The regular season is nearing an end!! Top 5 as of 2-9-09: 1. Grace Christian(19-4) - Visits Rockwood tonight, and stills plays Harriman, Greenback and Anderson Co. 2. Oliver Springs (19-6) - Closes out vs Sunbright and at improving Oneida! 3. Wartburg (15-7) - Finishes with Oakdale, Midway, and Rockwood. 4. Rockwood (15-4) - Rematch with Grace and ends with TSD, Wartburg, and Midway. 5. Oneida (10-12) - Closes out with AC, OS, and Jellico. just missed..... 6. Greenback(12-10) - Will finish with TSD and Grace. 7. Harriman (10-13)- Still needs Berean twice (i think), Grace, and Kingston. District 4 is pretty much set..... 1. Oliver Springs 2. Wartburg 3. Oneida 4. Sunbright 5. Oakdale - needs to beat Coalfield 6. Coalfield District 3 has a few more games to play, but should finish like this.... 1. Grace 2. Rockwood 3. Greenback 4. Harriman 5. Wartburg (15-6) - Big win vs Rockwood, battles OS on Friday! 4. Rockwood (13-4) - Lost a tough one at Wartburg, but might have been looking ahead to Grace. 5. Who are the players?

For Hampton....Other than beating Sullivan South, what other big win do they have outside of single a with their "tough" schedule. Just because you load up, doesn't make you better!! The other wins are teams that don't have good records (happy valley, south greene, etc). That doesn't make them better than say Oliver Springs. ITs just too bad nobody wants to play Oliver Springs. Teams like Harriman, Rockwood won't schedule them. OS should be the team playing in the Harriman Classic and the Hampton classic.....

injunsquaw, I seriously doubt your bench players would start for Wartburg or Oliver Springs. There may be only 1 starter or 2 at the most starters that would start for Wartburg and Oliver SPrings. They both have some talent, the reason why they are beating you. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Oneida. I still think they are a team to aviod in the post season beacasue of their experince and talent.

I agree with you except the #5 is wide open!!!! Top 5 as of 1-29-09: 1. Grace Christian(15-4) - finished well against Rockwood and dismantled Wartburg at Wartburg! 2. Oliver Springs (16-6) - Has won 5 straight with some out of region games up next. 3. Rockwood (13-3) - Had the game vs Grace, but couldn't finish. Plays Wartburg Sat. 4. Wartburg (13-6) - Grace took it to them, plays Sunbright Friday and Rockwood Sat.. 5. Greenback(9-10) - Still like them here even though Harriman and Onieda could replace them at any time. just missed: 6. Onieda (6-11)- tough non district games, but doing pretty well in single A. 7. Harriman (10-11)- they may be a year away from the top 5, but they have decent talent.

What are your thoughts about this Friday vs Oliver Springs? I know during the hall of fame week they played and OS beat them by 20 or so. It sounds like they are playing better, especially at home. I think both team are riding 4 or 5 game win streaks.

This will be a good game to watch. Is Rockwood for real? Is Grace THAT good? Can't wait until tonight. I pick Grace by 18

Oliver Springs (11-5) - Split on FL trip and struggled vs Webb, but will travel to Catholic and Wartburg next. 4. Rockwood (9-2) - Loss 2 of 3 at Harriman Classic, but has Harriman and Oakdale next. 5. Greenback (6-7) - They are starting to play better, will have to prove it vs Wartburg and Harriman up. close to breaking top 5: Harriman(6-7) - Can crack it with wins over Rockwood and Greenback

Tuesday Wartburg vs Oneida - Wartburg wins a game closer than expected Harriman vs Oakdale - Harriman wins big Friday Rockwood vs Harriman - Harriman wins the rematch game Sat Greenback vs Wartburg - Wartburg wins by less than 5 Grace vs Oneida - Grace blows out the Indians

Top 5 as of Dec 20 (going into the Christmas break)... 1. Grace Christian (6-1) - Not played since winning their invitational tourney. Travel to the Bearden Super 16. 2. Wartburg (5-3) - Has done nothing to take over 1st or slip to 3rd. Beat Harriman and Coalfield last week. Christmas break will be spent at Harriman. 3. Oliver Springs (9-2) - Good wins over Kingston and Onieda and riding a 7 game win streak. A trip to FLorida during Christmas will be a good test. 4. Rockwood (7-0) - Kingston, TSD, and Greenback were the victoms this past week. Will travel to Harriman during the break. 5. toss up between Greenback and Onieda. These two are slipping and allowing maybe Harriman to crack the top five.

WOW! I am really surprised how bad Greenback got beat. I thought it would be a close game with it going either way, but by the looks of it, it sounds like Rockwood dominated! Maybe Rockwood is #2 behind Grace in that district?

Big game tonight...Rockwood and Greenback......predictions? I think I will pick Greenback.

Roane County Rankings as of Dec 17 1. Oliver Springs 2. Rockwood 3. Kingston 4. Harriman 5. Midway Too bad OS and Rockwood don't play, but maybe they will meet up in regions. Not sure if Kingston and Harriman play, but right now would give edge to Kingston. Sorry Midway, you bring up the rear.

Like blackhawkdown said, beating Kingston is not a signature win to put you in the state tournament discussion. Maybe going undefeated in district and region play will.

I will rank the 5 teams in Roane County after this week's games. We already know that Rockwood beat Harriman and Harriman beat Midway. This week's games are Rockwood @ Kingston - MON Oliver Springs @ Kingston - TUE

Top 5 as of Dec 13: 1. Grace Christian (5-1) - No region games last week, but are doing fine in their own tourney. A good test coming up tonight vs A.C. 2. Wartburg (3-3) - They destroyed Sunbright on Friday, but will be tested against Harriman and Coalfield. 3. Oliver Springs (7-2) - Beat Oakdale and Coalfield pretty easy, but a good showdown against Onieda coming! 4. Rockwood (4-0) - After beating up on Coalfield, Oakdale, and Sunbright, they too showed they belong ranked high by beating Harriman. 5tie. What was the score of the Harriman/Sunbright game last night??? Need to add it to the scoreboard! Does anyone think there could be any upsets this Friday?? Maybe Harriman over Rockwood (if you call that an upset) or possibly Sunbright over Wartburg? Maybe Oakdale could surprise Onieda? Any thoughts?
