  1. LOL....What skin do you have in this? First thing is Oak Ridge hasn't won a Championship in 20 years. Players off that team now are 35-38. Some might be grandmothers. Oak Ridge comes out of a weak area for basketball.....which is east TN.
  2. What you are not getting is that CoachT does not take in consideration the multiple out of state teams Riverdale plays. CoachT does not even recognize Hamilton Heights out of Chattanooga as a team who is a top 10 team in the US.Those games are not counted. Riverdale does not go out of the state of TN to take on patsy teams. They look to play good teams or teams that have a history of being good teams to get them ready to play the state championship. Also, you may not be aware, but Tennesee 7-AAA is arguably the toughest district in the United States which equals the WHOLE world. There have been times in the past 2-3 years where Oakland, Riverdale and Blackman have all been ranked at the same time in the top 20 in the country. 7-AAA produced two national championships back to back from two separate teams in Riverdale and Blackman in the past 4 years. Here is a little story this week out of Arizona for you that was published about the quality of basketball in the Boro... Last year....Riverdale finished 3rd in the District....then won the State Championship. #1 Team in the US. I really don't think you have good knowledge on girls basketball, but appreciate your enthusiasm for Bradley Central who hasn't won a state title in 41 years since 6v6. http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/high-school/2017/02/08/rutherford-girls-basketball-teams-consistently-national-spotlight/97573836/
  3. You have very good basketball knowledge and understand the problems BC would face. Posts at Riverdale are faster and skilled with the ball than most DI guards. Actually all players on the floor for Riverdale are guards and going to play the next level. No one is over 5'10" and fast. HS game is different than college, and height doesnt matter. Why Riverdale is #1 in the Nation.
  4. Thanks Anotherback. You are right. I missed that they played in the glass house for a state title and lost to Shelbyville 43-53 in 1995. Shelbyville had a 33-2 record that year, and BC finished 35-3 according to records. Here is the TSSAA record book. http://tssaa.org/departments/tssaa-state-records/ . I stand corrected. They haven't played for a state title in 22 years. Still though... a team like BC should not go 41 years without a state title with the basketball tradition they put up in their gym to show everyone. They cannot be considered one of the great teams in TN if they have a 41 year drought. For the record...Riverdale took down all national championship, state championship, regional and district banners hanging from the walls when Coach Coffman came in last year. In their place are very small banners one might not even notice. The locker room was repainted, and all references to past teams removed.
  5. Yep...And one of those 4 BC home loses you are talking about was to Riverdale by 7 in the 13-14 season. I was there. Really nice gym.
  6. Last time I went to "Jim Smitty" arena, Riverdale beat probably the best team your school ever had with the twin towers by 7. That was the 13-14 season. Bradley Central hasn't won a State Championship in girls basketball since 1976 (41 years ago) when they were playing 6 v 6, nor have they played in a State Championship game since 1976. Way too many modern day District and Regional flags proudly flying high in "Jim Smitty" Arena. 41 years is a long drought for such a "dominant team" in East TN to not have at least one State Championship. It has been so long, the 5 state championships that were won by BC would be by nowdays grandmas and great grandmas playing in the old 6 v 6. Y'all are riding on granny's coat tails as far as tradition.
  7. Blackman got put out because they flat out just got beat. Blackman won the first two games during the regular season by a combined 5pts. There was no throwing a game so Riverdale could go play in the state. Blackman lost in the Regional semis to Riverdale. Blackman also lost to Stewarts Creek in the regular season. 7-AAA is not a cake walk. Now you are stretching things and sounding ridiculous. As for Oakland, it was not intentional. The kid legitimately moved with her mother, but a family member lived in the other home and utility was not taken out of their name nor was the lease changed is what I understand. I am not an Oakland fan by far, but Coach Jennifer Grindstad runs a clean program. This was the first time the team has been sanctioned in the 30 years she has coached there. I will give the program the benefit of the doubt.
  8. I didn't say you in particular hated, but you insinuated that most Riverdale kids transferred to the school, when that is far from the truth. All started out there as freshmen except for Annie Hayes. I saw Shelbyville back in the day, and they were amazing. That matchup would be interesting and would have loved to see it. Not sure Shelbyville was playing the same caliber of teams in the day, as nationally girls bball wasn't as big and training (kids are bigger, faster, stronger and overall much more skilled today than even 10 years ago) wasn't the same in sports, but I will not take anything away from Shelbyville. They played who was their competition and won a couple national titles, and 10 state championships. They were the most dominant team in TN and one of the greatest in the country for their era.
  9. Not sure what you are talking about. Blackman did not get caught cheating. Please tell me your info. I have never heard that rumor.
  10. No degrading...Just the truth. I am a fan, but no dog in the fight. I have seen both teams, and they will not knock off Riverdale. It isn't gonna happen bc the teams don't match up. They could win if Riverdale forgets to show up, but outside of that....Not gonna happen. People pull against Riverdale anyway, so what does it matter. People hate in the NFL the NE Patriots... In college football Alabama... In women's college b-ball the Lady Vols (in their heyday) and UCONN. In TN high school football they hate Brentwood Academy, and in TN girls b-ball, they hate Riverdale. The reason why they are all hated is bc they win year in and out. When they have dominate years they are accused of cheating or haters make up excuses like everyone transferring in like you did earlier, when the truth is they just work hard and take the sport very serious. People hate winners and want to see them loose. Been watching it for years.
  11. Hands down it is Riverdale, who is #1 in the nation according to USAToday, and #2 in the nation according to M A X P R E P S super 25. ALL kids have been there except Annie Hayes since enrolling their freshman year, and she came as a sophomore. Most came thru Christiana Middle School, who just won a State Championship themselves.
  12. I'll be looking at the 2017 Gold Ball next to the others in the Riverdale trophy case next year when I go in to watch them compete for the 3rd in a row for another Gold Ball. No one kid themselves. No team in TN is knocking off the #1 team in the United States for a State Championship. Most talented team and best coach that will be in the Glass House.
  13. Certainly you are kidding. Neither of those two teams can play with Riverdale. The last time Riverdale played Cumberland Co last year, they beat them by 20. CC (currently ranked #10 in TN AAA...Riverdale beats Top 10 Nationally by 19) had McKenzie Isles, a 2,000 point scorer in her career leading that team. They also had a couple of other Sr starters that played well. They are not as good this year, I can assure you. Also, you think Oak Ridge is gonna upset Riverdale and play BC in the state championship? Last year, Riverdale beat Oak Ridge by 32 points in the State Championship after Oak Ridge beat Bradley Central 38-31. Practically the whole Riverdale team is back. I have had my good laugh for the day. Not saying polls are everything and there can be upsets, but since you brought it up, Bradley Central is not in the Top 25 expert rankings in USAToday. They are in computer rankings for USAToday, but computers do not go to HS games, nor do computers see how girls play. They are just fed the data they are given. Here is the most recent USAToday Girls Basketball Poll according to expert rankings, which is what is used to crown the national champ http://bit.ly/2lHF7c5 . See that team ranked by the experts who see games at #8, which is Norcross High? Riverdale shellacked them by 19 points this season.. Not sure where you are coming at Riverdale hasn't played anybody. Riverdale is ranked #1 in the nation. Riverdale is ranked by ESPN as the #9 team in the nation. Bradley Central is not on that poll either. Here is the link: https://goo.gl/0EBCqL . Riverdale is also ranked #2 in the nation by M A X P R E P S Super 25, which is how they decide the national champ. Bradley Central is not on that poll. Here is that link. https://goo.gl/5CoSVL . BCs Rhyne Howard is definitely a good player. I watched her play in the state tourney last year. Strong kid and very talented. ESPN scouts say she is a 4 star player and #38 overall in her class of 2018, and graded out a 93 overall. If both teams play in the Championship game, a Howard vs Riverdale's Brinae Alexander matchup (ESPN 4 star player graded 92 and the #42 player overall for 2018 class) will be huge. If that matchup isn't there, then maybe Riverdale's Alexis Whittington (MTSU commit and ESPN 3 star in the 2018 class and graded 89) will be fun to watch. Riverdale's Annie Hayes is a an ESPN 5 star player, ranked #9 overall in her class of 2017, and graded a 98. She graded out the same 98 as Crystal Dangerfield at UCONN. There is also Riverdale's Aislyn Hayes, who is ESPN graded a 90 and rated the #8 combo guard in the class of 2019 with an offer from UTK. Last but definitely not least, I am sure you remember watching Riverdale's MTSU 2018 commit Amanda Whittington last year get all tourney after crushing teams with her 3 pt shot. Alasia Hayes is only a freshman, but ESPN is already taking notice. She averages 8.5ppg, and also has an offer from the Lady Vols. Riverdale returned 4 starters from last years state championship team, and have even more role players than they had last year. They are a better team than last year's Championship team. All starters have DI offers, and have committed or signed (Hayes at UTK). Players coming in the game off the bench also have DI offers as well as smaller schools. With the exception of Annie Hayes graduating, the same team will be back next year for 2018. I don't see the Gold Ball leaving the Riverdale trophy case for years. Unless you have seen Riverdale play, it is hard to compare. They play in a different gear than other teams in TN. The national experts agree with what I have posted by how they vote. My bet is that if they play.... Bradley Central will be playing Riverdale's JV team the last 2-5 minutes if not before, like the 4th quarter of the State Championship last year against Oak Ridge. The score could have been worse. It was ugly and BC couldnt beat OR.
  14. You are right. I'll be honest......I don't even know the names of 80+% of these kids on that All-Co list. Most transferred out. The Boro is highly industrial and transient. I only recognize 6 Kids out of 23 to play in Rutherford Co at all, and that includes MTCS. I go to a lot of 7-AAA games. One kid is at BA and one graduated early. People move in and out.
  15. Two kids who made the 2012-13 All-County Team in Middle School of the 5 starters at Riverdale and they were in 7th grade, when an All-County team is normally about the 8th graders.. They are both now Jrs. Most forget about one of these on the All-Co team that has a sister that starts as well. That is 3 of 5 starters. Annie transferred in. That is 4. Most of the rest came from Christiana. Look at the roster. http://t.unapproved website.com/2lD8KvZ
  16. Thanks Indian. 4-5 years old though. Only two kids graduating this year off Riverdale's team. It is a loaded soph-jr team. Riverdale's kids would have been in 7th grade. I do see two Riverdale players, but they would have not been 8th graders.....7th grade. Both kids are 2018 grads
  17. Man....you cannot count kids that go to a middle school then to Riverdale. That is not transferring in to a program. For that matter....what family does not move on average every 5 years, which is the national average. Murfreesboro is high industrial and transient. Families move. I can give you a roster right now of Riverdale, and every kid except Annie started the school their freshman year. Here it is. http://t.unapproved website.com/2lD8KvZ
  18. You are right. It is how mammas and daddies or maybe fans try to explain why their kids get destroyed in a game when they think their team is pretty good. My oldest went a little while to CPA as well. People on the outside want to make excuses. The real reason is their team just isn't as good. They need to get out of the poor mouth biz.
  19. Dude....you are so full of it. The only kid that transferred from another high school to Riverdale is Annie Hayes after her freshman year, and she didn't even play a full freshman year. All other kids have been at Riverdale since enrolling in the fall as freshmen. Most came out of Christiana Middle School. Quit spreading that crap.
  20. Here we go again...same talk, another year. I thought I was just gonna fade away and lurk this year and not comment. Just as last year...most all came thru the Christiana Middle School feeder program....who...incidentally... just won the State Championship for Middle School last week. This gets old. The only kid that transferred in on this team since they have been in middle school is Annie Hayes, who did as a sophomore, and legally. That was three seasons ago. All kids on this team outside of her have been at Riverdale since they were Freshmen. Outside of her, no one left a high school to transfer in. You commenting on Riverdale's players is like me commenting on where the kids in your neck of the woods in West TN Gainesville came from. You don't know the program...you just want to talk negativity bc Riverdale wins on the national level....and at the moment #1 in the US. The kids just play at a higher level than others. Girls basketball to Murfreesboro is like wresting to the Chattanooga area...but on a national level.
  21. Lets just stay on topic then.....There are many that can come back to the Boro in the Glass House in AAA and be happy they made it....but they will compete for the Silver Ball for the next 3-5 years
