  1. Rigger, Go to the tssaa website and under the state results there is info on how you can obtain a tape or DVD. By the way I've seen the replay and there was most definetly a two count by the ref. If there was any questionable call it was what I felt was an obvious 3pt near fall that was not awarded to Creagan during the last 20 sec. of the match. The tape clearly shows Johnson on his back and time ran out and no points were given. Oh well the ref did a good job and the video backs that up.
  2. Soms, I see your still at it trying to figure out who everyone is on this board. I'm pretty sure you are as wrong about who the chick is as you were about predicting the results of the state tournament. It was good to see you at McKenzie, but you did look a little bigger since you had to eat all that crow. Just kidding.....like you say its all fun. How will Smyrna be next year? Hopefully you all will bring a bunch of qualifiers next year. Good luck and tell CoachG to hang in there.
  3. Sundancer, Thanks I agree both teams wrestled like champions. But since Franklin was the favorite to win the State I think it was Bradley who made sure it wasn't a walk in the park. I'm sure next year Franklin will want to return the favor.
  4. Rueben, I was there in 2001 and Bradley and Clarksville did have a good match that Bradley won in the last match but Bradley wasn't rubbing it in their face they were just celebrating their win. I'm sure you have your opinion just like I do about what happend then, but one thing is for sure you haven't seen the Bradley fans cheering for Clarksville's opponents at the State Duals or holding up signs in support for Clarksville's opponents like those purple shirted fans have done. Our coaches have also refrained from giving bulletin board material like Clarksville's coach did this past weekend.
  5. CoachD, Thanks for the kind words. Also, thanks to you and your Mustang wrestlers for the "help" they gave us at state. Hope we see you all again at our tournament next year.
  6. Vet, I think Clint Abbot said this in a different thread...........Just get yourself a stripped shirt and whistle and give it a try.
  7. Ouch! Be nice Bayoubear...........lol
  8. mccrajos, I'll let you judge how bad off he was............................" I'm not sure it's a three man race anymore, and I think Bradley will be struggling to stay close by tomorrow." Clarksville coach Jeff Jordan said. "Bradley has some quality wrestlers, but Franklin has a lot of stars............"
  9. GREAT job Travis! I'm so proud of you. I knew you could do it. Keep working hard you still have two more "YELLOW MEDALS" to collect.
  10. Congratulations to Coach Laxton for winning the State and accomplishing your GOAL! You and your coaches did an outstanding job of bringing a very young team to the top. The Bears wrestled like champions this weekend and kept the streak alive of winning 5 striaght Traditional Tournaments and 7 of the last 8. I also need to give special thanks to Clarksville's coach Jeff Jordan for his "less than correct" prediction that was quoted in the Chattanooga FreePress...........it was nice bulletin board material.

    Top 5 DI

    Top 5 DI team scores after Friday nights action. 1. Bradley 175 2. Franklin 170.5 3. Soddy Daisy 93 4. Clarksville 87 5. Cleveland 85
  13. I think this is a fund raising conspiracy for Soddy Daisy's Coach Steve Henry. I think he has plenty of his "Trojan Water" left over and is looking to move the stuff before the state tournament. Just a thought.
  14. CoachG, I do believe you are correct.....
  15. I think what needs to be remembered is that since moving our tournament from McClellan to McKenzie Area is that it also came with a higher price tag to put on this event. I think thats why there may be a more controlled environment at the admission gates and pass gates. I'm glad that the TSSAA moved the tournament to McKenzie. I think that the atmosphere for the state is the best its ever been. I think that Ronnie Carter has a very difficult job. I think he does a good job.
  16. 911, I couldn't agree with you more. Also, lets not forget Coach Damon Floyd. thumb
  17. Sorry man, I just wanted to give credit were it was due.........................
  18. In Chattanooga, TV channel 3 reported Region 3's tournament with highligts and results.
  19. 123 or whoever you are, I'm not sure why you started this thread but you should know that the 140 from Boyd (Patrick Armstrong) is a very tough kid who was undefeated until his loss to Creagan. I'll also answer your question about how tough Creagan is.......he's very tough. In my opinion even as a Soph. he is ONE of the best wrestlers in the state.
  20. First off let me set you straight about the history of the Bradley/Clarksville rivalry.....Bradley has beaten Clarksville everytime they've ever wrestled except one time. That said, I wouldn't call it much of a rivalry. Also, Bradley doesn't dislike wrestling Clarksville they've enjoyed it. I don't know who you are or where you get your information but I find it funny that you feel qualified to speak for "other teams" as well Clarksville. Are you implying that Bradley fans are the first to have signs at a wrestling match? I can assure you that if you did see a Bradley fan holding a sign it wasn't in support for another school as your Wilcats do year after year. You sound more like a heartbroken Wildcat fan who's team lost to Bradley yet again. Get over it.
  21. If you are a returning medalist (from any year) you must also be a region champion (current year) to be seeded. Go to www.tssaa.org the criteria for state tournament seeding is posted there.
  22. Soms, Do you even know why in the past that the brackets had to be "adjusted"?
  23. Coach, You may want to fudge a little more......Bradley's 103 Hunter Randolph pinned Collierville's Johnson.
  24. SuperZ, I'm really not sure where to start, but here goes...... 1. First of all Slingshot never implied that home court advantage assures victory. However, anyone who can't recognize the obvious advantage it provides is either not being honest or has never coached or wrestled in it. Thats why in all sports its referred to as "Home Court Advantage" Being as honest as possible how would you feel if Ronnie Carter announced that Bradley would host the State Duals for the next 5 years with the traditional tournament to be held at MTSU. 2. Please don't insinuate that Clarksville is the only community capable of hosting this event. You spoke as if Bradley or anyone else wouldn't have a clue as to what is involved with hosting this tournament. In fact, until 2000 this event was rotated throughout Tennessee at other high schools. Bradley has hosted this event in 95 and 98 it was well run and profitable. 3. I too, have been asked by other teams and coaches why Clarksville seems to delight in any Bradley failure. I was wondering if you could share your thoughts about that as well. I don't think anyone was saying that Clarksville isn't capable of running a fine tournament. What is being said is that this tournament is very profitable and advantageous and Clarksville isn't the only team capable of running it. Nor am I campaigning for Bradley to host this event. My personal opinion on where this event should be held is at MTSU or David Lipsomb.
  25. reuben, No one is crying and anything can be improved.
