  1. Good Luck to South Pitt, but I don't think they will need it. I am looking forward to the matchup at Boyd's Homecoming. Should be another classic.
  2. Those could get ugly. I wouldnt think any of these teams would do that well playing those two teams in a matter of three weeks. Does anyone know what Boyd is doing to replace the David Brainerd game?
  3. throwing deep balls when your up by 4 TDs in the fourth is a little questionable...
  4. Coach Reynolds gets his men ready for battle and the warriors head home with a second loss to the Bucs...This will be the biggest win for coach Reynolds since taking over as the head coach. Go BUCS!
  5. I wouldnt know if they had 4 starters out but thanks for clearing it up for me. My opinion is my own but I dont think many would disagree. I think JCS probably played a little better than they are and Milan played a little worse than they are. I was not stating that I think JCS is better or that they will win, just that Milan struggled and JCS was without one of their best if not their best defensive players. I hope that both teams are at full strength Friday and that the best team moves on.
  6. He was the difference in the first game and without those scores the Bulldogs would have really been in a fight. I may get called out on this but I said it after the first game and I will say it again before this weesk game. Milan didnt impress me against JCS when they played. Infact, I would argue that outside of special teams JCS played better than Milan, They moved the ball against Milan's defense and Held their own on on the defensive side. Was JCS playing without the Cooper kid that week?
  7. The statement that this game comes down to defense has already been made and I will second that notion. Having said that I think that the Bucs have the edge when it comes to defense. They have been tested by teams like Red Bank, CAK, Loudon as well as SP and Tyner which MC has been tested by too. If you look at the game in week two as well as the body of work by both teams Boyd's 10-2 is more impressive that MC's 10-2. Boyd wins and shuts down the MC offense.
  8. Milan was barley good enough to beat USJ and nothing against them but there is no chance this years Milan team could stay on the feild with Maryville. I cant believe this has even come up on this thread but with some Milan dreamers out there I shold have known. Have you ever seen Maryville play? Milan wouldnt get within 35 yards of scoring and the mercy rule would be in effect...worry about 2A west TN and then Alcoa and not ever about Maryville.
  9. Why do you say McCallie's defense is better than Boyd's?
  10. Other schools have lean years too and have stilled played up. Many private schools do not recruit and I honestly dont know that any actually recruit. It is true that they have the luxury of anyone from anywhere enrolling at those schools but it doesnt always equal success....see Boyd in the 80's and early 90's. But when things got going the coaches and players said if we want to be all we can be we have to play better teams. Since then they have had down years but it still says something about a program that wants the challenge year in and year out. SP may not be able to change the region they are currently in but according to an earlier post they have until the 27th to change the future region they are in and it seems like coach Grider would lwant the challenge....by the way Boyd and other non division II schools are going to be playing schools with much larger enrollments than them, does that make any sense?
  11. If SP wasnt dominating their 1A competition right now this wouldnt be an issue but if they really are that loaded and if their younger players and middle schoolers are that good it seems like that may enjoy the level of play at 2A. There will still be some terrible teams in 2A but with Signal Montain and Boyd in 2A a championship would at least look better...killing everyone in 1A will only make more people wonder why they wouldnt move up if they had a chance. SP fans...ohter small schools have played up many times including Goodpasture playing 2A with 1A enrollment, Brentwood Acadamy, Ensworth playing in the larger private division, Boyd scheduling teams like Baylor, Red Bank, Rhea Co, East Ridge, Cookville...not saying SP should play up but they should schedule tougher teams out of region. Having said all that I think Boyd will be a great tema in 2A.
  12. Boyd is a number 2 or 3 in the state right now...
  13. From a scoring perspective USJ played Milan closer than Camden so how messed up is it? As far as putting Milan at #4 I think it is pretty reasonable. Its just my opinion but I think that Milan is very beatable, and I think that Tyner and Boyd are far better than anyone Milan has played and I beleive would come out on top of a head to head matchup and so I rank them 4th.
