  1. John Overton High School job goes to John Hopson (former assistant with Maplewood boy's) for their position.
  2. Bryce Denton from Ravenwood (Vanderbilt) Donny Everett from Clarksville (Vandy) Both should have a choice to make as they will be drafted pretty high next summer.

  4. I didn't say Ensworth was scared as I don't have a dog in the hunt BUT when Lighthouse recruits as well as Ensworth, things change, eh? And with Lighthouse not being TSSAA the recruits can play the next day they are enrolled instead of redshirting them in middle school like many of the private school teams do....
  5. Will Ensworth play Lighthouse? I heard last year that Ensworth cancelled their game with Lighthouse with less than a weeks notice?
  6. Station Camp is a very good team they just had a bad night. You can throw a lot of things out the window when traditional district rivals play one another, especially in this case when it's a well coached MJ team. Lighthouse is one of the areas best at any level with those 3 good guards! That Hamilton Heights team must be a powerhouse though to beat Lighthouse by a double digit margin. I believe the head coach of HH is Zach Ferrell who played at CPA a few years back.

  13. 12/9/2014 I don't see any scores posted except for the following; 12AAA Hillwood over McGavock by 13 Overton over Glenclifff by 18 CR/ HB score HL/ Antioch score AA Maplewood over Stratford by 10 A LEAD Academy over NCS by 2
  14. Only thing that I saw was Metro Nashville. CPA and Goodpasture don't belong in this conversation since they can recruit all over the place but still play against the AA and A teams that cannot. Both should be in the private school ranks where the really belong.
  15. AAA- Should be a good year in 12-AAA as all of the teams are pretty good and on any night all of them could beat each other. Most of the teams in the district are returning most all of their core players so it sets up to be a exciting year in the district. Returning champ CR should be viewed as the favorite but Hunters Lane, Hillsboro, Overton, McGavock, Hillwood, and Glencliff are all returning a lot from last year. AA- East Nashville just keeps on reloading and are probably the best team in Nashville once again. MLK looks pretty good with Duke and Pearl-Cohn should be pretty good too. A- LEAD Academy has been taking their knocks playing up in division but they are good and have experience to make another run at Murfreesboro once again.
  16. How about 12-AAA? The best I have seen it top to bottom in 10 years! Could be a long year for 11-AAA outside of BW come 6-AAA time.
  17. Probably so. 1) Brentwood- Brentwood is Brentwood. Shooters out the butt, but gonna have to be creative inside. Don't doubt past success. 2) Franklin- Tallest team in the district, could go to 1 or fall to 3. Well coached and lots of experienced players! 3) Indy- How good is the new guy? Lots of good young talent, a future force! 4) Dickson County- Improving young talent and well coached. 5) Ravenwood- One year away from being really good. 6) Centennial- Coach has them playing hard + they have a good move in from Indiana
  18. John Overton High School in Nashville TN will be hosting their 25th annual Holiday Tournament on Saturday 12/27, Monday 12/29 and Tuesday 12/30 and needs one BOYS' Team only to round out the tournament for this year. There is a three game guarantee to all participating teams. Participating teams include Overton, Stratford, Franklin, Independence, Spring Hill, MLK, Lighthouse Christian, Marshall County and Jemison (Huntsville, AL). Interested teams should contact Boys' Coach- James McKee- at 615-268-9384 or james.mckee@mnps.org
  19. Great event hosted by Ravenwood! The winners were; Silver Bracket Finals- Glencliff over MLK Gold Bracket Finals- East Nashville over John Overton
  20. It won't be Brentwood advancing! Overton demolished them tonight! John Overton-5 Brentwood- 1
  21. Lots of good young talent! Most of their better players are sophomores and juniors, should be a juggernaut next year.
  22. Overton threw their sophomore lefty against Oakland last night at Vandy. Probably their #3.....
  23. Workinprogress and ecu, you both are right. This year was a down year for most of the metro AAA teams. Hillsboro graduates many from it's team this year, Hunters Lane loses some this year and will graduate most everything after next season but should remain relatively strong and always be extremely well coached under Sewell. Antioch didn't have a good season and they also graduate most all of what they had. The rest of the AAA teams were all quite young this year and the league looks to be much better next year. Cane Ridge (regular season champ), Hillwood (good guards, good 10th grade group) and Overton (many injuries, dressed 6 freshmen on varsity) all graduate only one senior from their team from this season. McGavock should also return a good bit of talent (Claybrooks, Williams) and an improved Glencliff team only loses 3 players (both guards, one post). Look for things to pick up over the next few years in Nashville AAA
  24. 1) 1995? Clarksville High School- Upset in the substate at Overton High by Brandon Wharton led team (Mr. Basketball, University of Tennessee, and others who played college bball). Clarksville had two guys named Trenton Hassell and Shawn Marion who went on to play for many years in the NBA. 2) Goodpasture team from the 90's (Ron Mercer, Drew Maddux, Sam Howard) team that lost to little old Battle Ground Academy (Seth Pettus, RIP) no way in the world BGA should have won but they did!
  25. Please keep Coach Wilson in your prayers at this time.
