  1. By the way leonard I am on leave. I am in the state to see my kids. But where I am doesn't make a difference. I seen Anthony's hilight tape. Ask Brent Hobbs if he thinks he is one of the top players in the state. He has a copy of it also. By the way Miami (coach Saw), Penn State (coach Norwood), Wake Forest, Oklahoma State (coach Brewer), North Carolina State (coach Dixon) has it also. I played for coach Anderson so AA progress is important to me. If he was to do 1 on 1 drills with anyone in this state AA could handle his own. No disrespect to Smith because all I heard is good things; "he makes plays". But could he guard 1 on 1 any of the top WR in the state. And how much man to man does his team play. Some players look great with the scheme. If he was placed in a scheme where he would have to play man to man against a AA or some of the better WR in the nation how would he do? I am asking because I never seen him play. But my understanding he is a DB. And I am stereotyping what I think a kid from catholic would be like. I don't know the player and the players I talked to repect his game. What I do know is atheltically AA could compete offensively and defensively.
  2. I didn't get a chance to see any of them play this year. I did see Andersons hilight tape. He is as good as any player in the state. From my understanding with Jaron Troutman at QB next year look for Anderson to have a tremendous year. Smith kid I hear is a good ball player. Probably will be a big time safety at the next level. I figured Hamilton at Fulton will be a top recruit. I heard his grades were good also. What we have to remember is NCAA clearinghouse to determine who will play big time football. Good luck to you all.
  3. I wasn't here this year. Just in for a visit. I tried to follow the Roadrunners as much as possible in Washington state. Very proud for Graham's first year. I wasn't here but I heard they finish second in the region with a lot of inexperience. Also that the fourth place team won the state and had a micheal vick at QB. I heard they beat a state ranked 4A team Red Bank, Fulton, Anderson County, and the State Champions I just gather they are LA (academy-where they another private school.) I read a post and it said that AE was down this year. After they lost Athony McAllister, Albert Harris, QB Trevail Minnifield, WR #4 Kelvon Yancey, Tyrone Jackson, and Steven Soles I don't think they were down, it seems as though they did better than expected. By the way how are those guys doing. Up here I read of Alcoa's receiver Lanxter on coach Willingham's want list. Last but not least congrats to Anthony Anderson, I think he will do well. Glad to here of the success of Alcoa, Maryville and Oak Ridge. Way to go Stein.

  5. Coaches actinglike kids. I went to AE scrimmage with Maryville both years and both staff were professional. Also to mention Central coaches are the ones that act like kids. They don't have control of their team. I bet every scrimmage they had they have some sort of brawl. I may be wrong but I bet they got in a scuffle or two with Alcoa. They actually antagonize their kids to do dirty things. That is why I doubt coach Graham will ever scrimmage them. Knowing his personalality I doubt very seriously he will allow that. He would probably pull his team off the field and go home. You ask any other team AE scrimmage and they would tell you their coaches act professionally. Talk to the fans at Maryville, Alcoa, Carter and they will say their coaches coached. Also AE has received letters from the official's association commending their sportmanship and hard play. I remember how the fans of AC wrote on here how they enjoy playing Ae because it is a good hard fought game.
  6. Great post mssmoker. You are right. You got bragging rights now and deservely so. I thought that team would fold. Now the team was very good but I thought didn't have the toughness. They proved me wrong. Good luck again.
  7. I know Graham has not hired as many as they had last year. They lost 4 coaches including Stevens I think. I do know that Graham has put some pretty stiff demands on his coaches. And if they couldn't comply he respectfully asked them to part of friends. He told Bay bay that he will not have more than 7 on the sideline. He said in the years past they had to many people geting in free on their sideline. I have heard during meetings he openly criticize coaches for not coaching during the game but watching the game. They all seem to agreed that sideline management must be improved.
  8. I don't think the games final scores were very close. I think they played AE well but the games were never in question by the middle of the fourth quarter.
  9. good idea I will try to change the password. days and counting.
  10. Is Montgomery the Tall kid. He is playing some at QB and WR. Graham said that Tony Dean will get it done. Troutman was competing with Tony and both have a way to go to get them were he wants them. If Troutman is not eligible Graham did say it is like an injury you have to be prepared for the worst at all times. He keeps insisting he is a good kid and that he made an adult decision and he respects that. That is the most he will say about it. Well I have 3 more days in Tennessee. Then we are going to Florida from their Washington State. I am going to get my thermals down here at Hammer's in Clinton. They are real cheap there. Good luck to you all.
  11. The talk on the street is Jaron's family is going for another appeal. Like I said Graham either doesn't know much or he is keeping it mums. He did say it was a family issue and he will let them handle it. And also Jaron is a good kid and he doesn't think HE did anything wrong. But he also admits that it is not his decision or his opinion doesn't count. He trust that the right decision will be made. Trey Smith will get a look and I heard a coach talk about Anthony Anderson. Anthony actually has the strongest arm on the team. He also is great with the ball in his hands according to Tillman. But do you sacrifice him on defense and at the WR position. But then again Graham is very excited about Arsenio Moulden at WR position also Brandon Strickland and if Graham can get him in order Maurice Davis was having a good off-season until he had another incident. KNowing Graham his patience is a lot thinner than Stevens. But Graham is good with troubled kids. Graham won't depend on Maurice until he proves he will be there. That subject is another that Graham doesn't talk about. He said football should be the last thing on Maurice mind right now.
  12. AE looked good in some spots. Coach G said the spacing was better. Too many drops was all he said on the phone. But the reads from the QB were better. Jaron Troutman and Tony Dean had most of the reps. I think during the scrimmage jaron found out he was ruled ineligible. He didn't look to upset. Matter of fact he came in and socred on the following series. All the QB's played. Soph. Cameron Vandeergriff took the Roadrunners in for a score also. Graham is kind of hush hush about he Troutman situation. He said the people who make the rules will make the right decision. And keeps saying Jarons a great kid and will be successful in life no matter what. That is as far as he goes with it. I haven't pushed it because I know gooch's temper. Tony Dean is not as polished as Jaren but is very athletic and has a strong arm. Matter of fact he is bigger and faster than Jaren.
  13. Oh I get it East Tennessee players. Gotcha.
  14. Kwalker I was at the passing game. Don't believe this hype. I was on the sideline too. I heard coach G tell his coaches time doesn't matter. One time he told AC coach to mark the ball were the the AC player caught it because he wants his defense not to depend on time. There were no referees or time keepers. Then he got a laugh by saying last year we didn't get a rush any way. That had to be a player writing this because you wouldn't know this was an issue in the stands. Matter of fact AC guy. What about the MLB holding the WR. I seen that too. Ae or OR honestly wouldn't get anything out of passing league with AC or Clinton. Now I am keeping it real. I was there and they were just too much for those two teams. You guys know that you can get on here and say what you want. If I wasn't there I have to believe you but this time I was there. Please will someone from Oak Ridge or Clinton post and give your opinion. Then you will see.
  15. Correction on AE Fulton battles. In 2001 AE 30 Fulton 6; AE State Champions. 2002 Fulton 13 AE 12 Fulton Runner ups, 2003 AE 24 Fulton 7 then Fulton 13-7 in OT Fulton state champs, 2004AE 20-6 then Fulton 28 AE 21 Fulton State Champs.
  16. 825693105[/snapback] AE lost a total of 3 people off their defense. Now I will admit the 3 they lost were darn good. MCAllister will be tough to replace. Soles and Jackson willnot be as tough because the Dline rotates so many players. Also Jackson was hurt most of the year. Biggest concern for AE will be replacing QB and coach Graham adjustment to being the head coach. One of the best assistants around and a big reason for Stevens success both on and off the field. Will Stevens be able to get along without graham and can graham run the ship by himself? Hamilton and Cobb are tough but so are Fultons defensive ends.
  17. Kwalker, pigeon, roadrunner... gonna miss you guys. I will be transferred with my job to Washington state next month. My family and I are preparing for the move. Good luck to AE and Fulton and all the east tennessee team. I enjoyed being here for the last 5 years. I am gonna try to close the boorelly name because I know a lot of people know the sign in password. I am gone now. I will try to keep in touch with my AE family and Oak Ridge family. I hope both of those teams do well. Kwalker tell Cobb to stay humble and hope to read about him on Saturdays. Roadrunner keep believing in AE and don't let people stereotype their program. All east Tennessee teams represent. So Long and good luck. I hope I never offended anyone and I hope I made some people think. Thanks for the conversation. So long.
  18. All are pretty good picks. Did any pick the RB that played against Alcoa in the championship game last year. He was very impressive.
  19. I went to 3 Oak Ridge games last year and 1 MHS game. Both teams looked very impressive. I thought Oak Ridge line was dominating. MHS finesse game and patience on offense was very efficient. Too close to call. Classificaitons doesn't mean much when you have about the same # of players on your rosters. Classifications are determined by school size not program stabiility.
  20. I owe "catch me"an apology. It was "utball fan"who had said AE looked terrible at the passing practice. Remember no referees no time limit passing. I did notice when AE Coach G felt like his QB took too much time he made the play dead and lost the down. I heard him tell his coaches not to keep time of the other teams because he wanted his kids need to learn to keep playing. One thing I did hear Graham mention to his QB's is how teams will play cover 2 man to man. When you have 2 safeties and play man to man underneath. In game situation he said teams won't play that coverage because you would only have 4 people to stop the run. He said it is a great passing league defense but told his QB's they wouldn't see it much in games. I thought AE looked pretty good. They looked as though they worked on the passing game before but they have not until the day before.
  21. Futball fan. You may be the only that was there that thinks that. The kids from Oak Ridge told there head coach that they wanted to go with AE more because they that were the competition is. I was on the sideline when the OR players told Stevens this. Matter of fact AE and OR are going to get together jsut those two teams after the break. By the way futbal fan when was the last time you watched AE in passing league game during the second week of June to tell how good they were in the past at that point. Only time will tell. Keep posting. thumb
  22. What makes Fulton good is there defense. That will still be pretty much in tact. If any questions it will be the secondary if any. They usually can find players to fill the secondary because they have so many athletes.
  23. No doubt. That was exactly how I seen the game.
  24. Thank you ol hickory. One of your other fans said AE looked terrible at the passing thing in Oak Ridge the other day. The post is on 2-3A thread. I think he goes by "catch me if u can". I thought AE looked pretty good also. Especially since they have not worked on the passing game or had a spring practice. Coach G is a great teacher. He knows the game very well. I too think they have a long way to go. That is probably the reason why they opted not to come to AC. I think coach said they needed to get their house in order first. What I think he meant was that they have to prepare for the season not just passing leagues. They are behind due to all the changes that went on this spring. Also Graham told me that they have to be careful about traveling expenses. That going all the way to Oak Ridge and Anderson County adds up. They just can't afford traveling twice a week. He will not let his players drive to any of those type activities on their own. He said they will participate again with those teams probably after the break.
  25. Coach Shattuck at Clinton was impressed with AE, Coach Stevens of Oak Ridge was impressed with AE, everyone on the hill was impressed with AE. I think they did great to have not worked on a passing game and also not to have had a spring practice. So whoever that was with the comments I hope you continue to doubt them when the season is here.
