Lipscomb will have to get out of there district first this year and its going to be much more challenging than in years passed. They have a good number 1 pitcher in Merry but after that it gets rough.

The game I saw them play this fall. All but two of their projected starters were in the game. One of their returning starting seniors hurt his leg playing football for sure and a few juniors (played football) that did not play much last year were playing on the football team but the other returning guys were playing. Those are the facts. They will be better than in the fall no doubt because they have a good coaching staff, but with the middle infielders, leftfielder, centerfielder and thirdman they are having to replace, repeating will take a lot of luck and a lot of good fortune. They are not anywhere close to as good as they were last year. To repeat with their pitching IMO they are going to have to strikeout everybody they face. I know that a fall baseball schedule doesn't equal exactly what's going to happen in the spring but I can assure you that if they do repeat going to the State playoffs in 06 there will be a lot of parents and coaches from the Overton team that will be very surprised, because they know it will take a miracle. Ravenwood will most likely win district 11aaa.

You must of seen them play this fall too? The group of guys they had this fall was pretty much their team I understand and when Goodenow did not pitch they looked like an average JV team. I hope they can pull things together this spring.

I thought we were talking about this year? I would'nt be surprised if Hillsboro or Hillwood doesn't beat Overton this year aleast once.

Overton HS will be third or forth in the district this year. They have a couple of good arms this year but their defense is suspect. It's not as hard to win games when you are relatively confident the offence is going to score 5 - 6 runs a game. That happened for them last year. Overton of 06 is not the Overton of 05. They will be lucky to get out of the district

You boys from East Tennessee always get your cart before the horse. I remember a team from East Tennessee (Farragut HS bunch) at Western Kentucky tournament a few years ago and they over looked all the competition just like you guys are now. The next thing you know you'll be two games and out.

TwittyBirdman, you know that those Clarksville boys will not quite. The big difference is neither do those Flatrock boys and Ricky is going to take care of business. My money's Overton. The only hope that Clarksville has is to keep Overton from scoring. A good pitcher can find there offensive holes and they have some. I have to believe that Morrison's a little nervious. Between Clarksville and Wilson Central, Clarksville has more experience. This is not Overton's fault but if you look at the last few opponents Overton has played, none have more than 3 starting seniors. Franklin has 2 juniors and 3 seniors and I think McGavock is younger still. Overton's got to prove that they can compete with the teams that have as much expereince as they have. Time will tell.

Clarksville has a very good team. I saw them play earlier this year. They are solid. Anyone know the final score between Clarksville and Hendersonville?

Franklin defeated Hunters Lane 8-1. If the Hunters Lane pitchers would have thrown the ball over the plate more the score would have been much worse.

I could not agree more with this post. The 11AAA just finished Tuesday evening. Overton's ball facility was packed. The must of had 400-500 people at every game. Football, basketball and baseball are all great sport, but you can't compare them to one another. They are all so different.

Franklin HS defeated Ravenwood 3-2. Steve Liddle had 3 RBIs and a walk-off single to score the winning run from third in the bottom of the 7th. Overton won the Championship game 10-9. Good luck to both teams.

What was the outcome of the game last night?

Ravenwood 6, Centennial 3. Centennial look tired. IMO - The game was not played with much energy by either teams. In a couple of weeks a lot more folks will be thinking about the 11th district because, Overton is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Franklin or Ravenwood have much better pitching staffs than anyone in the 12AAA district teams.
