  1. it disappoints me in the fact this years team had almost NO injures... compared to my senior season (2004) and still only won three games. we were without IMO the best overall QB SH has seen in 5-6 years Brandon Shoun and a WR in Justice Joslin playing QB and still won four games and gave DB a decent game when they were ranked number one in the state, also our three-year starter at fullback JD Scott was down from a S. South scrimmage AND our Pre-season all-state FS Drew Turner was out by the Betsy game to name a few.... we were playing with so much inexperience it was stupid and still managed to win four games. I know it is only one more but the talent level was SO much higher this past season as well as an offense that is exciting, we were running the I-formation with a undersized oline. It just urks me that my team finished better than this MORE talented team... good luck next year... Adams, Kinley, Green, and Smith are going to have to step up big this next year they are the most talented returning IMO.
  2. Watts is the reason they stunk it up. and Randy Ferrell... OR STEVE SPURRIER (big lol, jk)
  3. SHHS should have won this game, i don't care what any of you say. yes DB won, props. but SHHS played better IMO though. Best game since the 02 game
  4. yeah that '04 team took it to them in the first half making everyone say "What the heck?" then depth and athleticism (not to mention speed) took over to a roll for DB. go Toppers
  5. Ohio football is better than the rest of the nation. (sorry gotta rep the home state)
  6. ...yeah but in '04 we put up 49 on bearden breakout games for shoun and joslin... in fact it was the game shoun broke his hand to ruin our playoff hopes im still bitter. haha
  7. ah yes, Sevier Co... as you pull in with the fence and all the flags out in front of the school you know you're in for a treat. then you get back to the field where it's a huge one sided (the home side) steep buncha seats. and the slope on the field is crazy as is the sloppyness if it rains. during the 2004 i got so muddy it was ridiculous.... i really hope SHHS would throw more and open up the spread offense, i feel they can't throw very well because tucker doesn't seem comfortable. i want to see 200+ (at least) yard passing games! look for a big game from solomon (who SHOULD be the starter and get almost every carry at this point) my pred.... Sevier Co. 21 SHHS 20... going all the way down to the 4th qtr. btw, that Danny Thomas for the Vikings is gonna be a good one. shoulda started him last year over Booher (heh)
  8. dobyns-bennett...i hate to say it is probably right up there
  9. David Alexander is as closest thing to Joslin as they have. He's got the same potential in every aspect and has shown a little already this year
  10. Look for a big game by Green, Ferguson, and Trent (SH LB's)
  11. dang why was it so lopsided...is THS really that good this year?
  12. I'm still taking DB (big)... I don't see a "KNOX KARNS UPSET" at Bearden happening this friday... SH has the week off at least
  13. Betsy has three first hard games. They could squeek this one out, I am unsure of who plays for TN High at all now, but if they can contain their run game they may be alright because I never knew of a TN High team that passed much... Smith is a good player and they NEED a run game. If E-Town wins.. they will run the table unless South SHOWS UP in their game with them..
  14. Cleveland Glennville. enough said.
  15. SH 21 Betsy 7.... SH 2-0 Betsy 0-2.... Micah with three picks! Big game for Solomon (lightining)... 4 games in a row for the Hill... game was sorta boring after the first half (listening anyway) GO TOPPERS looks like the Topper D is back... didnt get burnt by the Elizabethton WR's
  16. tonights the night kids... Cyclones and Toppers in Betsy... expect people standing around the edge of the field watching the game... the 2002 game was like that and was amazing. I won't be there... work, but will try to catch it on the radio. Good luck to both teams with NO injuries but hopefully the Toppers come out on top. My updated pred: SHHS 24 Betsy 17 Hopefully this is a better game than South/DB
  17. did any of the guys on the show go to play somewhere....besides Tebow haha
  18. this is pathetic? either DB is legit state contenders finally... or South had a bad night...or South is OVER RATED.
  19. every Science Hill and Betsy game has been close since I was a sophmore at SH many years back...like the 02 season. It came close that year and it was the last time Elizabethton had won, SH failed to come through on the last drive, that's back when they had the greats of Walter Brown? i think was his name, Vince Redd, and Ryan Curtis among others.... next year was also close in '03 with SH taking the game 9-7... 04 was also close 24-13... game was a lot closer than the score... and this last years with that OT thriller. THIS GAME IS ALWAYS TOUGH NO MATTER THE PLAYERS PLAYING. due to the rivalry is why it's always close/tough. This year expect no different but I think it will be the best game in the past five years with all the talent on the field. SH's defense looks to be back and dominant maybe not the caliber of the '03 team (then again it's going to be a long time before that happens again) but I think their defensive backs will be able to keep up with the receivers of Betsy with the quickness they have, the only thing is to contain Smith. the only other QB they've faced that likes to run is probably the guy from Sevier from last year. Contain him and stick the WRs and the game is the Hill's again for the 4th year in a row. Betsy does have depth at the WR position but so does SH they just need to get the passing attack down to become well rounded. Look for a big night from Nat and Solomon as well as from Ben Murray on defense. Issac Kinley looked very impresive against Central with his couple huge plays, kid is going to be nice as time goes on. My prediction... SH 20 E-town 13
  20. I just read Curt Phillips had 5 TD's (2 running 3 passing) against Happy Valley (yeah, i know it's Happy Valley but still...) and was pulled with like 8 mins to go in the second quarter. wow. I haven't seen this guy play at all but I really would like to sometime this season, if I wasn't going to the Eliz/SHHS game I'd def. be at this one! I'll give my pred. later in the week..
  21. another quick interesting note, i do believe i saw a West Virginia scout in the stands but he left when it began to spit rain, not sure why.... maybe not interested? i'm sure he was looking at David Alexander and Ben Murray among some others possibly. by the way I noticed that there are a TON of players out this year and everyone is huge, great plus for SHHS finally some people WANT to play football there. when i was there we had to beg people.
  22. Got pretty ugly. The RB for Central is going to angry tomorrow... he had two big runs which ended up doing nothing. The defense seems to be pretty on point this year and should continue to get better every game. Tucker seemed to be the better QB, showing a little more poise than the younger Tomas Hill. Issac Kinley (sophmore) looked decent with a huge hit on a kick off, he ran the Central RB down on his second huge run and a huge interception almost taking it for 6 but was taken down at around the 2 or 3. Tucker had two rushing TD's and a passing as well. SHHS seemed to run the spread option just as well as last year in this first showing. Nat and Solomon were pretty on point with the run game tonight which everyone predicted to be the bigger factor. Solomon is quick but seemed to always give the extra effort when going up the middle or just trying to get another yard and Nat Scott has shown some moves from years past and is becomming a more go-to guy. SHHS looked alright but could be better, here we come Betsy.
  23. be there tomorrow night... or be squ.... or be at the DB and Eliz game tomorrow haha i'm gonna miss the SH and Eliz game next week.... work boo. oh well. FINAL PRED: SH 35 SC 13
