  1. Farragut 50 Maryville 49 Heritage 54 WB 49 Hmmmmmm thumb
  2. FIFTYZ are they still going to the district. region and substates or has TSSAA already granted them a free ticket to states.
  3. I am not sure when Cait the Great scored her 1000 pt, but it was in her sophmore year and that was only her second year, she has now surpassed 2000 pts in her junior year. She has maintained a 20+pt average since she suited up for her first game as a freshman. Don't know if that is a record pace or not...but it is good. No telling where she would be at if she were allowed to play as an 8th grader.
  4. ooldrebel, I agree..Blount County continues to be blessed with the guards.
  5. tophat, I agree...Congrats to young lady...God first, Sunday mournings and Weds nites off limits...period. No reason has to be given. I have three and every school, college or high school, has honored that position. If Cloudland has done this....Cloudland, in my opinion, is a bad name in Tennesse schools.
  6. TNT...I know you are being sarcastic...but the answer is no....just 2 and 3 years ago Alcoa swept them...last year, didn't they split....Alcoa program is in good hands...it will turn around again.
  7. Hopi and Coacht...we will continue to pray for both of your families...wishing you the best this season.
  8. ballfan, do you have a schedule???
  9. Ditto....News Sentinal also has it posted wrong...the final score was Heritage 68 Bearden 45
  10. MJ, Mt Juliet is for real...not new news. They proved that this summer. They are not a one player team. Congrats..take it in stride. 85, you are right...it is a long season....the word Shelbyville means girl's basketball...no one over here in the east is forgetting that...
  11. Good Luck to the Alcoa Tornadoes Football team..get another one!!!!
  12. And as I asked before, are there any others from Blount county doing anything. Govman, maybe you know. I know there is a freshman at Central, that used to play at Alcoa Middle, is doing great...She is the quickest freshman guard I have seen and has a great three pointer...I think her number is 12, a guard. She looks to be the best out of Blount County (at least that is where she started). Coach Brown could really use her now...maybe she will move back.
  13. Yes, they are the real deal Yes, they do have one of the best programs and finally, they land somewhere between regions and states (a long season...injuries ..etc.)
  14. Live, Jack or Adco...is the Dupree you posted Emily...she is getting better each year. She will help that team alot. Also, Faith Dupree...she is still in 8th this year. She will be the second part of the one-two punch. They both have alot of summer playing time experience.
  15. Jerome...are these the girls from the Stingers...if so, I would expect them to make an impact...first, because they are good, second, because they have been playing together and finally, AE did lose some good players over the last two years...goodluck. dheat, how does Meridith compare to Cait M.(Heriage), Angela P.(WB) and Kara H. (Alcoa). What kind of impact do you think she will have compared to these three. Also, how does she compare to the other freshman in Blount County or in District. Looking forward to seeing her play.
  16. dk...you need to see a little more basketball. As mentioned 35-40% is good to very good. It is not a sign of greatness. And because you shoot 35-40% from beyond the arc doesnot mean you will shoot 60% from everywhere else. The Knoxville News Sentinal shows the stats thru out the season for the eastern part of the state. There are many 3point shooters over the 30% mark. Some even achieve the 40% mark. These few should be the ones to be recognized. This string of posts should hold as a minimum of 35% -45% shooting percentage as a bar. I do not have any stats to back me up for this last year, but from what I have seen this summer, the guard from Powell hs and Heritage hs need to be on this list. They both have and will continue to pass this bar.
  17. Cutie...just curious, what is LaToya's assists per game, steals per game and "turnover to assist ratio" per game. I know Coach Summitt looks at those numbers closely for a point guard.
  18. showtime7 ...is there a reply to confirm registration?
  19. I am disappointed in you HSBBWEB, Jeremy Stache, (Alcoa HS - 2002) Army Black Knights, soph Third Base...has started every game All Patriot League Second Team 2004 League and Tourney champs NCAA BID ...2004 Maybe Army will be down here in the south to play Regions. and as far as history goes...the Eagleton team of Reece M, Jeremy S, Mark R. John Clay Garland and many others went as far as anyone from the recent history of Eagleton teams...one game short of the Senior's World Series....thanks mainly to Coach Robby Bennett of Heritage.... Give Robby time, he will get Heritage to states.
  20. Congratulations, Alcoa wins their substate....going to spring fling....enjoy your trip Anyone with details ...would like to hear.
