I agree with you IE3, if Russell gets time, he will get Byrd the ball. What a combination that will be. I am close to the situation, and have been told that Byrd and Russell will both be redshirted.

I have heard from various sources, that there is a good chance Mark Byrd(Cloudland), and Corey Russell (Cumberland Gap) both may be wearing Tusculum uniforms next year. I have heard that they are after both of these fine prospects very hard. What do you think of a Russell to Byrd connection over the next 4 years? They could tear some people up. Also, I think they both know each other, so that could help a lot. Maybe one could get the other to come to Tusculum, or vice versa!!

i am a player at cumberland gap and i would just like to say eventhough this year isnt going as well as we would all hoped it would we have made alot of progress this year. so what ...we dont have the high caliber athletes that alot of bigger schools have and really not the size alot of other schools have we do the best we can with what we have. and we give it all that we have got in everything we do. so if you come to see a game at cghs you may not see a maryville or riverdale or oakland or whoever else you wanna say , but you will see more heart at that game than you will anywhere else. oh yea just one more thing... the best years are yet to come ...keep up with the panthers!!! love ya guys!

Corey Russell from Cumberland Gap H.S. has over 1,200 yards passing, he is being recruited by several schools, and also had over 2,500 yards last year. He is the real deal!!

Hampton 24-----Cumberland Gap 6, Cumberland Gap might have the best place kicker in East Tennessee but with Inman punting they don't have a kicking game worth a flip. Coach Cline would be better off going on every 4th down situation because they gain a yard or two. Hampton has the best tight end in East Tennessee, while the Gap doesn't have a good tight-end on their team. Hunter can catch & block better than Inman and has a winning atitude. BENCH--Inman and the Pathers could win.
