  1. The TSWA selections above appear to be a better representation of a true ALL STATE team than the TACA Coaches list which appears to be based more on each coach submitting the names of their top players and most all teams having some representation.
  2. I can understand the limit of 22 for dressing out at state (even though most football teams bring everyone) especially at St. Agnes with its academics and the school time that would be missed. What I can't understand is why they would want to limit rings to just 22 players when all contributed in some way to this remarkable season. This will harm the program moving forward unless the decision is reversed for your daughter and others.
  3. Unless your public team is packing heat at the games they play, I'm ok with playing public teams in sports but not sending my kids to your gangsta infested schools (just exaggerating a little here). If you can't see the difference, shame on you. Private school proponents don't have anything against publics when it comes to sports where you line them up and play and the best team wins. Is your only argument against privates based on choosing not to go to public schools or is it that you don't like losing to privates (be honest)?
  4. I've got to stick with SAA. Anyone that knows the talent on their team understands regardless of division in this state tournament, they have the most. With that said, BGA is a well organized and disciplined team. SAA tends to score in the first and last 10 of each half and teams that can execute a plan to stop this have a shot at beating them.
  5. In D2, going into the final game, St. Agnes has scored 120 goals this season and given up only two which ties a state record. They played BGA in the pre-season, winning 1-0. In A/AA, neither team has lost to another A/AA school this season. USJ's only loss was to a D2 team. In AAA, Bearden's 3 losses all game to the same team, Farragut.
  6. Thanks. If you hear anything on either game please pass it on!
  7. Not me. I'll take BGA although with Baylor dominating their quarterfinal match it could be Baylor/SAA after all. If BA beats SAA that will be the upset of the tournament regardless of division.
  8. Also "own" goals/shots can make the stats appear distorted.

    USJ

You'll find USJ to be a very organized and disciplined team with a couple of pretty technical players in the MF. IMO you'll find they may lack overall team speed and athleticism compared to the remaining teams in A/AA but they will give their best effort so KC will need to come ready to play.
  10. Was way off on this one. Baylor 4, ECS 0
  11. Brentwood Academy beats GPS in OT on GPS home field
  12. Thanks for the update. Looks like it's going to be a very competitive state tournament with all 3 11:30 games going into OT.
  13. A/AA: at the half, FRA 1, ND 1
  14. Curious as to why that's a bad example because "farragut and houston were not on a level playing field"...
  15. For the same reason most picked Farragut over Houston in 2004. Farragut beat Houston 2 - 0 earlier in the season and then lost in the final. It's about talent, coaching and how you are playing at this point and time imo.
  16. State brackets are final. AAA looks to be the best balanced with the top 4 imo in different 1st round games. Here's what it looks like along with a prediction. Quarterfinals: Franklin vs Siegel Siegel Collierville vs Farragut Collierville Riverdale vs Hendersonville Hendersonville Houston vs Bearden Bearden Semifinals: Siegel vs Collierville Siegel Hendersonville vs Bearden Hendersonville Finals: Siegel vs Hendersonville Hendersonville
  17. Now that it's down to "one and done" what are your predictions? Here's what I've got. One half of the bracket is loaded with the only 3 teams that imo can win it. Quarterfinals: Franklin Road vs Notre Dame Franklin Road JCS vs CAK CAK USJ vs Spring Hill USJ Sweetwater vs Knoxville Catholic Knoxville Catholic Semifinals: Franklin Road vs CAK Franklin Road USJ vs Knoxville Catholic Knoxville Catholic Finals: Franklin Road vs Knoxville Catholic Franklin Road
  18. The TSSAA indicates Franklin's 1989 team currently holds the record for least goals allowed in a season with 2. If St. Agnes can go unscored on at State, they will tie them.
  19. Agreed. The ones we differ on are likely to be very close. I'd go with OT in the BA/GPS game with GPS taking advantage of home field. Baylor/ECS is really a toss up and likely to be a 1-0 game either way.
