  1. The Henry County football position has been posted on TSSAA web-site. Dickson County has an enrollment of around 1500-1600 students. They have freshmen on their campus, but they have the opporunity to play their own schedule. BUT, they run the exact same system that Coach Pearson has at the varsity level. Dickson County is still one of the largest schools in the state in terms of enrollment.
  2. Nike, That is unbelievable!! If this is true, then Kriesky is in administration for the wrong reasons. If this gets out, then not many good, qualified coaches will even touch this with a 10 foot pole. There is nothing like an administration with hidden agendas. I would like to see Henry County's school mission statement, and see if Kriesky is even close to it with his leadership toward athletics. He sounds like all parents who think their child is an All-American who barely put his uniform on correctly. It is just unfortunate that he is in administration. I personally know Coach Webb from High School days and playing with him in college. He is as fine a man around who believes in TOTAL discipline.
  3. I had the opportunity to see a film on Moore County's recent game. I know Moore County has a rich tradition, BUT, they did not have the same type players they have had in the past. I have seen Moore County teams in the past that were loaded, and their records proved that. They do not have the same type kids now. I think Coach Price has done a great job with this bunch. Didn't They go 6-4 this year? Not bad. I realize that this is probably not good enough in Moore County, but with the talent they had, they could have easily gone 4-6 or 3-7. Also, they have to play in a region where they have to win every Friday night just to make the playoffs. Obviously, Coach Price has done a great job. I do not know him personally, but it is obvious they won some games that they probably should not have. God Job coach!!

    Ensworth

Holmes, Not sure, but that would be an awfully good situation. They are in the process of building right now. Whatever happens, Bowers will find a way to get it done, wether he is coaching or not. Many applicants for the football job.
  5. That is a great poem!!! We see this everyday in schools and athletics everyday. The people at the top need to make sure they are doing what is right for the kids. W/O the support from the top, nothing ever gets sccomplished, especially athletics.
  6. Congrats to Cedric Wilkerson on being a finalist for Mr. Football. Hopefully he can accomplish what Travis Stephens did for Northeast and bring respect for Clarksville football.
  7. Sounds to me that you guys do not do anything that 99% of all coaching staffs do in TN high school football. Workouts, camps, grades (study hall), film, stats, FCA, visit college staffs, clinics, giving kids ride home all year, buy a hamburger every now and then, etc. Just another day in the life of a committed coach. The true test of a committed coach is if you can continue this path after about 10 years of coaching after the parents have worn down on you and you suffer a couple of "Bad" years. So, I guess everyone does know you and your staff. It sounds like you are no different than the rest of TN coaches. Whatever you are doing on the field with this group of NW kids, stay focused, be humble, and play defense and kicking game.

  9. ALso, congratulations to Northeast and Rossview on great years. I think it would be great if Montgomery County can become a dominant county for athletics as a whole. I hope the community, parents, and administration will get it done.
  10. I agree with apsugov, Do not change anything on the field. I look forward to the game Friday night. The kids at NW are finally playing with a sense of urgency, and it is great to watch, especially since their was almost no athletics in Montgomery County this year. I just hope they win with class. They have agreat chance of winning Friday night. I believe it is better to be seen and not heard. Good Luck NW.
  11. Wiseguy, I did not know what to think while I was listening and reading. I guess you can call it tooting your own horn. I just know that I could not believe what I heard and read. There is no telling what was printed in the "leaf". Everyone knows that the coaches over at Northwest have finally gotten something out of the talent at NW this year. That is great! I don't know, I always grew up learning to be humble in defeat and gracious in winning. Also, in a win, give the credit to your players and assistants. When you lose, take the blame. Not bashing, I'm proud of what NW has accomplished. I can remember back in the day (long time ago), the teams I played on had no business being on the same football field, gym floor, or diamond as NW, but we never lost to them. They may have actually gotten over the "Clarksville Syndrome" in Northwest. The Ole' Heads know what I am talking about. I just do not want Northwest's kids to suffer because of what a coach may say to the media and while in the spotlight. Again, good luck Northwest.

    Munford

What is going on at Munford? It seems like they are looking for a new head coach every year. Is it facilities, administration, $$$$, parents who want to hire and fire, etc. Someone please explain. Good luck to all week two of TSSAA playoffs participants.
  13. Northwest v Stratford This game might be a track meet. Whoever has the ball last may win. I think both teams will have trouble tackling each other. The kicking game might be huge this game. Being an old district 10-AAA member of years gone by, I hope that Northwest will pull it out. I think their kids deserve a little success after years and years of constant losing. Obviously their coaches have a done a great job with this particular group of kids. But, their are concerns, and I am sure that the coaches and players of Stratford have great motivation after hearing Northwest's coach on the call in show Friday night and what he said in the Tennessean Saturday morning. You have to win graciously and give the credit to the kids. Too many I's in his conversations. It was a big topic of conversations among Middle Tennessee coaches this weekend. I hope it does not come back and bite Northwest. Keep working hard and do not give Stratford or any other team bulletin board material. Again, good luck to both teams. I hope both teams are in good shape, because their might not be any tackling going on in this game, just long sprints to the endzone. Go Vikes! lol
  14. Travis Stephens, Northeast. Incredible player, even better person!

Odie, I have one key word for you: DUMP! Hope to see you soon. Good luck to the Pats!!

    Biggest Gym

Dickson County and Creek Wood both in Dickson County have huge gyms. Great places to watch high school basketball.

    Jefferson County

Odie, What about your beloved Jeff County Patriots? They are having a great year.
  18. Eaglefan, I stand corrected. Thanx for responding.
  19. Lockdown, Salty, My bet is that Eaglefan will not come back on here an try to explain himself. Maybe coachchris can come on here and explain it for him. Again Eaglefan, we are not trying bash you, we just want an explanation to OUR question.
  20. Eaglefan, What do you mean by keeping NE out of the endzone? Are they playing in a bowl game this year? Is the city of Clarksville having a bowl game this year? That still does not answer my question about Travis Stephens being one of your's. No bashing here, just wanting the answer to my question.
  21. Eaglefan, Don't get me wrong here. I want ALL Montgomery County teams to succeed, especially NW because they have been awful for so long. The kids at NW deserve it. I simply want to know why you said that Travis Stephens was one of your's. Please explain. Good Luck NW Friday against Hillwood. Speed vs. Speed makes for an interesting match-up.
  22. Wiseguy, What info are you talking about? If you are talking about the Northeast teams of the mid-late 90's (Travis Stephens) era: Let's just say I was at one time "very much in the know".
  23. If NW had Travis Stephens, then they could win. In one of your posts eaglefan, you stated that Travis was "one of mine". I remember the coaching staff at Northeast when Stephens played and I do not remember you being a part of that great staff. In fact, there was only 4 varsity coaches on that great team. What did you mean by he was one of your's? Northwest could win this game. It should be a good game.
  24. I think you are right Lockdowncorner, I remember all the coaches on NE's staff when you and Travis played and I cannot remember eaglefan being on the staff. Again, I have never been acused of being very smart, but I think I know who Butler's staff was at NE. Good Luck next year, Lockdowncorner.
  25. Who do you suppose would be in line for that job? Athletes every where, but the athletics (budget) situation will not be appealing to most coaches. Coach Arrington will land on his feet. He has done a good job every where he has been. Good Luck Coach A.
