  1. For Tribe fans that are unfamiliar with Clinton, I would recommend Hoskins Drug located in downtown Clinton. They have an old-style soda fountain with great milkshakes and cheeseburgers. http://www.hoskinsdrugstore.com/
  2. Living in the Knoxville area, I can tell you that alot of Farragut fans don't think that much of their staff - especially their offensive coordinator. Too devoted to the pass. Had M'ville beat last year, but just had to keep throwing the ball. Ended up out coaching themselves. The have been blessed with some nice talent as of late, but I don't know many around here that are bragging about their coaching staff.
  3. The video is not available for streaming. As far as I know, the radio play-by-play is not available either. I an shocked by that a radio broadcast is not available. . I put in a call to DB's so-called athletic director regarding the lack of Internet broadcast. He, of course, didn't return my call. Too busy reading a book on how to make friends and influence people, I guess.
  4. Which teams in the Big 8 have their radio broadcasts available live on the Internet?
  5. Anyone know if DB games will be availible on the net this season?
  6. I went to the scrimmage, and I can file the following report. I didn't get there until they had been going for about 30 minutes. It was my understanding that Central scored on a long run on their second play. DB scored on there first drive with No. 32 going in. I arrived to see Steel catch a 70 +/- yd. pass from seabolt. Probably a 20-25 yd pass and Steel had his man beat. DB missed the XP. Seabolt had a TD pass to Clark (at least I think it was Clark) from about the 10. Backup QB for DB had a long run - maybe 70 yd for a TD later. Central couldn't really get much going. DB made a few mistakes. Especially fumbles. Killed a few drives that way. Score was bout 4 - 1, I think. Could have been worse. Both teams worked on punts, FGs and kickoffs for a while. DB blocked two punts and Steel blocked a FG. DB had a punt blocked. DB converted on a few FGs. After that the back-ups came in. DB's back-ups moved the ball fairly well. DB has nice talent in the backfield, and they are running the wing-t formation with Sensabaugh as the FB. Cannon and Swafford were at the wings. Seabolt is quick, and he is a bit bigger than I thought. DB has some size, but not a lot. Will be interesting to see how we will fare against a big, strong Farragut squad. Remember the road to the golden ball still goes through M'ville. Do we have enough coaching and size to beat M'ville? The only was to beat M'vill is to beat them at the point of attack. They can't be outcoached. They won't outcoach themselves. In the games they have lost, they were physically whipped on the O and D lines. That is basically where it is.
  7. anybody know the practice times for DB's practices tomorrow (Monday)?
  8. Anyone attend the scrimmage? Detailed scrimmage report?
  9. Was Karns' head coach really fired today?
  10. "Some" of the 10th graders? "Some"? You had better believe that ALL of the Maryville 10th graders are "really" hitting the weights! "Some" will not cut it. It will take "All".
  11. Indians win! 75 - 70. State tournament bound! How about Charlie Morgan?
  12. Bearden is very, very good. Only lost to Fulton and West this year. Very athletic. Ultra-quick. Deep. No great insider player, but plenty of guards/wing players. The have any number of guys that can bring the ball up the court. They continually run players in and out. Fair, Winton, White and Greene are a few guys that can play. They have plenty of others that can go, too. To beat Bearden, you will have to out coach them. Or, let them out coach themselves. I believe that it will not go well for Daniel Boone. How did Bearden beat West? Bearden got a fairly big lead in the 1st quarter, and basically held on to win. West got it close a couple of times, but Bearden made a few shots down the stretch.
  13. Congrats to the Indians on the Regional Championship. Congrats to the players and the coaching staff. Great work by all. It is nice to acheive more than what is expected! That being said, DB will have their hands full with Knox West. They are deep and athletic. They gave bearden all they wanted, and they actually beat the bulldogs earlier in the year. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  14. Congrats to Boone on beating Science Hill. Boone will be playing The Tribe for the championship as the Indians defeat Sevier Co. Anyone know where/when DB and Boone will play? ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  15. Add Farragut to the list. The only two games I saw last year were the Farragut and Maryville games. Both were ugly.
  16. Oak Ridge hung about 70 on Clinton just a few years ago. Clinton is now prospering from OR's program being down. OR hired a new coach last year, and things will begin to turn around for the Wildcats. That is bad news for Clinton. As in years past, those kids will play for OR.
  17. If I'm hearing Right, he is a Kicker, other than that he's kinda been invisible Man....Awsome! an invisible Kicker! Nobody has that, I mean NOBODY! DB's kicking game was nearly invisible last year!
  18. Batman, it's not my thread but I have to respond. White Station was a joke. They were a one trick pony. Maryville will come back next year, and the next, and... They (White Station) had a great RB. He was really good. They had a great D. Maryville no D...what-so-ever. That is what beat them. A lack of D. The White Station QB was not an athlete. He was a circus clown. And he made all the kiddies laugh at the Maryville D. Quarles was ashamed. White Station's coach was like, "What ever gets you through the night". I agree that it was done in the 2nd. Was GQ out coached? Well, maybe you could call it "out tricked". I mean seriously, would you call that football. Again, the White Station RB was premier. GQ should have taken a que from Darryl Watson at DB and sent an all out blitz on that Fran Tarkenton guy. Teach him a lesson. GQ choked. Who's the better program? I think we all know. Again, White Station had some athletes on both sides of the ball. But it wasn't the QB. Regarding Greeneville...They have been a football powerhouse for quite some time. Decades actually. They have just had a slide up until 2007. I don't have to tell you anything. But the trouble South had with them the past few years was made to look like a degradation to South. Instead of an empowerment to Greenville. I'm sad that Greeneville dropped down in classification but I guess that is the way it should have been years ago. They will bounce right back. Good programs do that. We wanted to upgrade NET...I think we are on the right track. The Nutty Professor Exactly. Offering coaching advice to GQ. Wow. From a South fan, no less. Maybe compusaman will next critique Einstein's theory of relativity.
  19. The fieldhouse and the turf would suggest that the school board is behind the program.
  20. Batman - Very good question! Following the embarassing loss at M'ville, I have been thinking of what it would take to get there, as well. Here are a few thoughts off the top of my head, but really one word sums it up...commitment. Commitment from the current players to not be outworked in the off season. Stronger, faster, smarter... Commitment from the school system administration to hire the best athletic director for DB. Commitment from the system admin to create and maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to competing at the highest level. Read: Ensure that coaches at middle school level are qualified and are on same page as high school coaching staff. Commitment for the AD to hire the best possible coach. Commitment from the AD to create and maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to competing at the highest level. Commitment from the coach to hire the best possible coaching staff. Commitment from the coaches to create and maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to competing at the highest level. Coaches need to be involved and aware of what is happening in both youth and middle school football. Community involvement cannot be underestimated.
