  1. According to twitter Rivalry Thursday game on 10/21 at Powell.
  2. There was 4 at first. McCallie was in the original tournament bracket that I saw and they along with Morristown West, withdrew.
  3. To be honest there is nothing that can be done about it now whatever the reason it was there’s and not my place to judge. Good luck the rest of the season.
  4. Then there was no reason not to play since they’re not that good.
  5. I don't the younger generation appreciate Jordan's competitive fire.
  6. I was there too and it looked like the game plan was to get the ball inside to a 7’0 center who scored 22. If that’s your opinion that’s your opinion I’m not going to belittle you because we have different opinions (it’s bad enough that I catch a lot of grief from my friends and students because I believe Jordan is better than LeBron) . I can respect that. I’ve seen him play against Gonzaga Prep out of DC, Gray Collegiate in SC, The Christ School and other schools with highly recruited kids and he’s done more than hold his own. But everyone has their own opinions. Speaking of what’s your view on Knox County shutting down the winter sports? I hate it for the athletes. I know COVID is serious but football seem to go untouched.
  7. What I'm saying is it's my opinion. Sorry that it's not yours but I guess thats what makes people people isn't it....free will? Anyway I hope we get to see them match up too. I'm sure your connections kept you in the loop regarding the IMG/Catholic game, I was there at the game and it makes perfect sense for IMG to come all the way to Tennessee from Florida to not try, after losing to Briarcrest weeks earlier, and all those players (who are friends and played AAU) not to give any effort.
  8. I've never seen him play. I have seen B.J Edwards. Everyone who watched the IMG game last year agreed he was clearly the best guard on the floor that night. I'll eventually see Skyy play. He must be good to sign with Kentucky.
  9. Knoxville Catholic is looking for an opponent
  10. I have been saying that for years. This state is too small for 9 classes in football and 6 classes in basketball. 4 classes in D-1 football, 2 classes in D-2 football and two classes in all sports.
  11. Chris Burr page has Fulton class of 2004 on it so I'm assuming he's from Knoxville. I'm curious did Skyy Clark even enroll at Brentwood Academy? IF he did and then transferred to Ensworth, how is he eligible?
  12. I was told that Fr. Ryan contacted Catholic and canceled the game. I don't know how true that was but I doubt Catholic would have had any issues traveling to Fr. Ryan to play.
  13. I thought Clark transferred to Brentwood Academy? If he's at Ensworth then they will be a serious title threat. As for Christian Brothers, they return guard Chandler Jackson (who is a junior) and from what I've seen on twitter he's picking up some major offers. I agree D2-AA will have some talented teams as well as some talented individual players. Defending champs Knoxville Catholic plays at MBA in December.
  14. Knoxville Catholic is looking for a hall of fame basketball game. Available dates are November 16,17, 18, 20 or 21.
  15. They still have junior Handje Tamba (7'0) and a 6'7 freshman. The Irish only lost one senior off last years team but the schedule they are playing this season is tougher than last years. Coach Hutchens trying to get his guys battle tested and ready for DII-AA.
  16. Any news on who PC hired for the boys basketball job?
  17. In the East: Catholic, Baylor and McCallie return a lot of their starters. If my memory is correct all of their leading scorers return: Edwards for Catholic, Kurtz for Baylor and Rivers for McCallie, and all three teams should be very competitive. In the Middle Brentwood Academy, not sure what the other teams return. Out West I would assume Christian Brothers with Briarcrest losing so many starters. I just don’t know much about the rest of the teams in DII-AA
  18. If my memory serves correct wasn’t Moore County looking for a Coach last year too?
  19. I was giving an example. If an upper East Tennessee team was to host play it at ETSU. If a Knoxville Area team is hosting play at Alcoa or Farragut or South Doyle Middle, they have a huge gym.
  20. I can’t remember who said it being that it was a few years ago but a poster on CoachT made a comment about the private schools and public’s making a complete split and he said the next thing we will here is rural and urban schools splitting. I told him he was wrong but Lord have mercy he was right, I owe that guy a drink lol
  21. I personally think they should leave it at 3 classes. There are already districts in AA and A with 4 or 5 team districts. One of the issues in football is too many championships and how water downed it is, I think it should be earned keep it three classes. Eliminate the home court substate and play a neutral site game but do a double header for fans. For instance, in East Tennessee the class a substate could be at Oak Ridge, the AA substate at Walter State and the AAA substate at ETSU
  22. That’s the best idea I’ve read. Play substate/sectionals on a neutral court but how would you schedule it? You could do a double header in a neutral gym for the quarterfinals. Or do like D2 and let the quarterfinals be played at the home of the higher seed or in a neutral gym. I do like the idea of playing just semifinal and finals in Nashville.
