I should have gone to the Oak Ridge game like I had planned on doing ! My son wanted to go to this one, so I took him. I was sitting in the back of a truck which belonged to a friend of mine that I work with. Greenback's visitor stands only go to the 50 yard line so they have the normal crowd which back their trucks up to the fence to watch the game. I did not care who won, nor which side I sat on. During the game there was a coach from Coalfield which kept going down past the 35 yd. line all the way down to where ever the ball was, talking with the refs doing the chains, then he would go back up to Coach Kreis. I did not know who he was or cared, but the Greenback fans which were behind me were heckling him as to " why are you coming down past the 35, hey stay up there where you belong". I thought it was funny, but was not saying a word. Then out of nowhere one of Coalfields coach's was talking toward my direction stating that " you need to go over to your side, I looked around at the guys behind me and they said, he is talking to you. I asked him who are you talking to ? HE pointed at me and then stated, "you need to go over to your side". Well I did not have a side. I told him I don't think so, I am staying right here. HE then pointed at the score board, which Coalfield was ahead 14 to 0. I just smiled and said SO, because at the time, I really did not care. Then some little short fella with whiskers and a camera and a T-shirt that had Hensely written on the back of it, started telling me that I needed to go to my side. I should have left then and went to the Oak Ridge game like I had planned. But instead I got aggrevated and told him to put me over on the other side. HE walked on down the sideline where Coalfield scored again making it 21 to 0. Then this camera guy walks up right in front of me and just stairs at me, I ignore him at first, then he keeps on, so I said, " IF you have something to say to me then say it". HE started pointing at the score board and telling me that I needed to go to my side, I told him to make me, he first said he would, then I told him to put his camera down and come on over here and we would go down behind the stands and discuss it. HE quickly went back up his sideline and sent two security gaurds " from Morgan county" down there where I was at... You know what ? Next time I am going to go to the Oak ridge game.

Kingsh, Have you watched the film ? I have and I have Slow motion and also screen by screen, and if you want to come to my house and watch it you may. Then Together we can set it striaght as to what happen to Headrich. It is definitely a misfortune whenever any kid gets hurt. But Headrich was tackled and not at the knees, it is simple as that. He was already wearing a knee brace so there must have already been some damage done from a prior injury. For you to keep on and on saying that Midway purposely hurt this kid is rediculous. I Film for Midway and I was filming that game and talking with several of the Oakdale's players parents. I was talking with them all night ,I have known several of them for many years and nothing like that was mentioned or even brought up. Oakdale has a gutsy group of players that if these sophmores stay out, and Kyle Ruppe comes back out, they are going to win their share of ballgames over the next couple of years. King, I dont want to hear anymore about that brought up again, and I may just give you a call.

Kingsh, I don't know who you have been talking to "if anybody", But Midway knows that they do not have an easy road to handle , especially from week 2 on. I will be down there watching practice today if you would like to come down and discuss it.

Question for GIBSONJ, by any chance did you use to be a big Redskin fan ?

25 needs to be getting the football, Between him and Gilbert sharing time with it and feeding it to your full back every now and then to keep the linebackers close, Coalfield can pull this out. I like 25 at QB. He is dangerous, and with Gilbert next to him they are twice as dangerous. Coalfield has faster wheels than any team in 1a ball in East Tenn, keep them rolling North and South and watch the score board light up. The key to beating Cak is to control the football and keep pressure on their QB. IF Coalfield lines up Gilbert and # 31 at ends and brings it, Cak is liable to have less than 50 yards total offense, just watch out for the back out in the flats.

It looks like Cloudland is getting their act together, They have won their last few and beat Unaka last week for the # 1 spot in region 1. They may make a better stand in the play-offs than most were expecting: These boys have all made bowl appearances ever since they have been at Cloudland so this is nothing new to them.

Folks up until this past Friday Unaka was undefeated and was ranked in the top 10 AP polls. I believe two weeks back Unaka played Oakdale and only won 14 to 7. I know the region that Unaka is in is not as strong as normal, but They were still an undefeated team which took Oakdale lightly and about paid for their mistake. This goes back to the old saying: that on any given night, under the right conditions, anybody can beat anybody. The GreenWave better come to play !

Where are you all getting these stats, I have looked and cannot find them ?

Good ballgame Friday night Ro84, You are a big target for a QB, plus you are a ball player. You helped keep Oneida in the game as much as anyone. Oneida is as tough of a team as the waves has played all year. The Indians have a great group of players and very good coaching staff. Bear down hard the rest of the year. I would have to give the biggest hit to Bo Kidd coming across the middle and making as good of an angle tackle as I have seen on Brey. Good LicK Bo . Keep your team together and play the rest of the year with determination. You have a good chance of getting another shot at Coalfield and Midway in the play-offs. Coalfield at Midway ! What is the Radio station that cariies Oneida's ballgames ?

Midway's passion comes from wanting to Hit. THere is normally 35 to 50 spectators at Midway's practices because it is like watching a baddest man contest. I have seen as many as three fights going on at the same time at three different areas . This is the most physical team I have ever seen play ball. I played at Loudon back in the 70's and I thought we were physical. But this greenwave team is just plain Mean. I am serious, they may lose this game but it definitely want be because they did not hit somebody. Oneida better be ready for some leather popping, because it is going to happen. The backs and W/R will be taking a lot of punishment during this game. I would like to see coach Moser bottle up what ever it is that motivates this team because I would like to see it every year.

Where can I find a Roster and stats on Boyd Buchanon, I know they have won a lot of games? But here in East Tenn. we do not see any player stats... Is there a Prep sports page that keeps up with stats or does Boyd Buch. have a Web page showing football stats ?

Question: Where can I find a Roster and stats on teams in Chattanooga to be able to compare them with? example: a Leaderboard for Rushing, Receiving, Tackling, passing etc. Team Rosters.....

KingBrian, The reason I think Greenback will beat Coalfield is, that other than Oneida, Coalfield has not played anybody. The same goes for Oneida, other than Coalfield, Oneida has not played anybody. They have not proven anything to me. All the predictions claimed at the beginning of the year that Oneida was the best in the region followed by Greenback, Coalfield, CAK, and then Sunbright or Midway. No one gave the SOR gang any credit at all. These are big strong farm guys that will knock your socks off. They don't care about standings or predictions, they just want to play ball.

Hey KingBrian, Midway has never beaten Oneida at Oneida, and vice-versa . So I hope this will be a first. I also believe whole heartedly that Greenback will knock off Coalfield this Friday. It is going to be hard to keep Gregory Way out of the endzone for two straight weeks. Oneida and Midway are always tough match-ups, so I do not see that this one is going to be any different. I still feel Midway will win by two TD's or less. I do not see it being a high scoring game. I know it takes a long time for Fridays to get here !

Hey Word, I don't see anyone here thinking that Midway is going to Blow Oneida out. They are just stating the fact, Midway has two big games past them in CAK and Greenback, and Oneida has still got to face both and Midway. So Friday could put the region in prospective. Oneida needs to be prepared to get stuck regardless. This greenwave team gets real physical.

This is one of the hardest hitting Greenwave teams that I have seen. Midway has always been known to Hit harder than most even when they were not winning. But this years group has lived in the weight room all winter and still find time to lift during the season. This has been one of the keys to this years success. During the CAK game, their W/R catches the ball at the Midway two and gets a chilling lick put on him which causes him to fumble and Midway picks it up and takes to about the 30. During this Greenback game twice the W/R took punishment from the Wave secondary and coughed up the ball. Matt Long was knocked out on one of those licks, and I am gald to say was ok and returned to the game. Midway wins this one with their Beastly defense. And I agree with both Sears and Festus. They should win by two touchdowns .

Midway leads the region in rushing yards and also in Tackles. Greenback leads in total yards. This is definitely going to be a great game. Coalfield and Oneida are both very much in the running but if you dudes noticed this post was Greenback at MIdway. So who do you think we were going to be talking about ??? Walland ?

Folks, don't underestimate cack. They have 11 guys that are wanting to win real bad. I know coach Young will keep them together and even though their record does not show it, they can do some damage in the region standings. They will beat somebody that is not expecting it to happen. And Coalfield , Oneida , Sunbright , and Oakdale are who is left in the region on their schedule. They could possibly sweep all four. I would like to see Midway , Coalfield , Oneida, and anybody else but cack make the playoffs for region 2 this year, so I state again, Don't underestimate cack.

I remembered after posting that the kees made it to the qtr's last year, it is just hard for me to consider that the game with CACK was a qtr final game. That game should have been between Midway and Greeback. There is a real good possibility of both Greenback and Midway seeing each other in the quarter final this year. And you know what ? THis game could tell who will have home field advantage if we do meet. Hmmm thats cool . I know Coalfield and Oneida has a big play in that also, but I figure on CACK getting lucky and knocking one of them off, if not both. Tomorrow night is definitely going to be a good game. Grab it and growl.

Coach Moser has been the Head coach at Midway now in his fifth year. He has beaten Green back 2 of those, Gone to the play-offs every year. Won the region championship one year. Was co-region champs last year. And took the waves to the Quarter finals one year. All in the past 4 years. Hmmmm How long has it been since the Kees has been to a Qtr. Final ? Let alone semi ?

I still say this is one of the best teams Midway has had in years. They just have to get everybody healthy and play their game. Midway wins this one on the line of scrimmage and off the foot of Tanner. The Waves have better tallent and are better coached than the Kees. It is just going to take them realizing how good they really are, and playing with determination. Midway 31 Greenback 22

I have not seen Coach Kreis run the Veer Offense, They mostly have ran I Formations and wishbone. Moser ran the Veer when he was in School and that is what he has ran for the past couple of years. Before that he ran out of the Pro I. So I have a hard time seeing that Coach Moser patterns his offense after Coalfield. Now Midway and Coalfield both play hardnosed football. I see that there is a lot of similarity there, but that is as far as it goes. I Like the fan support Coalfield gets and the true football atmosphere that is in the air at coalfield. I like the music being played over the intercom and how the fans get into the ballgame. I wished Midway would pattern the music over the intercom and the fan support during the game. That is definitely lacking at Midway. I also think the two goes hand in hand, The Music helps gets the fans and the players into the game a whole lot more. Midway will beat Greenback on the line of scrimmage this week and win this game. They will also get past Oneida and will be playing Coalfield for the #one spot in the region. Both Midway and Coalfield will be playing the first round of the playoffs at Home.
