  1. Harriman is down this year. Where is the Pollit girl ? I thought she was a Junior last year. Sunbright will be rebuilding. Oneida lost some good players but has several young ones returning. Coalfield returns all. Oakdale is improving. Wartburg has McGhee..not sure of any other helpers unless the Cook girl has improved.
  2. Our own Scott Co Lady Highlanders are under direction of a new head coach this year. With a few veteran players and several younger players how are they going to fair in District 4-AA ?
  3. Any thoughts on how District 4-A will be this year? ( Sunbright, Wartburg, Oneida, Oakdale, Rockwood, Coalfield, Harriman)
  4. The Oneida girls attended the EKU camp. They finished with an impressive 8 wins and 2 losses. Overall, including JV, 11 wins and 4 losses. The young team has definitely got some potential. Watch out next year for this team to excell. With only one senior on the team their future looks bright. Good luck next season Lady Indians. thumb
  5. Congratulations to Clarkrange !!! Way to to!
  6. No one said anything about MVP... I mean the ONE chosen for all-dist team from Oneida. No big deal guys just voicing a comment. Not worth raising a big stink over. After all....it's done and overwith. Good luck to the Oneida INDIANS in the upcoming tournament.
  7. Coach Windle is great coach. Not even a question of his abilities and we all know you have to sub. Just curious as to how they determined that Armstrong was the ONE.
  8. Kinda sad that Oneida only had Armstrong on all-district. Not that he didn't deserve it but there wasn't any player that got to perform to their fullest because of the CONSTANT SUBSTITUTIONS made through out the season. Sure they play well together but look at the other all-district team members. Their coaches had faith that they could and would perform allowing their qualities to be noticed by all the other coaches in the district. Whatever !
  9. Congradulations to Coach Windle !! However, with the equal amount of talented players Oneida has, Ernest T. Bass could have made a turn around at Oneida this year. Anything would have been an improvement over last years coaching performnce. So in saying that. Congradulations Oneida INDIANS in gaining your Coach the honor of "Coach of the year".
  10. Look for these young ladies to accomplish big things in the years to come. They are a tough bunch. Very impressive despite the score VS Oneida.
  11. The Oneida Lady Indians are looking great right now. They had some region wins at Harriman as well as defeating a very good AA Kingston team. Veteran players and rookie players are finding their harmony and playing VERY WELL. The freshmen and 2 sophomores won a tournament at Anderson Co last weekend and had a great showing. Look for this team to once again be in the running. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES !! Good luck to all teams.
  12. Congradulations to our Scott County Highlanders on becomming the tournament champions this weekend at Anderson County in the freshman/jv tournament. This group of small, young men were very impressive in their showings over the past few days. Look for the program to grow with this young talent. Big things can come in small packages. WAY TO GO HIGHLANDERS !!
  13. Congradulations to the Oneida Lady Indians JV on three straight wins in route to becomming the champions of the Anderson Co JV tournament held this weekend. This group of young ladys will definitely help "KEEP THE TRADITION" going at Oneida over the next several years.
  14. Knox news said Wartburg only scored 2 pts 3rd quarter and 3 pts 4th quarter. Was this a miss print ? Were all players there ?
  15. Listening to the game it was apparent that the Lady Indians took command early. Sounded like Coach West cleared his bench with little drop off in talent. Maybe they are finally starting to jell. Look for these young ladys to CONTINUE THE TRADITION.
  16. I agree that Scott County will pull the "W" over Clarkrange.
  17. To answer an earlier question, Jeffers is still playing. They also have Seniors Boshears and Marlar. These three combined with SEVERAL other talented players just may give some teams a though time. Look for Scott to be the surprise team this year. They don't have a lot of height but MAN ARE THEY QUICK. Good luck Scott County !
  18. To be quite honest, I think Oneida could have won by more but the coach played several players continually mixing up the line-up. As for last year... Why didn't they do very well?....THEY DIDN'T HAVE A COACH !!!!! Windell has everything to gain by getting more than 6 wins this year....he will be a success. No way they could do worse than last year. GOOD LUCK INDIANS !
  19. Way to go Jackson CO. Congradulations on your BIG WIN !!!! Very Impressive.
  20. Had a chance to scout the Oneida / Clarkrange game tonight and the Lady Indians sure gave them a game. I think they lost by 11 or so. Clarkrange sure did not impress me considering the hype that has been posted in here. I guess I expected more. The Lady Indians just may give them more than they can handle when they meet again as well as other teams on their schedule, once they get in a groove. I'm sure the coaches would agree that neither team played to their potential ,as do I. Look for the Lady Indians to HOPEFULLY start getting some W's. GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON GIRLS !!
  21. Oneida returns starters/Seniors, Abbott, Bond, and Caldwell. These girls could be the ABC's of the Lady Indian's team. These three grouped with any other combination of returning juniors, sophomores, and a promising freshman class could equal success for their team. Dristrict 4-A will be a tough one this year as several teams will have the potential to excell. It may come down to an all out coaches battle, and the coaches in this district are dandy ones. Good luck to all the teams !!
  22. Anyone heard how the Scott High Lady Highlanders will be this year? How did the scrimmage with Mccreary Co go last night. Havn't heard anything 'bout them or that district for that matter. Any thoughts or truths ?
  23. Candace Parker of Illinois announced today her intentions to sign in the AM with the Lady Vols. She is TOUGH !Someone I know well had the opportunity to attend the Lady Vols Elite Basketball camp this summer with her. This someone also was the" HOT SHOT' winner at this camp winning amoung over 300 attendees including"Candace Parker. By no means am I saying this someone is as good as her but at least she can say "i beat her" someday when she is playing in the WNBA. And she will be there someday.
  24. OHS Lady Indians had successful camps this summer. Look out district 4-A This bunch of girls pack a lot of punch. They also have a strong group of freshmen coming in . This will provide them with much dept on the bench. Congrads to Senior Tristin Bond for winning the "Hot Shot" competition at the Lady Vols Elite basketball camp June 22. Over 300 campers including highly recruited Candace Parker of Illinois were in attendance.
  25. Don't count out the Indians just yet. If I heard correctly they tied with Kingston and if they are good enough for a state vote Oneida must be also. Not only because of that game but their record speaks also. [Edited by gymTOgym on 4-28-03 6:50P]
