  1. Baylor and Brentwood Academy
  2. bumbi had a good race, strang had a great race. i think andrew would tell you banging his knee and the cold he was fighting that week had nothing to do with it. everyone is allowed to have an average day every now and then. just wait till nationals though. there will be alot of factors working in his favor, and i think we could be in for something really special.
  3. espn2 was there Monday. it'll be on saturday at 10:30...right when everyone is racing...i wouldn't be surprised if it's just a local thing though. espn2 usually allots time on sat. mornings for local shows. they did the same thing for david harrison a couple years ago and it was just broadcast in the middle tn area.
  4. actually denton jones from webb was 2nd in 15:18 followed closely by Herringshaw. and yes, andrew's time was 15:00...a very easy 15:00.
  5. cherokee chief, gifford's record was set his senior year. he ran 14:58 his soph. year, 14:53 as a jr. and 14:41 as a senior.
  6. kenwoodrun, my coach told me that MBA just got a brand new timing system and this was the reason for the delays. the new system produces basically instantaneous results but takes quite a while to get set up, etc. the old system was able to get things moving more quickly but the results took alot longer.
  7. this is not even remotely debatable. with a strong finish to the track season, bumbalough could be the best soph. in TN history.
  8. yeah, that's what i thought. how's your season going?
  9. a few things i have to say about this: 1. as has already been said, coach harper is a great coach, and an even better person. total class act and the most humble person ive ever met. with all hes accomplished in running i dont see how he doesnt tell everyone he meets how good he was. yet its like pulling teeth to get him to talk about himself. simply put, outside of my family, he's the greatest man ive ever met and someone i look up to a great deal. what i wouldnt give to have another year running for him! (and marshall smith...in my opinion, the 2 best coaches in TN). 2. like nathan said, some things coach pruitt says need to be taken with a grain of salt. when i first started running i thought he was really obnoxious and rude, but as you go on, you just start to understand his humor (wes, you should know this). when i first read his statements in the paper i laughed because i knew the tone in which he probly said them. but at the same time i knew people would make a big fuss about them. bottom line, coach pruitt's a good guy and runs a great program. i would bet money that he was totally kidding in what he said. 3. coach pruitt is not a stupid guy. he can read meet results. BA beat MBA at midsouth, and again the very next week at doug hall, and again the next week (by a very large margin, so i hear) in a three way meet. by this point if he actually thought BA was winning because of luck, he would be stupid. again i say, coach pruitt is not stupid. he was joking! sorry this was so long, but i thought i'd add my thoughts. see yall in memphis at state. peace
  10. i hear there's a 4:20 entry in the mile with bumbi. any word on if he's legit?
  11. thanks westopher....bumbi will definitely more than make up for my points though (i did score 23 i think my junior year but im trying to forget about last season) along with Ross and the others. another big loss which has gone overlooked is 2 of the top 4 or 5 hurdlers in div 2, jonathan gore and RL hesson. with that said, BA still looks strong and has filled some gaps which had plagued us during my days (ie field events) just curious, who are you trailrunner?
