  1. Sycamore beats Cheatham by atleast 10 home and away. Harpeth will (or should) beat Cheatham, but as far as the Harpeth/Sycamore game goes, I'd think twice about counting SHS out. Sycamore is a totally different team from last year. More experienced, fast paced, intense D, and they have scorers ... similar to Harpeth's game. That should be a GREAT game... SYCAMORE @ HARPETH, DEC. 9, 6:30 ...I'm counting down. Tough road game. I really believe that these two teams will split during the regular season. I think the key difference in these two teams is their bench, Harpeth having a slighter edge. But good luck to both though.
  2. Right, no disrespect to the Harpeth program. I just think coach has his priorities mixed up. (I think YOU know what I mean). There are much more experienced, talented guards than he is playing. Ensminger, Mendenhall, Richardson, Flippo, and Lawrence should be their main go-to guards. As for posts, Sr. Mitchell is being asked to fill in a big hole. Yes, more versatile, but not as powerful, and when you're a post, you've got to be. Second string to Sr. post Mitchell would be her little sis. Stronger, more aggressive, and more talented than all the other posts on that team. Good luck this year, Lady Indians.
  3. I wouldn't go as far as to say Harpeth is "well coached." But they are loaded on the perimeter. Mendenhall, a Jr., and Ensminger, a Sr., can light it up! But they can't rely on only those two to carry them through the season. Their bench is gonna have to step up and play. If their coach would play who needs to be playing.. uh um... they will do fine in the season. But other than that, Harpeth is pretty weak on the inside as far as post-play goes. Hmmm... can anyone say "zone defense"???
  4. Don't count Harpeth out- they play a tough schedule for a reason: to prep for the tournaments. Your season record means nothing when you reach districts, regions, etc; it's a brand new season of games. No shame to the Lady Cubs, they are very talented and have a lot of stars (something I think that hurts them) and will undoubtedly be the "team to beat" just like they always are come tourny time. Over rated? Maybe. Harpeth already has the chemistry that Cheatham needs. TEAM ball isn't something you can teach, it comes naturally; and its natural for the Lady Indians.
  5. Mendenhall was out of the game due to an injury that occurred the previous day in practice. She unfortunately sprained her "healthy" ankle, but she has until Jan.4th to recover. Get well soon #1 Balla! PeAcE...
  6. Harpeth had no intensity, and was unprepared for this fast DCA defense. Turnovers (20 to be exact) by the Indians and rebounds only aided the DCA offense. Obviously the Lady Indians overlooked this fine DCA team and were not focused on their game. Hopefully, tonight they can pin point their mistakes from last night, learn from them, and correct them. As for Cheatham "whooping" them, I'm almost sure that if Harpeth would have had the same intensity last night as they did vs. Cheatham, Harpeth would be 11-0 today...no question. But congrats to DCA, and good luck to the Lady Indians tonight vs. Goodpasture @ HHS 6:00. PeAcE!
  7. All part of the *Harpeth Christmas Classic*... DCA @ Harpeth 6:00, Friday (Dec. 17th) Goodpasture @ Harpeth 6:00, Sat. (Dec. 18th) Good luck Lady Indians!!! Keep on rollin' baby!!!
  8. The Lady Indians came out slow against an aggressive Lady War Eagle team. Sycamore was well prepped and killed Harpeth against their press. For the Lady Indians, defense was tentative and shots did not fall until the 2nd half when they came out ready to play. Props go to the coaching staff over across the river @ Sycamore- by far, the most improved team from last year. Good game, but not "Harpeth" style ball. Harpeth was led by Kristis Ensminger's 15 pts. and 9 boards; Sycamore was led by Lacey Neunschwander's (sorry if I spelled that wrong) 22 pts. If you want more stats for this game go to The Tennessean and go to local sports.
  9. The final score to tonight's game: Harpeth 61, Cheatham 46. Banes and Lawson both fouled out for Cheatham Co. Harpeth's defense really stepped up and shook Cheatham Co. It was a great game on both sides. I don't know all the scorers for the game but here are a few from Harpeth: Mendenhall- 15 pts. Finch- 10 pts., 14 rebounds Ellis- 7, 9 assists, 3 steals Sorry I don't know all the stats but that's as good as I can do right now. Luckily, Harpeth, now 8-0, held their composure and just took over the game at crucial points. Great game ladies!!! Thanks to the fans who came out (you really made a difference) and for everyone's "support."Also, congrats to the Harpeth guys' team who also buckled down and came out w/ a win. Clean sweep! Good luck Fri. vs. Sycamore!!! PeAcE...
  10. Casey Atteberry--Cheatham County. She's a junior, and her team is in the Elite-8 at state. They will be playing Oliver Springs in the first round. Good luck Lady Cubs...gotta represent 10-AA!

  13. So if she gets it this year, could we be looking at a repeat award for her next year? The senior class this year doesn't have the numbers like the junior class does, but it's their last year to have a chance for the award. I know who the award is going to...but I can still have my opinions. I'm out...
  14. No doubt Sycamore is a very physical, go-hard team...they make the opposing team look ugly. Their young talent with varsity experience and also their coaching staff will make them the team to beat in the future, especially when the next freshman class arrives and the next. Good luck to the Lady Wareagles on Tuesday vs. Stewart Co.
  15. Personally, I think it will be a senior--mainly b/c it's their last year. There are alot of talented juniors in district 10-AA. But they still have one more year to get the MVP award. My two senior picks are between Kris Nolen (Cheatham Co.), and Amy Glascgow (Stewart Co.). Both are talented players whom have the ability to play at the next level. If a junior got it, it would most likely be Casey Atteberry--you know how to stop her, but actually executing that is another story. She's got it all--the moves, the shot, Aunt Pat... Anyway, good luck this coming week to all District 10-AA teams in the tourny. I'm out...
