  1. Greenbrier hasn't lost a region game since I believe the 2002 season. The fans of the Bobcats will be out in force, and they have played what I think is a more demanding schedule. I think this game decides the region title and I'm picking GREENBRIER in a close one.
  2. Excellent point!!! There's nothing worse than a fair weather fan. I may not agree with every coaching decision, but I don't criticize them. Through it all, they have the interest of the team at heart.
  3. PREACH ON BROTHER-----DARN STRAIGHT---EXCELLENT POINT
  4. I had to listen to this kind of comments ALL last season. The lack of a passing game against the Tigers had to do with the fact that we constantly faced third and long because we couldn't run the ball. Townsend had no time to throw because the offensive line was consistently beaten---badly!!! When he did get his passes off, they were either dropped or, in some instances, badly thrown. Still, he managed to complete six of sixteen attempts. Macon County's quarterback, as good as he was, couldn't have done any better. You cannot throw without protection. This game was no upset! I have been a White House fan for the better part of 31 years and we simply were beaten by a superior team.
  5. I say let him keep posting----we can't really pick on him if he's gone; Where's the fun in that?
  6. As a White House Blue Devils fan, I took no exception to the new blue slogan. I assumed it meant that there was a new attitude at Heritage this year---the losing ways are a thing of the past. Both teams deserve our full support.
  7. Two young and inexperienced teams make for an interesting battle. If White House can't figure out how to stop the run, it could be a long night. Of course, I never pick against the boys in TRUE BLUE!!!
  8. If you've never played a road game in Orange Mound (that's the home of Memphis Melrose) you have no idea what a difficult environment it can be. The Greenbrier atmosphere and crowd are great, but it's no ORANGE MOUND! ! !
  9. White House is 11-1 in the past two seasons at home and have the added element of revenge. Page was undermanned against Independence. This score should be closer than the Page/Independence one but White House wins 24-7.
  10. Being a White House fan, I'll leave the Devils out of this list. Here is my list of the top ten teams standing in our way if we want the golden ball: (in no particular order) David Lipscomb Marshall County Greenbrier Notre Dame Knox Fulton Polk County Pearl Cohn Knox Catholic Dyersburg Austin East
  11. Where is the love guys? (Greenbrier has earned respect!!!) Despite my bias towards my beloved Blue Devils, I've always felt you're the top dog untill somebody knocks you off your perch. That being said, here are my picks: 1) Greenbrier 2) White House 3) Pearl-Cohn 4) Macon County 5) Sycamore 6) Station Camp 7) DeKalb County
  12. I beg to differ---what highlander said was "that's the only title yuins(nice English) will ever win" He may not have downed Ricky personally, but when you down our program, you down everyone affiliated with it. Way to go Ricky!!!!!
  13. Hey Charlie--- Unless I'm badly mistaken (and White House fans never are), this is a Notre Dame/Livingston thread. Leave us out of it. You outsiders who claim to know everything about others' programs make me laught till my sides split. GO LIVINGSTON WILDCATS--LIVE THE DREAM!!!!
  14. It will be interesting to see how Notre Dame fares on the road against a team that can both pass and run the ball with just as much consistency as the Irish. As for the Irish fan who was in my face Friday night telling me to SHUT UP? I am really sorry--- I did not realize a player was down on the field at the time. I noticed later in the game that you fell victim to the same situation. Good luck to you guys, but I have to go with the Wildcats in this one.----Something about the colors blue and white together.
  15. Please let this come to an end. My beloved Devils played their hearts out and came oh so close for the 2nd year in a row. Notre Dame won and advances---end of story. For those of you with no dog in this race.......let it go! The sun came up Saturday morning just as I expected. Life goes on!
  16. There is a lot to be thankful for and for which to be proud this season: ---A 1st ever victory over Beech ---A 23rd straight winning record ---A 14th straight playoff appearance ---A playoff victory over Greenbrier ---A record setting running back ---A record setting punt returner ---The chance to play for a semifinal berth in the state playoffs THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES----2005 BLUE DEVILS---BDP LIVES ON ! ! ! ! !
  17. Thank you---that is the point in the Rowdy Bunch making their presence known. It's not about attention, it is about having fun and making it as difficult for the opposition offense to operate as possible.---Similar to crowd noise at any location. Good luck to you guys, you are a very balanced team, but Livingston is a former really good rival of the Devils so I'll be pulling for the Wildcats. Besides, who doesn't love a good cinderella story? GO WILDCATS!!! LIVE THE DREAM!!!
  18. I do miss that fight song, but since we're playing Notre Dame this week, I think we'll get to hear it all night Friday.
  19. I'm so glad that I am not the only one who thinks the critical remarks of the band were totally unneeded. As for the remark that you couldn't hear them Friday night, I couldn't hear much of anything with all the noise both crowds were making.
  20. Feel the love..... This will be my final post---I'm sure so many of you are upset to hear that--yeah right!!!! I am sorry that anything I may say on here may rub anyone the wrong way, it's just that I sure wouldn't want 300-1000 people every Friday standing behind me while I tried to do my job and criticize me along the way. Sure, I disagree with the coaches at times, who doesn't? But, I have to believe that they have the best interest of the team at heart regardless. Also, I have always maintained and will always argue that I am not a coach. I leave them to their job and would hope that they leave me to mine. In the end (and this is the end of my involvement) DON'T LET ANY GREENBRIER OR OTHER FAN THINK THAT WE ARE ALL NOT IN THIS TOGETHER----FAMILY ALWAYS ARGUE AMONGST THEMSELVES----BUT LET SOMEONE OUTSIDE MESS WITH US---NO WAY!!!!!
