  1. No, I might not me a coach - I just me a fan. If ya wanna talk to some Falcon coaches call 'em at 931-433-6505!
  2. That fixed it - I can lay off the stress meds now!
  3. Well...if the "My Pick History" on the Big Ones worked for me I could give you an exact percentage of CoachT folks that picked GC over LC - it was 80-something percent if I remember right - so I'd call that a big upset, absent any information to the contrary. In fact, it was unusual for Lawrence County to be included in the Big Ones contest, since I vaguely remember that only teams with winning records would be chosen each week. Anyhoo, I don't know anything about anyone being suspended. How does the Wildcat pass defense look?
  4. The Falcons have a potent passing weapon - how does Lawrence County's pass defense look?
  5. There's no question that Mathers has talent - however, the other three Blaze backs averaged 8.5 yards per carry. Not good. The Falcons apparently need some work.
  6. It's not my job to tell the coaches how to do their job - my job is to support the players. Feel free to contact the coaches directly if you have the courage - anonymously trashing them on a message board won't help anything - it only hurts the team. If you don't have the courage to contact the coaches directly then you should quit trashing them here - if you continue then you're nothing but a gutless coward.
  7. Dude - I'm not hiding from facts or you or anyone else - I made a suggestion - go to my first post on that thread and see if you can still accuse me of hiding.
  8. Not working yet...when I look at my picks for this last Friday I see: Brighton at Bartlett 62% picked Bartlett, lost by 34 Cherokee at Daniel Boone 81% picked Daniel Boone, won by 16 Spring Hill at Mt. Pleasant 65% picked Spring Hill, lost by 3 Goodpasture at Ravenwood 49% picked Ravenwood, lost by 7 University School of Jackson at Trinity Christian 80% picked University School of Jackson, won by 7 Portland at White House 89% picked White House, won by 14 I don't see the others - which fortunately have been included in the Overall Standings. It's still unnerving when I look at my picks and only see seven - it makes me think I haven't picked all the games - hence my stress.
  9. The Falcons are coming off of a pummelling by the Blaze, and the Wildcats are coming off a big upset over the Bobcats. I don't know much about the Wildcat/Bobcat game - but I do know that the Falcons had better get some basic skills down if they want to compete this Friday night!
  10. Hey - I have an idea - let's all go over to the Lincoln County at Lawrence County thread, and pick this one back up in a few weeks!
  11. My Pick History only shows a few of the games I've picked on each date - it's unnerving me.
  12. Well, Mr. Donkey, y'all might give a rebuilding team like the Falcons some serious trouble, but y'all are gonna run into some serious trouble yourselves this season if your running game is based on one guy - he got 279 out of 321 yards rushing for you Friday night. In fact, you might just run into some trouble this Friday night!
  13. Mathers had 279 rushing yards on 14 carries and 141 return yards for Blackman against Tullahoma. The Falcons are going to need to stop that guy, or at least slow him waaaay down. Is the Falcon defense up to the job?
  14. When I mark all forums read, then they appear as read - until I log in with a different computer - at which time the threads I haven't visited since the last time I logged in with the different computer are all marked "unread".... When I log in on a computer does only that computer remember what I've read?
  15. There's definitely a difference between HC and DC, and Palmer definitely has the creds for DC. I think he'll do a good job.
  16. Which is why I gently mentioned you may have been thinking of Tim Johnson. Do you know what Palmer's record as HC was at FHS? I know how he did at Page and Hazel Green. BTW, I'm looking forward to those hot dogs on 24 September!
  17. You may be thinking about Tim Johnson.
  18. Anyone have a credible inside line on their potential this year?
  19. You're right. I suspect attendence will be down from what it would have been at MTSU...imagine folks from Memphis making the drive and then sitting in the endzone - they'll only do that once. I'm sure money was the consideration - I'll bet it changes back next year or the year after (unless some dummy signed a long term contract).
  20. I've taken a quick look at this and I may be full of crap (it wouldn't be the first time), but here are the number of teams with winning records that didn't make the playoffs over the last 4 years: 2009 - 1 2008 - 5 2007 - 7 2006 - 5
  21. I've had some trouble using Explorer but not with Firefox...what are y'all using?
  22. The new system was supposed to cut down on the number of teams with losing records in the playoffs, right? Let's look at the data for 1A through 6A.... Number of playoff teams with losing records during the last 4 years 2009 - 20 Two teams with losing records advanced 2008 - 12 One team with a losing record advanced 2007 - 18 No teams with losing records advanced 2006 - 18 Two teams with losing records advanced Doesn't look like the new system changed anything, does it? On the other hand, I agree with the other reasons supporting the new system - it was nice this year to renew some old rivalries and not spend 2 1/2 hours on the road one way to Crossville!
  23. Lincoln County wins 21-14 with some impressive defense along with some solid offense. Shelbyville scored on a kickoff return and an interception return - their offense put together one good drive down to inside the 5 right before halftime but didn't put it in - that was the only serious offensive threat. The refs weren't very impressive - there were some calls and lack of calls on both sides that I didn't quite follow. Good job Falcons! An excellent end to a challenging (in many ways) season!
  24. How does Shelbyville make the playoffs by winning? This new system is very confusing.
