  1. mt juliet has more than one good player...friday should be a good game with Josh Helton from MJ goes against Andy Wicke from Hendersonville...great match up
  2. Golfer, You have a good point. There will always be crooked people in organizations it's a fact of life. You can always dream though of a world of honest people. Another thing that affects officals is the game itself. No matter how good your intentions are going into the game if you get a loud bunch of fans yelling at you due to a bad call or players talking back your mind set about what is fair or not will change. It is human nature yelling at officals will not swing things your way. If anything they will work against you...there again human nature. To temper your name is no joke get off Golfer for using the word travesty, but as for overseas I don't follow overseas basketball but i bet the officals are the same there. haha
  3. Givbakr2 I see you are not much for coaching or else you would understand Coach Fryers strategy. So I will give you a little insight. First of all Mt. Juliet is known for there press and hard defense. Mt. Juliet not pressing would be as rare as Alicia Clark not having a double-double. You said Hillsboro handled Mt. Juliet early on..That's great you couldn't ask for a better chance to press than in a real game situation when you are down!...Besides if you ask me MJ's coach helped both teams out. Mt. Juliet needed work on their defense so thats what they did. Hillsboro's learning by letting their younger players play against the press.(You can't shield your younger players forever why not start in the preseason.) Hillsboro's record is nothing like Fryer's record. Hillsboro plays no one. and about your comment that Fryer was seeking revenge on the younger players like he is some sort of predator haha I'm not even gonna waste my time on that. -
  4. Not so fast my friend. Wilson Central is getting too much credit here. I would be extremely shocked if Central can beat Smyrna. I do believe they are getting better with each year, and eventually they will get where they want to be. This year however will not be the one. Smyrna could keep the ball on the ground the entire night and come away with a win. It has already been done. Mt. Juliet's win over Wilson Central consisted of only 4 passes. Wilson Central's front 7 cannot get the job done. Smyrna's QB has more talent and better judgement than Coffee County's QB. I think he could pick the zone apart and thats even if he needs to. I am not bashing Wilson Central I just think they are out matched this game. I do think Wilson Central can beat Siegel and Blackman this year. Remember though anyone can be beaten on any given night. If Central does win it will be bigger than beating Coffee County.
  5. If you don't like getting your butt kicked play defense
  6. Well it looks as though the old Mt. Juliet defense is back (past 2yrs defense). I saw the worst defense of the year last night. Mt. Juliet does not know how to tackle with the new coaching there. I seriously doubt they know what aggression is. I cannot blame the players though for its their coach. Ive played under two coaches and this man knows nothing about football. Full pads one day a week? You have to be joking. My senior year we asked him to go full pads 3 days a week and he said no. Two hand touch obvioulsy does not work on friday nights as you can tell cause they tried all night long. I hear we have a good Jr. High program this year and hopefully the current coach will be gone by then cause one thing for sure Mt. Juliet dosent allow a coach to lose to Lebanon back to back years. Getting rid of Dan Winfree was the worst mistake their principal has made. Winfree had full pads practice 3 days a week with working nothing but smashmouth offense and aggressive defense..He's at Watertown now and well I wonder how he is doing..Go take a look. I guranantee they know how to hit!
  7. Not so fast my friend. Let's take a closer look at this game for a second. Lebanon hasen't exactly had the easiest schedule up to this point. Antioch..undefeated I have no idea where they were at last year but someone put this team together and they are the real deal. Next .. Cookeville who has lost one game to undefeated Coffee county. That leaves us with Riverdale aside from their state runner up from last year and their one loss in their rebuilding year they're not exactly a pushover. I think this game will be a lot closer than everyone anticipates. Mt. Juliet's defense is looking better the past two games but that brings us back to coachchris86's comment of a combined 1-7 record for their opponents. Stats do not matter in rivalry games it is just about who wants bragging rights for 365 more days. Go Bears.
  8. Haha Mt. Juliet swept Brentwood Academy this year..yeah thats right a public school..B.A. is not that good both Gallatin and Columbia play teams that would rip B.A. keep dreamin and recruiting...
  9. Wow buddy I think you are getting a little carried away. West Tennessee does not control boys basketball..the city of Memphis does so do not get anything confused. Actually I will take things a little further Memphis does not own basketball..granted they are all good teams, but are just about even with everyone else. White Station owns boys basketball in TN, ..not Memphis and especially not west tennessee all credit should be given to White Station..by the way congrats to them on their massacre against DB its about time someone gave them a reality check..I dont see anyone beating WS...
  10. Not so fast my friend...I am normally not a hendersonville fan, but I follow their region and I think they will take Columbia and yeah I know they have Fred and everybody else and trust me Fred is a machine believe me I have experience against him (football) but Hendersonville has exceptional perimeter shooting and passing they are quick in tansition and Andy Wicke is a natural leader. Give Hendersonville's coach a couple more years and he will be the Coach Rankin of basketball. Gallatin is another team that has something to prove. Ever since Mt. Juliet gave them a thumping in Districts they have woken up and are playing good basketball look for them to be a possible cinderalla team..
  11. Well thats all great and everything but I know more to that story. I will, however, not post the rest on here because I do not want a huge confrontation about it. Mt. Juliet proved its point tonight and came out on top. I would like to say I tip my hat to Carrigan she played yet another good game just like she has basically the whole tournament. I also think if Maddox would had stayed on her feet more instead belly-flopping to the ground she would had been a huge threat..and may have possibly not had gotten hurt but anyway... What's done is done Good Luck to Beech represent 9AAA, and for the Bears I will see you Saturday Night at HOME!
  12. Well personally I hope Mt. Juliet pounds Beech. I was going to wish them both the best of luck, but then I was told last night when Christy Welch for Mt. Juliet dislocated her finger that the Beech girls basketball team was making fun of her and laughing...but then again that is typical Beech.
  13. Really..this is interesting i wanted to stay and watch but my ride wanted to leave what kind of show boating was going on?
