I can't believe coach Stanton is going to be reassigned to coaching the junior varsity from now on. From his comments in the paper it appears he was not involved in the decision to take a back seat. He's coached there 30+ years, won two or three state titles, and never lost the district until this year. Doesn't he deserve a little more respect? Tuesday night I noticed the new coach/principal taking the team through warm-ups while coach Stanton made trips back and forth from the parking lot carrying equipment and the water jug. I'm not sure which coach actually is in charge during the games. Does anyone know?

I believe the winners of the district host the second place teams.

For a forward, Bivens is not particularly athletic,strong, fast, quick, etc... If he is in range, however, he can get his shot, put it where he wants, hit it hard or chip it.... You could say he is just a "scorer", but how many good teams have highly skilled forwards who can't finish? As for Sweetwater, if Bivens isn't scoring they're going down.

Both teams are simply solid. If anyone breaks down what these teams have accomplished the last two years it becomes clear they have great coaching. I believe both coach Rivers and Schermerhorn are volunteer coaches.

ND seemed more than a little tight. I'm sure it was the biggest high school game some of them had played. Mcallie's size, strength, and speed had to impress the young ND players. Where and when is the Baylor game?

Run n gun worked for you, Reaction. because your boys back in the day could at least work the ball from the back third to the midfield and then go up top with some accuracy. Grace posters are right--Boyd is weakest in the midfield and struggle to even put long balls where the strikers can go to work.

It was a classic case of Ref calling what he THOUGHT he saw. He was turning to walk up field as the ball slowly rolled wide accross the end line. When Drew dove{did the keeper even touch him?} the Ref saw it out of the corner of his eye and whipped his head around making the bogus call.

Do the Cats have a few disipline problems? In the game I saw a certain starter and the coach got into it after the player seemed to try to sub himself back in after receiving a yellow card. After coach directed him to the bench he tore off his jersey. A kind faculty member helped calm the player and he came back in later. Is this the same coach ya'll had last year? Where is the Hispanic coach?
