Slusher is the better basketball player, Breazeale is the better athlete.

Agree with Goosevol. Player deserved ejection with two personal fouls. Referee not held accountable for his language when he is suppose to be onone of the adult supervising conduct on the field. None the less Rockwood ends up with a better draw in the playoffs. This region has done well with Region 1 in the past.

Coach Layne will have Wartburg ready despite graduation losses. Sunbright has good group returning. Oakdale also has a good group of returnees. Coalfield will have an adjustment period with new coach.

Grace has all five starters back. Has to be the favorite. Harriman loses much of it's core but has an athletic bunch returning. Greenback has most of their players returning with one year under Coach McCollum. Knox Christian should be fair with Amos back. Midway will have young athletic players. Rockwood has most of last year's players returning. Berean has good team that beat Oliver Springs and Loudon last year.

Agree with you bballplaya24. Seem to have good size all across the board for a single A team. Went to their website and the heights seem to be legit, along with the fact that they are thick as most play football.

Grace has a nice team, maybe of the better single A teams in East TN. But not an upset that Wartburg beat them last year.

1. Moriarity has to play wing due to lack of skill people. Would be a good lineman, but lack of skill people dictates he play wing. Stats after three games prove he can play wing. Peddicord moved also because of lack of skill people, plus more ways to get the ball in his hands than at tight end. 2. Work guess that they work on fundamentals every day at practice. Is a simple game, but up to players to execute. 3. Have spread out this year to take pressure off Allen and open up offense with Breazeale at QB as two year starter. Been pretty successful past two games before Kingston. 4. Would guess the rollouts are to take pressure off the line which starts two soph. tackles. Again passing game has been successful up to Kingston game. Best skill people are catching the ball (Moriarity, Dyer, Roberts). 5. Spread looks good with good players at the skill positions. CAK had division one AA QB (Harb / Western Carolina) at helm with good skill people. Harriman had Goins (TN Tech) at QB with some of the better skill people in the area running around. Those two offenses had success against a lot of people, not just Rockwood. May hurt the feelings of players at Rockwood, but those two schools had better skill players last year. 6. Coach Webb is like any other coach in America. You remember him getting on players during the game, but I'm sure he encouraged some also. Got onto Breazeale for gesture at end of game not interception. Other instances that you refer to, do not know about. But if player dosen't want to be chewed out, don't play. Don't know Coach Webb's record, but I'm sure that it is up towards the top. Know he has won more than he has lost. When the talent has been there, team has been successful. No talent, bad record. This team has some talent but not as much in past years. Lack of speed definite hindrance. But team has chance to make playoffs and compete. Glass is half full, not half empty. Season is still early with a lot to be decided. So focus on the good and get off the negativity. Team is 3-1, 1-0 in region. Not 0-4, 0-1.

To clarify, when you say next level, I think of D-1. No one in that category. Tigers have had good players the last few years play college ball. See no one that stands above past Tigers that have played college ball. But the current Tigers do have this season & next to grow physically and improve their skills.

I believe Coach Layne emphasizes taking the charge, but players bail out on you some times. I hear that was the discussion between Coach Layne & Bunch against Harriman.

Goosevol: Agree with your view of the Wannaker kid. Enthusiasm does not explain running around the gym showing yourself. Grace coach needs to talk to the young man and explain how to act. Show some class and act like you have been there before even though they had not.

Grace fans: Don't take this post seriously. Parent told me this is a freshman player who doesn't dress out varsity. Probably the 22nd player in a program with 22 players. We apologize for his lack of intelligence.

Saw Rockwood play Catholic tonight. The Tigers are in for a long year if tonight is any indication.
