  1. Unsure if it’s being reviewed or not? It’s just speculation.
  2. Agreed. Especially with the way the brackets will set up. The best two teams in Region 6 are Beech and Hillsboro and they will be in the same bracket with Shelbyville. Meanwhile, Summit basically has a cake walk through two rounds. Too bad Gallatin and Hillsboro did not play to determine to 2 seed from Region 6 in a fair way. In my opinion, Hillsboro would beat Gallatin by three touchdowns.
  3. I agree that Shelbyville may not have the defense yet to make a huge run, but they have improved. In the playoffs when the weather is cold, though, that rushing attack is going to be tough to handle. Just keep in mind that they are set up for the playoff-type games and they are dangerous. It's too bad Summit and Shelbyville did not play...that would have been a knock down-drag out battle! Who knows? They may meet in the quarterfinals yet again.
  4. Agree. I think that's the key. Most players did not leave the bench area. So, they all should not be punished obviously. In addition, Shelbyville had 16 players at home quarantining. If the benches had fully cleared, the situation would probably be different. But most of the coaches and the officials at least kept the majority of kids off the field...not all of them of course. A bad incident for sure, but it could have been way worse.
  5. From what I’ve heard, all the reports have been turned in and there is not a lengthy video of everything. More than likely, the decision of the officials will stand and the schools can take additional action if they choose.
  6. Beech and Summit I’m sure. Don’t sleep on Shelbyville and that running game.
  7. Contact tracing protocols shutting perfectly healthy kids down are unbelievably ridiculous. Meanwhile, the kids who test positive are perfectly fine in a day or two...zero hospitalizations. How will the schools/athletics treat the flu going forward?? It’s way worse on kids.
  8. Is he hospitalized? So contact tracing shut it all down as always correct?
  9. Green Hill has a good chance to go win this one. I’ll say 28-20 Hawks.
  10. Well said!! Control and fear/panic is a microcosm of society leaders in a big way across our country in an election year no less. Maddening!
  11. They won’t ever get a dime from me either! It’s a pathetic product.
  12. Yep, logic is completely out the window at this point! You have health department officials watching video of cafeterias and school buses to make random decisions on who might’ve been exposed. Completely healthy kids who never show symptoms and this a virus that doesn’t negatively affect kids really at all. It’s all a subjective, nonsensical approach just because they are smarter than everyone, know what’s best, and want to prove they are “making things safer”. It’s insanity in every way! Just think about the flu going forward...much, much tougher on kids! We have quarantines and shutdowns and contact tracing to look forward to forever...or maybe not once the election is over??!! Pure political and absolute nonsense!
  13. Marshall County should win handily! Let's go with 31-16. They are the better team this year. It will put them in the opposite bracket of Tullahoma and set up a huge quarterfinal game in Tullahoma for the chance to host Elizabethton (in all likelihood) in the semifinals.
  14. In this strange and absolutely nonsensical year with nutty protocols, they may have to opt for this unfortunately. Kids are already getting crushed emotionally with these decisions by genius leaders. In this crazy situation, all options must be on the table. Sad but true.
  15. He got pancaked the play before! Thus, the chaos began with the next play. Frustrations were certainly very high. No question. I assume those two had been going at it for a bit. The helmet got ripped off after what you described...then the blindside wipeout. There were plays before that led to it obviously.
  16. Interesting into the second quarter...and then that’ll be about it unfortunately. Too many athletes at Oakland. Warren County can’t score near enough points to hang. I’ll go with 42-7 Patriots. Possible running clock late.
  17. I hear ya. Every situation is different however. The benches did not clear in this particular situation...or even close! Some guys left the sidelines but most did not. That’s a difference maker. Also, there is no real video available. More than likely, the decisions by the officials will stand in this case. After the chaos, they actually got the ejections right too.
  18. Stewarts Creek gets hit with these horrible protocols at the worst possible time...and may miss the playoffs! Unbelievable insanity continues!!! The emotional toll this craziness will take on our students will be felt for years to come. Extremely sad.
  19. I think you are wrong. Probably one of the most mentally tough teams out there ...and well coached! Tough combination to beat.
  20. As with a lot of issues and rules, the TSSAA just typically stays status quo and has little to no vision on things like this. Way behind the 8-ball on something so simple to adjust!
  21. Correct. I truly hope they change this horrible tiebreaker rule of using non-region games to break ties. Teams play a wide range of non-region schedules and it’s about as unfair as it gets. Use region games only to break ties!! If three or more are tied, use point differential or points allowed in games with the tied teams. You can even use just the first half point differential or points allowed, if they are worried about running the score up late in games. Typically, with tied teams in regions though, those games are tight and extremely competitive.
  22. Are you serious? What does this even mean? Losing to Catholic will have zero affect on making their way through the 5A playoffs. Zero. The Division II-AAA is basically semi-college level football. It’s no shame whatsoever in losing to Catholic and, to be honest, it probably will help them moving forward. That strong competition will benefit them and they won’t see a team near as good the remainder of the season.
