  1. Still here. Helping out on Friday nights is all I do however. I am not worried about Muffin, I am sure he is a great guy I have just always been a little curious as to where he is from. I have never seen where he has took a team and supported them, only run down programs he doesn't like (which I have probably been guilty of as well). I assume now that he must be from RBS after his post saying that I should stay out of it since I live in Smith County and from his past Hatred of Macon County I would not be surprised (not that everyone in RBS hates Macon, many have been very supportive). Regit, I remember some of your post from when I used to get on CoachT, do I know you?
  2. Thanks for that post PJ. Most of us here in the Middle of the State would like to see RBS turn things around.
  3. I do live in Smith County. However I am from Macon County and i grew up between Lafayette and RBS. My first year out of college I was a teacher and a coach at RBS so the place means a great deal to me. I take it that since you believe I should stay out of it because I no longer live there then you must live in RBS. I guess since you have told Scott face to face what you think of him I will finally get to figure out who you are. And by the way, I never said that you should keep your nose out of it. I simply said I thought you would be above that. There is a reason I would have thought you were. Keep your heads up Bulldogs, play your hearts out.
  4. Muffin, I thought you would be above that. Anyone can sit behind the screen and call names. If you or going to do that I think you should have to give your name out and maybe that would cut some of this out.
  5. Teams have been known to play both above their abilities as well as way below. So anyone can win on any given night. That is why you go ahead and play the game. I do not see Monterey playing this one very close however. TC 35 Mont 7 (Scoring against 2nd string)
  6. He may be busy with something else. He said the thread would be gone if it does not stop. It will not matter, they will just do it on the next thread. Maybe CoachT can just have a page were people can get on there to vent their frustrations so the players and fans that do not want to see it can choose not to and still post their support of their teams. I do think everyone has a right to their opinion, I just wish they had another place to post the negative comments.
  7. Maybe, maybe not but allow me to ask a question. Some of the Coaches that are there (like Dyer, Hudson, and Cook) were they not part of the 2002 and the 2003 coaching staffs that went a combined 20-5 with all 5 losses coming from VERY STRONG programs? And don't they have a Coach there that has a couple of State Championship rings from his days at Trousdale county? I am just asking. I do not even know for sure if these are the guys that remain on staff there. But if they are, I would say they have an idea of what it takes to win.
  8. No mam, the football field is located on Meador Drive. If you need an address I believe the elementary school next to it is at 401 Meador Drive but I am not for sure.
  9. I am confused. You quoted me when I was talking about Dyer while he was at Smith County and you are talking about cook.
  10. That was his last season. He had some good ones in there as well.
  11. Its hard to get the talent out for football at RBS. The community there is GREAT but football is not their priority. I do not know what goes on with the current coaching staff but I have a feeling they are working hard and doing all they can. They will learn things such as finding and stick to an offensive philosophy. To have a big fancy weight room takes money that is just not there, However the year I coached there we had a little more than what was posted in an earlier post. RBS has to find a way to make it mean something to be part of the program so they can get the support they need (both financial and mental) and so they can get the best athletes in the school out on the team. The 1 year I was there we had 15 boys on the team, 8 would show up for practice and about 3 of them had any athletic ability (but those 8 kids worked as hard as any I have ever seen). I would walk the halls every day and would be very dissapointed at the very good athletes walking the hall that just had no interest in playing. Coaches, keep working hard, players believe in your coaches and yourselves (ignore negative attitudes) bust your backsides everyday and be part of turning the program around.
  12. I agree, don't get me wrong I hope to see you all win every game but one from here on out as long as you don't beat Watertown. I just don't see this being the year that RBS gets multiple wins but I still believe they can get 1.
  13. Mr. Grace, you probably do not remember me but I met you when your family first came to Macon County and I think your son was in the 7th grade. Is your child At Vanderbilt? Just wanted to let you know that if he is I would like to let you know that you and your family will be in my prayers.
  14. 13-22 means 13 wins and 22 losses. The exact same thing as 13 of 35. It is just those who post 13 of 35 do so with the hopes of making it look even worse than it already is.
  15. That is part of the reason for their success. Also, those kids down there start learning in the 6th grade what they will be doing in the 12th. No wonder they get pretty good at it. Not to mention having a Harper on the team doesn't hurt. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Most players in Macon Count have to learn 3 diffferent systems in the same amount of time. 1, sometimes 2 different jr. high coaches, and usually 2 different high school coaches. Play your Hearts out Friday night Tigers. Now you have me curious. Whoever you are, I hope all is going well.
  16. Yes, this is Scott Brewer. I have posted that many times, I have never tried to hide behind a computer screen. I did coach the D-Line which was the easiest job on the team the last 2 years I was there. The D-line had several great, hard working kids that was loaded with talent. I do not even have a lawn chair so that is a funny comment. Make your comments about people being glad that I left, that is not hurting anyone. I still miss the young men that I worked with when I was at Macon County and I miss the coaches. I was fortunate enough to work with three very good coaches there. Coach Dyer, Coach Ipp, and Coach Harville all were very good coaches there. You may be a football Ace but you need a little work on your grammar. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Good luck Tigers, eventhough everyone is glad I am gone I still want to see the Big Blue pull out some wins.
  17. Nobody has mentioned Clay County. What is that all about? I would say that MJCA is tho only chance they have left. RBS needs to find a way to get their athletes to come out for the football team.
  18. This is crazy, there was not this much bashing of Birdwell and anyone that knows anything about football knows what he did to the program. Winter workouts were really rook tournaments for the players. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  19. That's exactly what I have been saying since the late 80's. Since moving to Smith County I see what it is like to have people support a program. Sure, I have heard people questioning the Coaches down here, that is human. But man Smith County supports their young people. My hats off to you.
  20. Why would he want to do that? I don't know of any coach that would get on here and argue with people. So what are you going to do when Cook does leave? If you think any Great Coach is going to come to Macon with their history of how coaches are treated you are way to optimistic.
  21. Thats strange, I remember him coaching as an assistant while I was there under Dyer. He was not paid, but he was a coach. Is he qualified to be the head man? I don't know. But as far as the comments about him taking the blame, that is what a coach should do. He should never make excuses or blame the players.
  22. Good luck with that. I hope the best for the young man but I know another young man that Vandy was recruiting as a kicker very hard and then just out of the blue washed their hands of him. That young man at TC is a great kicker and any college should be proud to have him.
  23. It seemed to be a hard fought battle. TC played very disciplined ball with very few mistakes. SC boys played hard but made to many mistakes. The question I have is why didn't SC run more between the tackles and throw more in the middle of the field? That seemed to me to be the only things they had any success at. TC shutdown the outside running and passing game very well. Great effort by both teams and thanks for the show. Whether or not the team I pull for wins, I still love watching high school football. Good luck owls this week at York. TC, the only challenge you have left is FC and I wish you the best in that one.
  24. Man I did not know that the government contolled the gas prices. I love Coacht you learn something new everyday. Of course this coming from someone who thought he played on a 10-1 team at Macon County in 78. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I hope everyone has already filled up for the trip tonight, thanks to IKE the gas here in Watertown just jumped to $4.39. Good luck tonight Tigers and I hope everyone has a safe trip there and home. Maybe the weather will hold out until you all return safely.
  25. You are right about that, they still run exactly what they did 18 years ago, but they are good at it.
