  1. Not saying this with hurt towards small school privates, but there is a huge difference in playing DII-A and DI-AAA ball. Two years ago, I watched Riverdale's JV (with no Whittington twins or Alexander bc they were starting varsity) beat Knoxville Webb's Varsity (without Scheets..She was hurt. Rest of Webb's team was there) bad in a playdate. Webb won the DI-A state championship that season. The competition isn't the same on that level. The stage isn't big enough, and skill sets would go way down playing in that level of competition... especially playing east TN level ball every night, even tho there is AAU in the summer. Webb is a school that is Pre-K thru grade 12. Outside of the two kids playing at Riverdale now, if you knew the family, you would also know they have a grade school kid and a middle school kid as well, so they would be enrolling not just 2, but 4, and Webb ain't cheap, and no one goes for free in D-II, contrary to what people say or think. That would be a ton of tuition....more than most make a year, and no tax deductions for it. Besides...Knoxville is only a 3 hour drive. That is why until Fall enrollment, I call it gossip, and best left to what it is...hearsay. Let's move on to talking about something else in the thread. Rumors and gossip don't belong....especially since this thread was about 2017 state tournament predictions, and the state has been played out now with champions crowned.
  2. We can have this conversation when next season rolls around. As of now, you are just spreading gossip.
  3. Nothing that has been heard from Team Riverdale. I also have sources....called the head coach.
  4. Riverdale's 6,7,8,9,10 would start at most any high school. If someone leaves...Just the way it is. Team ball is bigger than individual ball. I for one don't think anyone is leaving. Why leave the best program in the country as a starter unless you think you are bigger than the team....which no one is bigger than the team...
  5. Another Riverdale hater... Just so you know UCSportsFan, Riverdale's main feeder school just won the 2017 TMSAA State Championship as well. Looks like we get to reload for another year. Oh wait...is that another Hayes kid and Brinae Alexander's little sis in the pic??? There are some really good players on this Christiana team. You want to know if the talent is local? There is your answer. These are future Riverdale Lady Warriors. Things look bright for Riverdale for years to come. If you can't beat 'em....hate on 'em...
  6. I am really confused. Does Clark Range have no point guard? Meadows takes the ball down the court much of the time. I think that is gonna bite em in the end. Meadows can score at will bc no one can guard her under the basket.
  7. Just found out Central is like Riverdale. Basically the whole team is back next year. Riverdale will miss Annie. Big shoes to fill.
  8. Riverdale 66 Central 59 Final Riverdale 2017 State Champions and National Champions
  9. Some kids play DII by choice...Not because they had no DI offers. When it comes to girls basketball, nobody is going to the WNBA and college is normally the stopping point. Last year, only 8 kids in the whole country got on a WNBA roster. Even if you make the team, there is no huge payout unless you are like a Candice Parker. Also, the average attendance unless you are the Lady Vols or UCONN, etc, you will play in front of less than 1,000 people at an average DI game. My kid played in front of 2500+ in high school on any given night of a big game, and some even bigger. I am saying this because no one really cares about women's basketball as a whole. The main thing is to use it to go get educated. Many DII players could play DI, but choose where they are going to school because they have the right mindset. To some, it is a feather in their cap to play DI and sit on the bench for 2-4 years just to show the world they played at a DI school, but in the end...Who cares. I would rather my kid go get educated at Union University in a great atmosphere than some heck hole, underfunded low DI program any day. For most kids, they have to get a job someday, and basketball comes to an end. I would rather a kid be happy. Again... Just because the kid plays DII doesn't mean they couldn't play DI. They choose the school for a reason. You can get a free ride and full scholarship in DII just like you get in DI. My kid plays DII in a super wealthy, over the top area. She knew where she wanted to go, and committed after her sophomore year. Was recruited very hard as a freshman and sophomore by DI schools. She told me what she wanted in a school, and I left it to her to make a choice. Lots of DI talent kids choose DII bc of choice...Not bc they have to. As a parent, I don't pay a dime of anything for her to go to a $48k a year private school with the values I appreciate as well as she does.
  10. Gosh. What year was Bradley Central started, and did it always go by the name Bradley Central?
  11. Agree. The scary thing is the whole starting lineup and the top 8-10 kids will be back next year with the exception of Annie Hayes.
  12. Last year, Riverdale beat Memphis Central in the Semis, 80-58. Anything can happen, and Memphis Central will be very athletic, but I don't think they can last 4 quarters with Riverdale. Riverdale didn't have one of their best games today, and still thrashed Houston by 19 points. Houston beat Memphis Central this year by like 10. I believe Riverdale is cranking on all 8 cylinders, and has peaked at the right time. I believe there will be another Gold ball setting in the Riverdale trophy case come tomorrow, as well as a National Championship. Again, anything can happen, but I don't see anyone in TN beating Riverdale.
  13. Hey! One thing I know about Annie is she is a tough kid. I believe her leg could be falling off and she would still be wanting out on the court. She didn't seem to miss a beat in the first game. My daughter is doing well. Had a great freshman year. Averaged about 6ppg. She loves the FL weather. On the beach all the time. It will be hard to ever get her home...lol! Thank you for asking.
  14. Well.....there ya go! Stewarts Creek goes down. Goes to show that every game is important and most all teams are good in the State Tourney. It is not easy to get there for any team.
  15. Riverdale has all the respect in the world for Stewarts Creek, and if they both make it to the Championship game, Riverdale will not take them lightly. Stewarts Creek is dangerous. Both teams have to earn the right to play in that game though, and both have to play it game by game...starting with the first round. Anyone can get knocked off in this tourney on any given day...Riverdale included. Every game has to be taken serious.
  16. Yep. It would just be a repeat of the District and Regional Championship.
  17. Looks like after watching the tssaa draw is the only way Riverdale and Stewart's Creek will meet is if they both make the championship game. They are on opposite sides. Riverdale gets Mo West first in a deja vu of last year, and Stewart's Creek gets Dickson Co. Oak Ridge plays Memphis Central and Clarksville plays Houston in the opening round!
  18. Are you the guy I see when Chattanooga TV stations cover Bradley Central on sports, sitting behind the bench wearing a Peewee Herman suit and propeller hat, picking his nose and eating boogers? You get those kind of numbers when you play JV caliber teams. I am in agreeance with Indian. You are a troll. I have never heard in my 15 years of being on this board more idiotic and delusional comments as the ones you have put out. It might be smart for everyone to ignore this fool when he makes these crazy remarks. He makes no sense.
  19. Man.....Riverdale averages 77 points a game, and is 8th in the US in total points scored a game playing a tough schedule. The whole starting lineup and a few on the bench already have DI offers. The lowest point total they had all year was 52. BC is a 3-4th best team in 7-AAA this year at best. You are delusional.
