  1. Ron, meet me at Outback in Murfreesboro on your birthday next year.
  2. Of course I am. If you'll remember correctly, 2000 was supposed to be a rebuilding year in Alcoa. Turns out, the seniors pulled together and pulled the TEAM together and realized that there was a lot of talent up and down the board and won 15 ballgames. Your team can do the same. Last year's Alcoa team should have had a 9-1 regular season. You've gotta believe.
  3. You kids are doing too much lobbying for your new head coach. Just take whomever you get and work hard every day and you'll be a state champion, I guarantee it.
  4. I'm sure Oak Ridge would love to give that nutcase away without having to fire him on grounds of incompetency.
  5. See 2000 2A State Championship game for further information regarding the speed vs. size discussion.

  7. Week TWO is an L for Sweetwater!
  8. Fulton ended up winning by about 10 or 12. Great game, though. The score really isn't indicative of how the game was played.
  9. I hope, man. Maybe this time we can get a good draw. It seems every time we go to the state tournament, we get like the number one seed to play first. But, if you're gonna make it in the tournament, I guess you'll have to play the number one seed sooner or later.
  10. Alcoa beat Austin-East tonight by 12 in the semi-finals of the regional tournament. This makes the first time in seven years that A-E hasn't made the state tournament. Alcoa isn't bad for a first year coach who people said couldn't make it, even when losing all starters from last year's state tournament team. Good job, Tornadoes and good luck in the substate.
  11. GovMan and Mr. Wing-T, I don't appreciate the fact that you are dogging the Marshes, especially the allusion to the fact that the current head basketball coach got the job because of his last name. The head coach they tried to hire is now in trouble at a Knoxville school. Coach Marsh also lost the entire starting five from last year's State Tournament team, including an all-stater in Gregory Martin (excellent football player, too).

Stability, GovMan? Alcoa NEEDS stability. And stop throwing around false rumors to get things stirred up, you could cost someone their job sooner or later.

Again, you're showing your ignorance. How many high schools does Jefferson County have? After you're done counting...list the number of high schools in Knox County. The population to high school ratio is less than Jefferson County, thanks.

I played at Your Momma High School in Screw Off, Tennessee. I don't know much, but I do know that Jefferson County definitely cannot rally around its football team. And for you Einsteins out there, Knoxville has limited 5A schools because the county isn't consolidated, such as.....Jefferson County?

Why don't you guys just go hold hands somewhere in a park? Meadows just gets lucky on running into talent, and anyone who takes a job at Jefferson County is crazy. By the way, the KIL represented well in the past years (Fulton, A-E, Central, Powell all at least qtrs last couple of years). All Jeff. County message threads need to be stopped as soon as possible to avoid further embarassment.
