  1. Anyone interested in playing AAU for 16U girls in Scott Co TN area e-mail Brbond@highland.net
  2. I got to watch Ms Brown on a couple of occasions this year and was real impressed. She will definitely have some top schools looking her way if she is interested. What she does do, she does well, and doesn't have to have many around her to make her shine on a good night. York's team as a whole does have a lot of young talent but Brandi is gonna go somewhere with her skills and size. Keep up the hard work Brandi.
  3. Coach West has NO players that another coach had in the past . Not even the previous high school coach. He has worked and groomed all of his girls on this years team. It's plain and simple INDIAN PRIDE ! Take pride in your program as a coach and take pride in your team as a player... that equals success. Just because they're not going to state this year dosn't mean they aren't a good team. GREAT JOB COACH WEST !!
  4. Good luck to Harriman at state. As far as Oneida........Their post season records over the past SEVERAL years can speak for itself. When you have made as many substate and state apprearances as they have in the past 10 years then you can talk all the trash about them you want. Face it. Going to the state or not this year, they are a GREAT TEAM !!!
  5. Congradulations to Cloudland. Good luck at state. Oneida girls gave you a game. A close one at that. I believe they won the first, third, and fourth quarters but just couldn't overcome the loss of the second quarter. Nothing at all to be ashamed of. As stated earlier, they were not expected to be playing in substate tonight. Great season for the Lady Indians. Fairwell to Brittany Creech !! Great season and career at Oneida. Gonna miss her. To all remaining Lady Indians....come back fighting next year (all players except the lone senior) and WIN IT ALL !! To Coach West. GREAT JOB !!
  6. CONGRADULATIONS LADY INDIANS ON A GREAT POST SEASON. GOOD LUCK TONIGHT. KEEP UP THE TRADITION
  7. Wartburg takes the tournament. 58-56. Congradulations to the Bulldogs on the win.
  8. Congradulations to Harriman on the district win. No, Oneida did not play up to their potiential. The officiating was strange at times but didn't make or break the game. If the refs are as strict this year in region as last ,Harriman needs to watch out because the little shuffel of feet will equal a turn over as well as the 3 second violations. Oneida girls finished better than anyone thought and who knows, they may step it up even more at regions. Good luck to all teams. Congradulations to all that made the all tournament team.
  9. I was there also and must say that it was a little "premature" to be posting the banner as did the basketball players from OHS. No one expected the Lady Indians to be where they are today. You never know. Hats off the the Lady Dawgs because they played their hearts out. Playing them in a "close" game the other night was hardly a lucky thing it was a victory. Wartburg has improved greatly. I also think the Lady Devils didn't want to play OHS since their players were in the stands yelling for Creech to miss her free throws. Coach Cordell didn't look too excited himself. Well.......you never know. Good luck to both teams.
  10. Grizzlies are the boys division. Girls are Gems. Both have tryouts Sunday at Oneida HS. Not sure about girls, but boys are at 3:30PM
  11. Message for Brandy Nelson. If your interested in AAU at home (Scott Co) we have a 16U team Tennessee Gems. Give us a call at 569-5724. We have lots of local talent to develope our own girls at home. Or you can e-mail Brbond@highland.net [Edited by gymTOgym on 2-26-03 4:36P]
  12. We will be having tryouts for boys 14 under AAU team, Tennessee Grizzlies this Sunday at Oneida High School gym March 2 @ 3:30 pm. For any informataion call 423-569-6424 or 865-617-1064 [Edited by gymTOgym on 2-25-03 10:19P]
  13. You can not coach any AAU player that was on a girls or boys team that you coached during the season. Coach or assistant coach. I know this because my daughter can not play on the AAU team she played for last year because the coaches were the Coach and assistant coach for the middle school boys team at the school where she played. My husband coaches AAU for our older daughter and we were going to move her up for experience but she can not play for him either because he was the middle school girls assistant. To back all of this up the above mentioned coaches attended a coaches seminar at the beginning of the season held by TSSAA and they said NO !. Then just last week in a last ditch effort they called TSSAA and asked again since she had finished her middle school career and would be playing high school next year and they said until the child is promoted to the next grade they can NOT PLAY !
  14. Oneida beat Wartburg by about 10-15 pts. Not 4. The boys game was lost by Oneida by about 4 though.
  15. I would like to wish both teams the best this season. Play hard and go after it. Oneida is rebuilding, Scott is working with several returning players in hopes to have a better season. Good luck Oneida tonight @ Anderson Co vs Sweetwater. Good luck to Scott Co Friday vs Coalfield. Sometimes big things do come in small packages. [Edited by gymTOgym on 11-21-02 10:15A]
