Jason Larkin does a great job with Ryan. The school is lucky to have quality coaches with their girls and boys teams. If I remember correctly, there were many people that were less than thrilled when Larkin was hired on the girls side, looks like things have worked out great for all! I know that Ryan gets a few out of Williamson County too, Yontz is a WilCo product.

Marshall County is better than Spring Hill when everyone is healthy. Both teams have some talented young players as well and should be at the top of the district for years to come. I would go Marshall County as a clear #1 and Spring Hill a tick back at #2.

Shapes up to be a good tournament! Overton and Father Ryan are only a couple of miles apart from one another on Franklin Road so you can get out and see some good basketball over the holidays between the two tournaments.

So what happens to Whites Creek? They play Spring Hill, then they have Spring Hill playing another game before they know who wins?? Don't count your chickens first, WC is not bad with their 6 football players fully involved now. They beat MLK recently. I think that should be a pretty good game. Overton/ PC winner (8 AM game) vs WC/ SH winner (930 AM game) Play a second game that day @ 630 PM. The loser of the 630 PM game then falls back into the losers bracket and plays the loser of Greenbrier and Harpeth on Tuesday.

Okay Nashville, I'll give it a shot; 1. Hunters Lane- Region 6 AAA winners with all junior last yr, hard to go against them. 2. John Overton- This year's HL, only one senior, tough schedule too. 3. McGavock- Guard Simms should emerge this year, good junior group. 4. Antioch- Can't go against Nollner. 5. Hillwood- Good Coach, big athletic guy in the middle, improved soph group. 6. Cane Ridge- Enjoy beating them while you can, will be a factor next yr and a beast in 2 yrs. 7. Glencliff- Loss of Alexander will hurt.

Centennial should be lead by 6'8" center Ryan Bristol. I don't know how good the team is but he is an absolute factor in the paint for them.

12 AAA looks a little different this year with Antioch, Cane Ridge, Glencliff, Hunters Lane, and McGavock returning while being joined by 11 AAA castaways Hillwood and John Overton. Meanwhile Maplewood and Stratford drop down to AA. Hunters Lane was the region 6 AAA champ last year with a team loaded with juniors. Alright Nashville what do ya'll think?

Brentwood- One of the better teams around in team camps this summer. Hillsboro- Solid returning group lead by McMillan. Ravenwood- A good junior class along with Mattich, could go higher, dark horse! Franklin- Always good but lost a lot last year. Little and McLemore will lead the way Indy- New coach, new style, good returning group of junior guards. Centennial- New coach, new style, lead by Bristol who is a force inside. This district should be VERY competitive not a lot of difference between these six.

Congrats to Coach Henrie as he was named yesterday as the head coach @ Centennial...........

Any team besides the #1 and #2 could fall in the quarterfinals.

From what I understand he and AP/AD had a big disagreement over the basketball program (the AP/AD is a former well known area coach). The AP/AD has a son at LaVergne that served as Coach Moore's Freshmen Coach at LHS. You may read between the lines as you wish from this point forward with that situation. LHS always had a good team when he was there and he did a good job. He was an assistant at LaVergne for 2-3 years before replacing Wortman there as head coach when Wort bolted for the college ranks at Morehead. He served as an assistant at Mt Juliet this year under Troy Allen (another highly regarded area coach). Believe it or not I believe Indy got a good one.

Good hire by Indy. Coach Moore will do a good job for them!

Brentwood is Brentwood, down a little this year but young. We will be talking about them at the end of May again next season. I disagree about Brentwood havinga superior coaching to Brentwood, both do a good job. In the end I think that Ravenwood has more guns this year although the rivalry will make it closer than it should be, Ravenwood +1 goal in the end. Good luck to both teams on Friday.
