  1. I think houston co. wins by 10 plus... Cascade looked like a true 4th place team in the tournament. I think they have packed it in for the season. I hope they prove me wrong
  2. WOW!! The refs were terrible. well at least the gray haired man. He was calling hand checks that had no affect on the play in the 4th quarter. He is not the only one to blame for that last travel call. The trail should of picked up that easy call. But bottom line Eagleville missed too many free throws. So the refs can not be blamed for the loss. Great season Eagles.
  3. Can anybody remember what happen the last time Culleoka had a Mr. Basketball Finalist when these two teams played? It takes 5 to win. One person can be guarded. Either by man, zone, blitzing, or a box in one. So its not like one individual has to be able to guard him. With that said Defense wins Championships. It should be a great game!
  4. You dont have be set to take a charge. both instances the players led with the shoulder. And for youngtower, the refs did not decide the game, we did by not hitting free throws and lay-ups.
  5. I enjoyed watching the Eagleville/Forrest game! It was great to see two good offensive teams shut each other down defensively. Eagleville finally figured a way to shut down Shankle. By the way he is well deserving of the district MVP. Against Forrest you have to make the role players beat you and Eagleville did a great job of that. I also thought that Forrest's defense was great too, as always. They have been the best defensive team in the district all year. That is accredited to Coach Mac and the awesome job he did with Forrest this year. When Eagleville went to man with a couple of minutes left, there was a battle down low with Aldaffer guarding Shankle. It was great to see their best against Eagleville's best. Too bad this game was not the regional final and both from 9A got to advance.
  6. Scoring 30 points does not matter because what you do in one game does not mean that will automatically happen again. I will take a 30 to 29 win anyday. Defense wins championships. Too bad this game was not the regional final and both from 9A got to advance. I think the championship game will be very tight and not as high scoring as one would think. Eagleville must make East Lit hurt them from the perimeter and limit them to one shot. Eagleville must come out with confidence and keep it close in the first quarter. I thought when our district (11A) moved to 9A, i figured the chance for sub state would be a whole lot easier. We were part of the hardest region year in and year out playing Perry Co. Collinwood, Mt. Pleasant, Wayne Co. Summertown and all those other power houses. And then we usually sent Eagleville, Culleoka, Moore Co., Forrest, Cascade. Most people would say that was the best region in the state, going on the previous 10 years. But i was wrong, our district is just as good now as back then. And based on the last two years the region has been very tough with East Lit, East Rob, and Nashville Christian. I just wish they would get rid of the satellite games and have them at one site, like they used too. Bc everyone is missing some great games.
  7. congrats richland for winning your district! you get rewarded with summertown as your first round game. thats just bad luck.
  8. Van Buren's pressure will hurt East Rob. I watched East Rob and i dont know if they can handle the ball pressure of VB. It will be a great game to watch.
  9. Region 5A Tournament: Houston Co. at Forrest- its that time of year where forrest will roll on to the sub state. Forrest by 25 McEwen at MTCS- wow these two teams are very similar with their post play. could be best game of the opening round. McEwen by 3 Van Buren at East Robertson- Van Buren's speed will give East Robertson fits. VB by 10 Eagleville at White House-Heritage- I have no idea! Eagleville beat Houston Co. near Christmas. I think Houston Co. was healthy then. So the upset is very possible. Who do you have winning and by how many points?
  10. Even though it hurts me to say it bc of his brother, Shankle will win it. I guarantee more coaches prepare for him more than any other player in the district and he still has great numbers. You can verbally committ as early as you want but can not sign until a certain date your senior year.
  11. Dec.28th Forrest vs. Jo Byrns Girls 4:30 Boys at 6:00 Eagleville vs. Cornersville Girls 7:30 boys at 8:45 Dec 29th Forrest vs Cornersville Girls 4:30 Boys 6:00 Jo Byrns vs. Eagleville 7:30 girls boys at 8:45 REMEMBER COME HUNGRY and eat at the BEST CONCESSIONS STAND IN THE SOUTH
  12. I am sick and tired of reading posts on coacht from hometown fans being so biased for their schools. Especially parents, players, and sometimes coaches. if people would post on topics using common sense and putting their school to the side, the topics and discussion would be alot more interesting to read about. i am from eagleville and cannot stand our hometown fans and players getting on here thinking that we are invincible and that their kids are the greatest. But our fans are not as bad as some on here. Supporting is different than bragging and trash talk.
  13. i am sorry for the qoute mickey who. I did not post that. i should say who did but i wont. he will dominate the district. Someone posted that he would get shelled against 2a and 3a schools. Uh no. He is very similar to David Price. Everybody knows how good he is.
  14. I apologize i have not posted in a while. Some idiots got on my name and have been posting. I care less about high school football.
  15. Please post the results for this game
  16. The championship game did not disappoint anyone. It was a great game. Eagleville won despite being down 12 around 4 minutes to go. I predict an All 9A region final. I think Forrest got the toughest draw of the region tournament by having to play 3 seed East Lit. East Lit was a 1 seed going to the district tourney. I believe Forrest is a smarter and more fundamental team than East Lit and will win. I think Van Buren and Eagleville will match up again in the semis. I do not know about the Cascade game. Cascade is a very tough 4 seed. Good luck 9A and make it a sweep.
  17. The two games tonight were great games to watch.
  18. I dont ever post, but i find it rediculus to say that there should not be any arguments that bussell is better than alsup. They are two totally different players. Bussell is hard to stop down low and alsup is hard to stop outside. They both are tremendous players that have had an excellent year. I congratulate both on great seasons. But there is not a huge gap in between them for MVP.
  19. The 02-03 team culleoka had would beat this year's team by 25+. Played against them and i have seen this years team at camp. no comparison.
  20. I have been hearing that this could be one of the most interesting regions in the mid-state to watch next season. Friendship only lost 3 starters and has to be the favorites. Gordonsville is always good, and Watertown has shown signs of improving. Who will make the playoffs, and in what order? Here are my picks: 1. Friendship Christian 2. Gordonsville 3. White House Heritage 4. Watertown
  21. I think that a big hand should go out to Community's coach Mike Edmonson because i have never seen a coach get so much out of his players with the talent he has been dealt. I loved watching them play against Forrest the other night. They are a scrappy team kind of like last year's Eagleville team. I think that they will upset someone in the region. Who does everyone think are good coaches and get the most from their players in the district.
  22. Sarah Karper for Eagleville had 37 points last night. I think she will be putting up these kind of numbers all year. Very possible a miss basketball finalist
