Was watching Oak Ridge Farragut game and Packer's gang mentioned three famous players who had played on that field, two of which were Heisman Winners. Spurrier of course was one of the two Heisman winners and I could swear they named Red Grange as the other? He played high school ball in Illinois; did he actually play in Oak Ridge during that time? I could swear that is one they mentioned. Can't remember the third player they named.

If kids are D-1 worthy they are going to get noticed playing a half or a full game. What good is padding stats against an overwhelmed team? Maryville is able to two-platoon practically every year because of the depth that is built by playing as many as possible whenever possible. And the point of Quarles doing it to make himself look better? Ridiculous; I think it is the coaches running the score up that are trying to do that. Not to mention unnecessary injuries that could occur while they are "being noticed".

I think it was 7-0 Maryville but not sure. We turned it over inside the ten and missed a wide open receiver on a post. Defense did play really well. I's may have been in on the first second half score. I was leaving and on my way out. Real game format; punts and kick offs but no returns.

If it happened in the Hillsboro game it was the most recent. Not sure the score at half. 2004 Melrose for sure. That was a 7-6 game and scoring was in first half. One of those two games probably.

I think Alcoa by a minimum of 3 scores. As good as the front four is; the linebackers and secondary get overlooked but are very solid. If CPA turns it over some it gets ugly.

To be honest I didn't even know about the overtimes. It was 31-28 at half when I went to bed and I am not arguing, I could really care less. I can tell you this though I did see the first half and there was not a lick of defense played and in my opinion you can not explain it off totally on the superiority of the offenses although they were both spectacular. By the way, the defenses came out to play a little bit in the second half of this game. Yep, if my math is right BA gave up 28 points in the first half but held them to 27 in the second.

I saw it live and thought it was a block in the back but seeing the video yes, it was a hold and he eventually slung 14 down by the arm. Ironically when their coach was listing questionable calls and no calls after the game he failed to bring this one up.
