What if.............who cares. It was just about 4 or 5 years ago when M'boro still only had 2 highschools Oakland and Riverdale and what did they do in basketball? Nothing special, let me remind you. Imagine if it was still like that.........let me guess you all think they would dominate 7AAA well they did not 4 or 5 years ago and I don't think they would now.

The Boro teams are not going to take 1-4 I mean honestly........no way this year. If they are going to do that it would have to be in the next 2 years though probably. The Boro is probably about to add another high school so in 2-3 years look for the boro to make up their own district with Wilson Central and Lebanon joining them. Don't get me wrong the district is still very tough but can you remember what it was like just 3 years ago when it was just Oakland and Riverdale and they got to pick from ALL the athletes. There is enough to go around but the expansion has helped other teams for the short term probably. There are so many kids in the Boro though it will equal back out soon enough and no one will be an easy W in distrcit 7AAA.

I would say that White Co. should win the district, and I think a lot of people would agree. However, if you know anything about district 7aaa it would be a safe bet to say there is no clear cut favorite. Cookeville is tough and Warren Co. will surprise some MORE people besides riverdale. I haven't seen any other teams yet but I'm sure Oakland and Riverdale will cause more problems for those other teams as the year goes along.

Some of you really do not know what you are talking about and some of you don't know basketball. I mean honestly you think Natalee Anderson shouldn't have started. Thats out in left field. Talent when you see it huh? Right, she was the heart, soul, and brain of the team. She didn't score 15 every night but inconsistent? That leaves me dumb founded. I'd gurantee her 3pt percentage was the highest or 2nd (maybe Lewis) on the team. She played hard every second she is on the floor. You start her over Anderson and Sparta wins 8-10 fewer games this year. YOu start her over April and you move Anderson to the point and then you take away our most consistant shooter because Anderson didn't look for her shot enough anyway. Its bad when you sit here and say someone didn't give a full effort all the time on the floor but you say its ok. Get something straight though I love Hannah and she was big time D1 POTENTIAL. Which means what?? Absolutley nothing without the work ethic, mind set, and other intangibles (sp?). That was Hannah's weak points. She was so good she realied on that and didn't always put forth the effort in games and practices that she could have. You can do that and put up huge games like she did but if anyone was inconsistant it was Hannah and I hate to say that. I think we will hear from her again though, she is a great kid and I hope she works things out and she gets back on a court some how. I promise you one thing though, Hess wanted to win bottom line and he played the players that gave him their best effort. Coaches don't decide playing time, players do. Oh yeah and for the talent scout that said Lewis was JUCO at best, you need to tell those D1 schools sending her letters that. I'm sure they would be upset at Georgia Tech, ETSU, and those other D1 schools when she showed up and was a JUCO talent.

I want someone to answer my question. Who would you have started Hacker over last year? People keep saying she should have started, well lets hear who she should have started over. I want to hear this one, instead of just saying she should have make your case.

It is definantley going to be a big loss for the Warriorettes. Hackers potential was just unbelievable, she could have really been great, with the right work ethic of course. I don't think she should have started last year though. I mean who are you going to start her over? You can't start her at the point guard, the pg from last year was good too, sheis going to roane st. to play probably. You couldn't start her of Natalee Anderson.....she was the heart and brain of that team and a GREAT player. So that leaves Lewis and I don't think anyone is going to say not start her, she's obviously a mid major talent if not a major. There is enough young talent that the Warriorettes will be fine though. Sad to see her go though.

The White County girls will reload and try to make another run this year and for the next few years. They lost 2 soon to be college signees in April Hickok and Brittany Farley. They lost their MVP in Natalee Anderson. They have a great amount of Talent in all age groups. They got size, speed, shooters. They got a good coach on top of it all. Just hope its enough to get outta the hardest region in the state (AAA).

Where did someone hear that Hess applied for another job? Did he apply for a girls or guys position? I really doubt he would apply somewhere right now, his team is loaded for the next few years and his son is going to be a senior. So I doubt that happened. Benchcoach- competition wasn't to tough

Come on now, you are getting a little carried away on thoes sensations. Best PG in history? Are you serious? You are aware that Brent played the point guard right? Gwynn fast for a big man? How big is he? 6'2'' is being generous but I'd list him at that. That isn't big at all though. However, I agree that they could be a very good team. They have a ton of potential and athleticism. However, they need a ton of work at the present time. I wish them the best and I hope they are the group to get back to M'boro (well I wish every year they would).

I don't know why Brey would be considered for any positions really. I think he's a great guy and not a bad coach but he has never done anything to my knowledge. I don't know much about his earlier years but at Jackson Co. he had a world of talent and didn't do anything with it. They should have been in the state tournament 2 years at least. Greg Bibb at Van Buren Co. been there one year made it to the regional tourney with little talent. He'll have them looking good in their district if he is still there 2 years from now. Mike Buck always seems to be looking around this time of year and may be my pick for best coach in the state.

I"m happy to say I agree fully with you on that comment benchcoach. The 4th quarter has been the killer for White Co. this year. In order for them to go as far as they are capable the coached and players are going to have to step it up in crunch time. Nice point benchcoach

White Co. should beat blackman tuesday night. The only thing blackman has in their favor is the game is at home. I don't think their team speed is better than White Co. I don't even think it is as good for that matter. Their post game I don't think is as good as White Co. either. I mean Blackman is very capable of beating good teams they have shown that but White Co. is a better team and should win. After that though the district will be a toss up I think. Cookeville, riverdale, or White county all being as capable as the other to win it. I think oakland could sneek in their possibly but they are not as good as the previous 3 mentioned.

Cheerleaders don't have as long as an off season? If you have a good work ethic and you have a real desire to play a sport than you have no off season. Maybe two weeks off, then back in the gym,field, weight room. THen all the summer camps and summer practices. I don't believe in an off season.

Cookeville better not come in and over look blackman though that is for sure. I have not seen blackman look impressive at any time this year but I'm bout positive that blackman has beat Riverdale 2 outta 3 times this year (christmas tourney). So they must be capable of playing good basketball. I doubt Odom will let them over look them though with it being a big district game really.

EastTnFan- You tell us who all Volunteer has lost two. They have lost twice to DB who is just honorable mention. They have 17 wins and you have told us who all they have lost to. Make a case for them by telling some people some good teams they have beaten. Its just that DB is honorable mention and Volunteer hasn't' gotten past them yet, so I can see why they are not gettign any love. Dog11- you have got to be kidding me. He has been the best player in the uppercumberland for the last 4 years? Thats not even close. Mario is a great player and what has helped him more than anything is the playing time he got when he was younger. Cause when he was a sophmore the district was probably the toughest in the state and he was playing against great competition night in and night out, which by the way was a lot better than him. I know Mario personally so don't think i'm hating. Just giving you the facts. The district is down and basketball in general is down right now. That is great for mario cause he was able to compete when it was a lot tougher, thats why he excels so much now cause he was playing against much better players when he was younger. I like watching him play though he is a good player, I've been saying that since he was a freshman though. Another reason he scores so much though is because who else on that team can help him? There isn't any one else that can put up many points on that team so he has to. He is definantley capable. Is he the best in the Upper Cumberland.........yeah I'd say he is. I haven't seen the tate kid from York though this year, he was a great scorer when he was younger. Don't know what he is doing this year, not much I guess cause I don't here bout him. So I say mario for sure right now.

White County has a few very talented sophmores. Right now they are led obviosly by Hannah Hacker. Who is capable of being one of the top players in the state next year. She just has to improve her work ethic and attitude. They got a lot more talent that hasn't been seen though since they have some experience this year. Cole, Henry, and Agee are all going to be good players. Cole and Hacker could be great. Benchcoach who should she start over right now? Hickok? Anderson? Lewis? I don't think so at all. Hannah is the only the slowing herself down right now, but will be a great one with some maturity. That Redus girl from cookeville will be a great one. I think her playing out of position this year will help her because she is going to need to be a three in college. I love her game and work ethic though. Remember that Cole girl though from White Co. got a killer work ethic.

I consider myself to be a huge critic of Slatten's and of any coach at White Co. for that matter though. I get on here and say exactly what I think and I do it without any bashing. I have been on Slatten all season saying he isn't getting the most out of all his players and I still don't know if he is getting the best out of them yet. However, like I said I am a critic not a Slatten hater so I'm happy to give credit where it may be due. I'm happy to say that it seems like the guys are improving some right now. I watched the riverdale game and thought the guys lost by bout 18 they were not outta the game till bout the 4th. I was happy to see that Riverdale had far superiour athletes at most positions but we were still able to play with them, and I think could be capalbe of beating them. I know they lost to Lebanon but they played them closer than most people thought. I wasn't there for either game this weekend but like I said it seems like Slatten may be slowly moving in the right direction. Now we just have to see if its the coaching getting them there or simply the players improving. I hope its both! Good luck the rest of the season. One more thing-like I mentioned riverdale had some great athletes (england especially). That coach really needs some help cause that potential isn't being touched.

Just to clear it for everyone really fast, Drake is not the team doctor. Chris Jones is the team trainer and takes care of all their medical needs. Drake keeps his stats on a note pad, then I think his wife keeps the official score book. Its like someone said though, who cares bout the stats and doctor though. Lets try to get some more wins and keep improving. Only stat that really should matter to a team is that W.

Yeah thas cute. First off I have never said anything bad about a player, only the truth about where they stand. I have NEVER bashed a player. Don't even get on here and tell me not to make negative comments about the coach. My comments do not use words to bash a coach. I simply state my opinion on if I think the coach is doing his best or not. Benchcoach on the other hand repeatedly bashes Hess. Let me tell you though don't get on here and talk about my life. Do you know me? Do you want to? THen don't talk about my life. I'm not talking bout yours am I? Let me tell YOU what this board really doesn't need. It doesn't need people like you coming on and making comments that pertain nothing to basketball and only to the people talking on the boards. Thats good benchcoach. YOu are wrong though he has played 4 good teams. Don't forget campbelle Co. Georgia. That team had more talent than any team they have played thus far by a long shot. Its like I said on the boys board this morning also. You said you were voting for me to take the boys job if Slatten is gone, then you got my vote for the girls team if they do not go undefeated the rest of the year and win the state title. I mean that would me the only thing Hess could do to prove he is a good coach to you isn't it. I'd love to see how you would put him down if that happened. Cause I know you would come up with something. You should have seen that Campbelle CO. game, we were far less talented and some say we were less talented then Jackson Co. so does that mean we had good coaching? Nah surely not, just good ole luck right? Man you think the guys could get some luck playing all these weak teams from single A and double A. "Its STUPID to blame a coach for every loss" I believe you said that right? I dont' even like talking to you anymore you just avoid the questions I ask. What about that untalented team you mentioned, that sent six girls to play college? You think they are still untalented and do you think we have more talent when you only listed 4 of our girls you thought would play. How do we have 4 girls able to play college ball when Holland had 7 on a team go play D1 (not previously mentioned team) and we are more talented. You said it, so stand behind it and prove it......or let me guess you can't? Then quit giving out that terrible information.

I gotta question for everyone on here that keeps up with White Co. basketball. As most of you know a lot of the players get on here and read what is talked about, but very few of them post. HOwever, most of them have a decent idea of who does post on here. What kind of example would it set for the team if one of the coaches got on here and argued back and forth with us fans? Do you think that is an appropriate action for a coach? I'm just wondering cause I"ve HEARD there might be one among us. Maybe its only hear say but if I hear that I bet the players do. That would set a terrible example for the team to see their coach argue back and forth with fans don't you think? I mean you would think they got bigger problems on their hands at this point wouldn't you? Just thought I would ask others opinions on this matter, maybe it would be alright for a coach to go back and forth on here. benchcoach- I tell you what I'll coach the guys next year if you coach the girls? You think we could get a package deal or something from Haley? I mean hook it up i'm ready when you are.

What all players for Jackson Co. were better than the players for White Co. With the exception of #44, Jackson Co. didn't have a kid I saw that would start for our team. Hey layup, you are on the inside to say the least, who would start for us from Jackson Co.? I mean anybody answer, other than #44 maybe one kid the little shooter would start but who knows where at on out team. Yeah Jackson Co. is full of talent.....right

layup- I refuse to comment on the Grundy Co. game. I was kind of sad to see that we had invited them. Should have brought the middle school team up or let your JV play them. Why don't you tell us what Grundy Co. will achieve this year or has ever achieve. So you know who I am do you, man you sure i'm not that reporter. Thats cool you want to call me out and put my initials on here. I've known who you are for 4 months and havn't called out your comments on here. You get on here and act like an uninformed fan or something......maybe that is why we are struggling cause our uniformed fans on here are also sitting and coaching our boys.
