As a general rule this tourney does not draw the top tier of 16 and 18U teams simply because of the dates played. Conflicts with the high school state.

"AMMO" was a very effective pitcher but most importantly she was a senior leader and a classy/fiery competetor. There will be 4 all state teams one for each class selected by the TSWA. Odum does deserve to be on the team. I think Danielle does too. Hard to argue 12 Ks per game and we didn't exactly play a light weight schedule either.

We will be at Warner 8:00 PM Friday vs Chat Eagles and 9:00 AM Sat vs Yankettes.

It's hard to ignore the softball mentally challenged on this board but sometimes you just have to. The "major programs" are not always the big names from other sports. You know that as well as I. In Tennessee I would rank the top five as UTC, TN Tech, MTSU, Chattanooga State (yes a junior college) then UT. This may change for UT but I still see Frank Reid and the UTC team as remaining at the top. It is my feeling that softball athletes are more driven by their academic needs than their pursuit of major teams. They seem to have their heads in the right place and are taking care of what really counts in the long run, a good education. I like to read your reports on the Chattanooga area and please keep them up during the summer. I'm dropping back as an assistant to 16U T. E. Elite and will be there next week for the memorial tourney so if you are there come up and introduce yourself (I'll be the skinny coach). I had the gold team last year but most are too old so the Wrights have joined Parker. Our little 16 year old team will be fairly strong. [Edited by std on 5/26/02 8:06P]

The softball coaches have never developed a criteria for selecting an all tourney team for TSSAA to use. Iv'e been down there 8 out of last ten years and ased the same question every time.

Would someone put an end to this madness.

Danielle Peroni deserves consideration. She is a team player and humble in all that she achieves.
