  1. Could you give me the rest of the matchups, times and where these games with Brentwood, Centennial, and Hickman are being played?
  2. Beech or Wilson Central have to be the favorites, but anyone can win in this league on any given day except Smyrna. Hendersonville, White House, and LaVergne could upset somebody. Mt. Juliet and Gallatin are the outsiders here. After losing to Hendersonville early last week, Beech had good wins over Gallatin, Father Ryan, and did not give up a run on Saturday winning the Lexington Catholic Tournament in Kentucky. Wilson Central has been solid all year as well so it is going to be a good tourney. Just about every team still has at least 2-3 district games to play this week so the seeding will not really be known until Thursday night.
  3. Who won the following games and give some game details if you have them: Gallatin vs. Beech Mt. Juliet vs. Wilson Central Hendersonville vs. LaVergne White House vs. Smyrna
  4. Beech has an awesome record at 22-4, with 3 of their 4 losses coming by only 1 run to Soddy Daisy, Riverdale, and district rival Hendersonville. They are 9-1 in 9AAA but do they have the tools to go to the state this year? 9AAA is tough not to mention Rossview, Dickson Co., Cenntennial, and Brentwood. What does everyone think? I think it is anyone's ballgame. Whoever gets the timely hit or does not make the costly error.
  5. Hendersonville started out slow 4-12 I think, but looking at their schedule they have really stepped it up going 15-5 in their last 20 games. Also they had huge revenge wins in 9AAA over Beech and White House back-to-back. I think they have to be reckoned with as a serious contender in the 9AAA tournament. Who is hotter right now Wilson Central or HHS?
  6. White House started the season on fire. It seems they have fizzled out a little bit here lately. Are they going through a slump or is something going on with them?
  7. I have seen that Mt. Juliet is doing quite well after several girls left the team. I new Susan but not the other two. Did another pitcher quit as well and if so, who is doing the load of the pitching for the team now?
  8. I hope the Coffee County express is really rolling. I know they have lost a lot of games to the "Big Time" teams. They seem to only be knocking off the "Lesser Opponents". It could make that region very interesting if they can step it up a notch in the next two weeks and get some quality wins. What do you think?
  9. I would like to give congrats to Coach Griffin and the HHS squad as well with a great win in 9AAA. I am telling you people this is a tough district. I know that Rossview, Dickson County, Centennial, and Brentwood loom in the region and substate but you have to come out of this district first. Beech and Hendersonville did it last year, but White House and Wilson Central have stepped it up this year. Also never count out Mt. Juliet, Gallatin, or LaVergne. What happened today is a sign to everyone that any team can win on any given day. You have to be mentally and physically ready to play every time you take the field in this district. HHS was the better team today, Beech was the better team the last time they played. Who will it be next? It starts for real in 2 weeks. Come out and watch this district tournament wherever it is held. I promise you that you will see some very good fastpitch softball by some very good players and coaches. Should be interesting?
  10. Beech will play Mt. Juliet on Monday May 3rd at 4:30 pm at Mt. Juliet Beech has to cancel with Coffee County and Mt. Juliet has to cancel with Overton but quite frankly we are out of make-up dates and the district games have to come first.
  11. For those interested: White House vs. Beech for 4-21-04 has been cancelled due to weather. Make up date is currently set for May 6th at White House.
  12. As far as I know Michelle Smith holds the fastest time recorded at 72 mph. I read this a few years ago when the Olympic Team took gold in the Atlanta games. She has a ball named after her "the Worth K-Master" so I suppose she is the fastest ever recorded. 67 mph is the fastest I have ever heard from a high-schooler and that my friends is bringing it. My vote is for Megan Rhodes, Danielle Perroni, or the freshman #4 from Soddy, sorry but I do not recall her name.
  13. If Cenntennial and Soddy are in the finals, who did Coffee County, Forrest, and Wilson Central lose to in the single elimination tournament???
  14. Beech defeated Coffee County 9 - 1 today. Good outing for Crystal Claunch for Beech pitching with 11 stikeouts. Coffee did not look like they normally do. This was not the normal Coffee team we are used to seeing. Beech is hitting exceptionally well right now. The two teams will meet again the last week of the season at Coffee and I expect a much closer game.
  15. FPFanatic, I only mentioned three names in my synopsis of the game; Baird and Stanfill from Beech and Tucker from Hendersonville. I assume your kid is Tucker by the tone of your message. I have seen her pitch over the years and she is a very good pitcher. I am not taking anything away from her on that. Yes there were a few errors but if you were at the game you know Beech hit her hard. There were no errors recorded when Baird and Stanfill went yard over the center field fence were there??? Those two home runs were "shots" as they say. As far as the other five runs, maybe 2 or three were due to some errors but get real, Beech had some serious bats on that particular day. When the two teams meet again it may be a different story, that is what is unique to this game. You never really know who is going to come out on top in district 9-AAA. Sorry you do not like to see the facts. P.S. I was not trying to make stuff up to make my team look good. I just stated what happened and if you have seen the Bucs play I don't have to make them look good. They can do that all on there own.
  16. You are correct about the young lady pitching well. I did not mean to disrespect her in that regards. She did face the same Soddy lineup that won the tourney and she along with her teammates defense kept them at bay. Good job to the Lady Commandos. I was just saying that Soddy's ace as a 9th grader herself is very good when she is on as this tournament shows.
  17. Redbarron 515, I know you are a Beech-hater but you need to get your info correct before you post it on these boards. Beech lost to Soddy 1-0 in the first round of single elimination, not 8-0. By the way, Soddy won the tourney over Goodpasture. Great job by the HHS pitcher this morning vs. Soddy in their 4-0 win which was correct. However so you do not get too excited you should know that Soddy was not pitching their ace #4. This would have made a world of difference my friend. Just look at Soddy's record when she pitches. Oh yeah, should I say undefeated still with wins over the best the state has to offer - Goodpasture twice.
  18. Midway through after several quality tournaments and looking at some of the district standings, here are some of the best teams I have seen: Goodpasture, Baylor, Soddy Daisy, Cumberland Co., and Beech. These 5 teams have about 70 wins and 10 losses combined. Several of them came from playing each other in the weekend tournaments. Soddy has won the Beech Play-Day and the Worth tournament both over Goodpasture in extra innings. I would say they are the best of the best right now. Other teams that have looked good at times but are still up and down are: Lipscomb, Father Ryan, Farragut, Red Bank, Ezell-Harding, Dickson Co., Riverdale, Coffee Co., and Greenbrier.
  19. Raider One, if you or anyone has a complete list of scores from the single elimination tournament could you please pass that on. I know the following: Lipscomb beat Cumberland Co. 3-0 Owensboro Catholic beat Greenbrier 2-0 Father Ryan beat Hendersonville Soddy Daisy beat Beech 1-0 Goodpasture beat Louisville Mercy 2-0 Others??????????
  20. Your information is wrong. Beech lost to Soddy 1-0 with Soddy's Ace pitcher #4 throwing who ended up winning the tournament for them against Goodpasture. They did not pitch her against HHS. HHS has trouble hitting the good pitchers but you should know that as much as you follow them. No, they would not beat Cumberland Co. if #12 Filley is pitching - Get Real!

Wilson Central is very solid. They have good speed, tough hitters, and a good defense. Pitching is okay as well. I expect them to be in the hunt during post-season tournament time. A well rounded team. They still have to begin building their tradition much the way their girls and boys basketball teams did this year by advancing to the state tournament. For a school only in it's 3rd year of existence, they are well on their way.
  22. Can you give me directions to McKnight Park coming from Hendersonville. I am supporting the Commandos this weekend. I was told to go HWY 109 to 840 and then from there I am lost.

I will agree that she may not have a perfect game again, because in 20+ years of watching baseball and softball, I can count on one hand the number of perfect games I have witnessed and belive me I have seen a lot of ball. Quit trying to let the Blue Devils off the hook because of errors. They are a very good young team that is only going to get better but lets face some simple facts. Beech is hitting the ball as good as they ever have and they have 3 very good pitchers and their defense is as solid as it gets. Granted that anyone can beat anyone on any given day especially in 9-AAA it is going to a very solid effort from pitching, hitting, and defense to beat the Buccaneers. They are solid top to bottom. Will they win the district? Only time will tell, but if I were betting based on what I have seen thus far I would be silly not to put my money on them. Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, White House, Gallatin, and Lavergne all have solid teams. Just look at the scores, but Beech is the team to beat even though I know it pains some people to hear that. Best of Luck to all the 9-AAA teams because in my mind it is one of the best in the state and if you want to see some good softball go see some of these teams play. I'll promise you that if you like softball you will not be disappointed. Kudos to the players and coaches for laying it on the line every day.
  24. No Score for the first two innings, then Beech scored 5 runs in the third followed by solo home runs in the 5th by Charlotte Baird and in the 6th by Kassie Stanfill. Going into the top of the 7th Beech led 7-0 and Stanfill was dominate allowing only 2 singles and one walk. Hendersonville put together a little run in the 7th inning with 4 singles and a double scoring 3 runs before Stanfill finished the game off. Beech seems to be alone in the drivers seat in 9AAA now with a solid win today and a dominate performance over White House on Tuesday. Tucker went the distance for HHS and Stanfill went all 7 for BHS. This is still a very competitive and tough district. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day with the exception of Smyrna. You must come out with your "A+" game every district game or you may end up tacking a loss on to your record.

No slang, it was a perfect game. 21 batters faced - 21 batters retired with 12 k's, no BB's, no Errors, no baserunners period. It was complete domination by Claunch and her Beech teammates. I know everyone thought an upset was brewing but that was quickly dismissed in the 1st inning as Claunch struck out the side and Beech put up 2 runs in the first.
