In my opinion for the most part it's usually mental stuff. D-B always finds a way to get to you mentally, usually teams have athletes that can match up to them, it's just that they are Dobyns-Bennet...the Indians, the most feared team around, or what not. We played them close two years ago...losing 7-3 we had the game on our side for three quarters, but yeah an interception here and there we lose. Last year we had a better team than the team before but we got demolished, I think we were prepared but after not scoring on the first drive we lost that mental toughness and they rolled over on us, so yea it's basically mental and also Coach Clark is a good coach.

good info! i'm glad there's some region 1 fans out there still...haha. yes, this year will definatley be crazy. so many people stepping up. another note, science hill's defense was among the best until the end of the season when we fell apart for some reason. we lost our two year starter linebackers in littleford and elliot, that will hurt. also our biggest Offensive and Defensive lineman is gone in Tommy Schnell who signed to Penn State. also Barcel is gone, our 6'7" Tight end who signed to elon. it's going to be interesting. our fullback is the strongest guy on the team right now who will be a three-year starter this year. 285 bench, 445 squat. keep this thread alive! who are the rest of you scrimmaging for spring?

With all of the coaching changes, as well as team changes with the loss of the class of 2004, who is going to be on top this year? here at Science Hill we lost about sixteen seniors...and they all started. Only a few starters are returning. This could be crucial because this past senior class was the base of our team and had been for a few years. Our QB will probably be a junior (sophmore at the moment) by the name of Brandon Shoun once he is done with baseball that is. We lost the entire O-Line which might hurt, as well as both our star RBs. Everyone stepping up this year has had PT at one time or another, though. lookout for Karns this year, I personally think they might give everybody a run for their money. Science Hill will be scrimmaging Sullivan South and Greeneville here in about 5 weeks, so we've been doing a running program and have been lifting weights since the beginning of December. It's going to be fun, Spring Ball is here just about!

  7. ...how's this one going to fair? I want The devils to come out on top, I want to see them go very far, and possibly win it all ..congrats to D.B. and Jefferson Co. (who we beat.. but I think we gave them a reality check, and to get ready for teams they didnt think were good, or are really good.. y'know) I hope ya'll go far
  8. D-B's RB in the paper he didn't even expect our Def to do that good... why does everyone always sell us short? we lost 5 games by a total of 24 points, we had a GOOD football team this year, it was just a few minutes that made us come on the downside of the game.
  9. yeah, Joslin is QB for JV, he took over Justin Seaton's spot who wasn't doing so hot. Joslin was starting saftey on D before missing a few practices, and then Drew Tuner (his backup) took his spot and has been doing very very well. Joslin will start Varsity next year, and coming from the freshman team is his brother who plays QB also, which will help the Topper's in the upcomming years.
  10. lol, I play for SH, I am a sophmore although, I don't start I was there. we won 24-13, we had the game in the bag with 4 min left and scored again within the last min or 2 to really put it away. The second to the last play Tommy Schnell & Nick Bradley knocked the crap out of Jefferson's QB and he went down, backup came in with a second left and threw and incompletion. Jon-David Scott had a nice night running (sophmore, Full back), Drew Tuner yet again had ANOTHER interception (sophmore, Saftey) and the newest sophmore to start Hunter Thomas had I think 7 catches for 118 yds and a td in the first half, tonight the Patriots bit on it, Chantz was getting double covered leaving Hunter open. Roger Antone had a nice night himself, as did Kye Hamilton, Todd Sanjid had a nice night kicking as well. and i agree, we should be 7-0, i think anyway. We havent gotten killed in any game, it's just that we need to learn how to do the 2-minute drill in the 4th Q. our JV team (which i at least start on) isn't doing too bad either, besides the first two loses we had, because joslin wasnt our QB. we had him our past two games which we won. 2 weeks ago we beat volunteer 44-0, and we beat THE TRIBE, yes DB 38-18 on Monday. this week has been a good week for Topper football.
  11. ok.. ok we lost again. big deal, we played better this week than we did against Elizabethton. We should be 2-0, not 0-2. We lost by a.) penalties and b.) dieing in the 4th QTR. again.. pitiful again, I can't believe i stood on the sidelines and watched another game go down the drain.. this is terrible, we're going to get a little mean this coming week, it's starting to hurt.. I know TN. High has a good team, but if we get the running game going, nothing will stop us and we'll hopefully go 8-2.. or 7-3. SH 7 S-D 14 we've lost both our games by 7 and 6 points, thats nothing to be ashamed of, we lost them both at the end of each game....
