  1. From what i have seen (mostly heard) the Foster kid from Independance is having a standout year.
  2. Congrats to Indy on the W. Sounds like it was a heck of a defensive battle.
  3. So basically, when the team was down the crowd level was down? Kind of like at Ravenwood... When they were good Ravenwood had a great following, not so much anymore... Anyway, with what is on the line for tonights game both student sections should be into this game. Wish i could be there, should be a good one
  4. Crawford?? Pretty sure it's spelled Clayton...
  5. I am as big of a Franklin fan as anyone but your posts are getting ridiculous. If you are a player (which i assume you are) you have no business talking crap on these boards. If you are a student at Franklin who doesnt play you still have no business talking crap on these boards. Franklin has played well at times this year and been terrible at others, hence the 70 points scored on em the first two games of the year... Yeah the defense has come together and been better since then but you cant erase the first two games like they never happened. From what i have seen this year this should be a great game. Good luck to Franklin and heres hoping for good health for both teams!
  6. Every 6A team that is left should be extremely happy to see Blackman and Smyrna playing this week. These two teams are much too talented to be meeting in the quarterfinals. Its a shame one will not be playing next week. Good luck to both teams and hope for a good clean game.
  7. How did what work out for me? I asked a question if Franklin could stop Mathers. They didnt. They lost... Cute comments about the wife donkey. Has yours left you and you are so beat up over it that you continue to bash on others?? I was actually at home last night enjoying my anniversary weekend with my wife and 6th month old child. I had the choice to travel to the Boro tonight but decided against it. Franklin has its obnoxious posters.... You would be Blackmans. Some people choose to win with class. Yours flew out the door a long time ago I see.
  8. Congrats to Blackman. I guess Franklin didnt see my post about leaving everything on the field. Good luck to blackman in next weeks game. I heard Mathers only played a little over a quarter... Was this because of the score or was there an injury to him? Hope he is healthy for next week.
  9. It is a compliment to be recruited by any D1 program. Louisville may not be strong recently but they have had their moments. Mathers will be recruited by many top schools in the country. Just because the two young men committed to Louisville does not mean they werent recruited by others. Hope both teams play their best tonight and leave everything they have on the field. Going to be a good one. Good luck to both teams Seniors especially. For some it could be their last game of organized football they ever play.
  10. Maryville and Riverdale are both top notch programs in TN but that has nothing to do with them not looking past other opponents. You can say all week long you are not looking past anyone but when their is evidence that states otherwise, this thread, it can be argued that you are in fact looking past this weeks and in this case next weeks game. There are quite a few posts from other teams fans, but to say that Maryville and Riverdale fans arent posting on here quite a bit is incorrect. Anyway, I hope that this game does come to be because it will be one of the best games of the playoffs, but both teams have two good opponents to get by first.
  11. While at Franklin we played LC every year. Coach Thompson was by far one of the classiest coaches I ever played against. That was always a game I looked forward to playing in. Congrats Coach on a great career.
  12. It is a little funny that this thread has more posts in it than the Maryville/Farragut thread... Thought no one was looking past tonights game?
  13. Escuse me Miss, but I believe Franklin showed last week that they belong in this game. It is comical that everyone from Blackman continues to bring up Mayberry not playing last week. The kid was cleard to play on Wednesday and chose not to practice or play because he wanted to be ready for Blackman this week. Something he is going to have to live with. Tonight will be a better game than most people think. Good luck Rebels. Good health to the Blaze.
  14. If Franklin allows Mathers to run circles around them this game it wont be clsoe. I think their D will step up to the occassion, but it will be tough. Lucky for Franklin, Kuivinen can strike quickly through the air but he will have to be smarter with his passes than he has been the past couple weeks. Looking forward to a great game tomorrow night.
  15. You forgot to mention the brass knuckles and shards of glass in wrist bands that those Franklin Cowboys are using!!! Sure is a good thing this game is at Blackman!!
  16. I've heard Tim Johnson may be interested in the LC position. He played at Lincoln County before playing at Vanderbilt. I believe he took a position this year down in Arkansas. I think LC would be a good fit for him.
  17. From what you hear.... Did you know Coker personally or are you going by what you read in the paper? I knew Coker and yes he made some bad choices but most of what was written in the paper was embellished. Anyway, i have not posted on here to take anything away from Mathers and dont feel like i said anything bad about him or Blackman. Friday will be a great game and I look forward to heading to the Boro. Havent been out there for a HS football game in a couple years.
  18. You are correct pattonboysdad, i did say that it looks like blackman puts all their eggs in one basket. I also said that antioch did it as well and it didnt work out well for them. Only stating that if Blackman comes after Franklin with a one dimensional offense it may or may not work. Also, if Franklin attacks Blackman solely through the air it may or may not work. If every other sentence from Blackman fans wasnt about Mathers we may know something else about the rest of the team. We can speculate all we want all week long about what will and wont work but until the game is played we will not know.
  19. Again, if you would properly read my post, I said that in 04 Antioch put all their eggs in Coker's basket and it didnt work out to well for them... I did not say that putting all your eggs in Mathers basket would not work. I am in no way affiliated with this team besides the fact that I graduated from Franklin. I hope they win but if they dont it is not the end of the world for me. Everyone underestimated Franklin last week and they walked away with the W. Im sure Franklin has a lot of respect for Blackman as well. At this point of the season if one team doesnt respect the other it could be costly.
  20. Wishful thinking? No sir, i simply stated that if Franklin comes to play and plays a solid game that they are very capable of winning this game. I have not, nor will i, say that Franklin will lose this game. i also will not state that Franklin WILL win this game. Franklin may not have played a difficult schedule this year but they have already showed that they are willing and can play with just about anyone.
  21. If you properly read my post I had already stated that it was a different year and different teams... thanks for pointing that out again for me though. In Cokers junior year in HS he has offers from 10 of the 12 SEC teams and several other big schools across the country. He was the real deal in his HS days and would have been a top back in the SEC had he not let his judgement get in his way. I am not taking anything away from Mathers, nor saying that he will not run rampent agains Franklin, but I dont think he will run as wild and free as he has against other programs. If I'm wrong then it will be a long night for Franklin, if not then it could be a long night for Blackman. Only time will tell.
  22. So from what I have gathered so far, Blackman puts all of their eggs in Mathers basket... In 04 Franklin played an Antioch team that put all their eggs in Lemarcus Cokers basket... That didnt work out to well for Antioch. I know it is a different year and two totally different teams but there is no way anyone can tell me that Mathers is a better back that Coker was. If Franklin plays a solid game it will take more than just Mathers to beat Franklin.
  23. I dont recall ever once stating that Franklin WOULD beat Oakland. I only said that IF Franklin came out and played a solid game that Franklin COULD beat Oakland. There is nothing for me to be humble about. I dont play their anymore, nor do I go there. As for your post, when you come out stating that a team is bigger, faster, more athletic, etc. it comes across as a start to an excuse. After re-reading your post it can still looks like you are an Oakland fan. My apologies if I misinterpreted your post.
  24. You ccan put all the excuses on here you want but that is why the games are played. Franklin beat Oakland hands down. Ive seen all morning excuses from a select few of Oakland fans and it is ridiculous. Saying that because a RB was on the sideline is the reason the game was lost is nonsense. Franklin started and played most of the season without several of their top RB's and found ways to win. Bottom line is Franklin played a better game that Oakland last night and will be gearing up to play next week. Congratulate your team for a great season and get on with it.
