    Which School is #1?

I personally know a few of the coaches that were basically hand picked to go to Ensworth to start the programs. They are very deserving. Great coaches and great men. Coach Pack, Caudill, Bowers will do a great job on the football end. The school and facilities are phenominal. I really like the "indoor practice facility" disguised as an auxillary 3 floor basketball gym. The campus is beautiful. Great location. Look for big things from Ensworth in the very near future, both in academics and athletics.

    Which School is #1?

Soon to be Ensworth. Within 5 years, no one will want to play them in anything. Great facilities, great coaches starting their programs. Could be scary.
  6. Congrats to Greenbrier. Very physical game. Both teams played hard and with class. Hope #40 and #32 for Greenbrier are OK. Big crowd to watch 2 good teams battle. Good luck to both teams in their efforts to reach postseason play.
  7. The Greenbrier v Creek Wood game is still on for Friday @ 7:30 pm. It looks like the worst weather may miss Middle Tennessee Friday night. Good decision to play this game on Friday? I hope so. Big crowd expected @ Creek Wood. The field may be wet, but the weather may be gone. Hope Greenbrier has a safe trip to Charlotte Friday Night.
  8. Please disregard tink69. The players and coaches of CW know what is ahead of them this week. Greenbrier is a well coached team and are at the level that CW wants to achieve. The coaches, players, and community of CW have the upmost respect for Greenbrier. We look forward to the game and have a safe trip down.
  9. In response to COACHG: I know that Sycamore, Cheatham, Creek Wood, and Montgomery Central are all within 30 minutes of each other. I do not think it would make much sense to move any of them from each other, beside, they are also in the same district in other sports. Now, Greenbrier is a haul for these schools, as well as Giles County and Marshall County. My idea is this: Region 4-3A: Livingston, Greenbrier, Macon, Dekalb, Station Camp, White House, Lipscomb, and Pearl Cohn. Region 5-3A: Montgomery Central, Page, Giles, Marshall, Creek Wood, Sycamore, Cheatham, and Spring Hill. *Of course no one knows what the TSSAA will do, But they will either use I-40 as a barrier for North/South or use I-24 as a barrier between East/West. Lipscomb and Pearl both have Interstate access to whatever region they will be put in. I just know there are 16 teams in 3A Middle TN, it makes sense to make two 8 team regions. ????????????
  10. Take 440 Memphis and get off on Hillsboro road. Hillsboro is across the street from Green Hills Mall. Can't miss it.
  11. Does anyone have any ideas what they may do with the 16 3A teams in Mid TN? An idea- Region 4-3A: Livingston, White House, Station Camp, Greenbrier, Macon County, Dekalb County. Region 5-3A: Marshall County, Spring Hill, Montgomery Central, Page, Giles County, Sycamore, Cheatham, Creek Wood. Where will they place Lipscomb and Pearl Cohn? I'm sure interstate access will be a factor. They are 2 quality teams that will make any region competitive. Should be interesting. With an even 16 teams, one would think that they would make two 8 team regions.
  12. I would think that Goodpasture would stay 2A so they can be in the region with the other Nashville Private schools and make money at the gate. They will still try to keep Lipscomb on the schedule. I also think that many of the Middle Tennessee 2A teams may jump to 3A. It would make for some interesting rivalries. Some teams that I think that may make the move up for the first time are: Harpeth, Fairview, Waverly, Stewart County, Westmoreland. Playing up again in '05 may be Upperman, Smith County, York, Jackson County, and Cannon County. That would put up a lot of 3A teams in Middle Tennessee. Question: Would they try to have 2 Middle Tennessee or 3 Middle Tennessee regions? I may have left off a team or two. Sorry. Also, White House and Spring Hill are back in 3A unless they choose to play up. Would like to hear your thoughts ELA.
  13. If Goodpasture stays in 2A, then they will probably be with the other private schools in Nashville and be in the same district and regions as in all other sports. If they choose to play up in 3A, then the TSSAA will do everything in their power to keep them and Lipscomb in the same region. The only question will be is: Who gets to deal with them: Region 4-3A or region 5-3A? Either way, a lot of people will be upset. It should be interesting.
  14. Ela, Something to ponder? Would it be a benefit for Stewart County, Harpeth, and Waverly to play up in class AAA? You numbers are not that far off from 3A anyway. Then you could have Dover, Cheatham, Harpeth, Sycamore, Creekwood, Waverly, and Montgomery Central all playing in the same district / region in all sports. Talk about building rivalries???? Great gates. Also, it gets you away from all privates except Lipscomb.
  15. Creek Wood High School in Dickson County, because of a cancellation, needs a Freshman game on October 21 @ Creek Wood. Start time is at 6:30 pm. Creek Wood will return the game in 2005. For info call (615) 740-6000, or email at chuckdaniel@dcbe.org.
  16. Creek Wood is playing Lawrence County in the Columbia Lions Bowl Jamboree this Friday at 6:00 pm
  17. ELA, I am a representative of Creek Wood High School, and 2 JV games were set up with the old staff between the 2 schools. They are scheduled for 9/13 at your place and 10/4 here at CWHS. Both games scheduled for 6:00 pm. Do you want to change anything? You can contact me at 615-708-0173. We may have a conflict with the 10/4 date because of fall break (2 weeks). We can discuss it.
  18. Untrue. Coach Daniel is at Creek Wood. Coach Troy Williams is the Interim Head Coach going into Spring Practice. He is a fine coach in whatever capacity he is in or will be. The job has been posted however. Closing date: May 11, 10:00 am. Good Luck Applicants.
  19. Thanx for the kind words COACHSP. I do not know who you are, but if you know me, you know that I'm pretty much an idiot, but I do love to coach and be with the kids. That is why we are in it.

Creek Wood and Cheatham should be a pretty good game. With all things being equal, Cheatham is probably a little more talented, but Coach Clapper has done a great job of bunting and moving base runners to make Cheatham play defense. Cheatham is a good team and it will be hard to beat them 3 times in a row. Creek Wood is still a JV team. Coach Clapper has done a great job in preparing and having patience with the youngsters on this year's team. They only have 1 senior, 5 juniors, and the rest are sophomores with 2 Freshmen getting extended innings and at bats. Their top 3 pitchers in the rotation are all sophomores. Just being able to compete this year at all shows the job that Coach Clapper has done. Good Luck to the Red hawks!!

    Jefferson County

I do not have a stake in this, but I will voice my opinion: Jeff County got a steal when they hired Euvarard. I played with him at Middle and he way overachieved as a player. He outworked everyone at his position and turned himself into a great player. He was 6'0", 195 lbs (maybe) and playing outside LB against teams like Eastern Kentucky, Murry State, and Gergia Southern, etc. He has carried that over to his coaching. I have been a part of 2 different staffs that had to play his Oakland and Clarksville teams. His teams were ALWAYS prepared in every aspect of the game. He takes great pride in the aspect of the game that a lot of coaches lose ballgames with: Kicking game. His Clarksville Team had 0 talent and he was able to keep his team in the game against a Northeast team that had Marcus Gildersleeve (Va Tech), Travis Stephens (Tennessee), and many more great players. His team was able to play with them because of his scheme. I have also coached at Riverdale, I know first hand how good Riverdale is and have been in the past and the great coaching staff that Coach Rankin has and had. For Oakland to beat them a couple of times is ridiculous, but somehow they did. So, Jeff County fans, relax and let the man get his feet wet and you will reep the rewards of success in time. Probably quicker than you think. The ONLY problem I see here is that it is unfortunate that Jeff County did not have a teaching position open immediately so he could move right on in. That appears to be the school systems fault, or a budget problem. At least with this situation, you know who your coach is. Just think if the kids have been working out and going thru a 1/2 way spring practice with only assistants doing the job. How fair would that be to the kids? At least they know who their leader is and their is no uncertainty.
  23. Are you guys having a sale because you are dropping the program or are they just left over equipment?
