take out an insurance poliy on that team in case something were to happen to them since they are the only team that you can beat.

Lawrence Co couldn't even win their district, whitch is pretty weak this year since Cody Hale and Dustin Lynch have moved on to college.

Bands are as much a part of High School football as the football team. They should be able to have their own section.

Statman, I just loved the way that Lincoln Co. kept the PA anouncer quiet for most of the night and he can be very obnoxous and they turned the lights out so fast we barly had time to get out of there. The scoreboard went off imediately, nobody was going to get a picture of visitor having more points than Riverdale. How sweet it was!!!

Riverdale likes to use artificial noisemakers to distract opposing teams. Such as air horns and cow bells. In college the fans can be penalized. What's the rule in High School? Air horns could be mistaken for a refree's whistle and could cause a player to get injured.
