  1. McMinn leads Cleveland at the end of the 3rd Quarter 22-14
  2. Cleveland High School was forced to play on graduation night a few years ago /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> in middle TN because the home team did not won't to play on Saturday. They had a great pitcher and did not want him to pitch on Saturday because he would not have enough rest for the first game of the state tourney. The T$$AA would not step in because they said it's up to the home team. The princapal, school board and team would not change. Our kids missed their graduation because the game would not be changed.
  3. The process of the officials getting to the state tourney is as follows: 1. The state supervisor over the local association picks 3-5 officials. He sends them to the state office T$$AA. 2. The T$$AA ask for schedules of these officials. 3. A representative from the T$$AA secretly comes and watches the officials work. 4. Then the T$$AA contacts the state supervisor to tell who was nominated to work the state tourney. 5. The official(s) work a sub-state games as the referee in the women or men side. 6. The officials know who is going to the state about 3 weeks before the tourney starts. The officials are picked based on merit, work during the regular season. Yes I was an officials for 25 years in basketball and football.
  4. White County @ Bradley Central is also on WCLE (FM 104.1) in Cleveland TN @ www.mymix1041.com/
  5. A local Chattanooga TV station is broadcasting the finals. On Charter in Cleveland its either Channel 11 or 6.
  6. The Visitation for Larry Sells will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Grissom Funeral Home, Cleveland, Tennessee from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home and Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Please keep his wife and family in your prayers.
  7. Longtime sports official Larry Sells of Cleveland TN died of a heart attack this evening (Thursday) in a local hospital. Please pray for his family in the time of their loss. I will post arrangements at a later date. Robbie Derrick
  8. The TSSAA pays for the schools catastrophic insurance out of this money. The schools voted on this back quite of a few years ago. The schools said this way would be cheaper than the schools paying for the insurance themselves.
  9. Morris should not been tired. He pitched on Friday night against Cleveland and had his normal rest. They wanted him to have 3 days rest. Thats what Tullahoma told Cleveland about playing on friday instead of earlier on friday in the sectional. Against Cleveland he was predictable but Cleveland is not a good curve ball hitting team. The 1st baseman is the one that hurt Cleveland with 3 hits.
  10. If you are going to eat on the way in, CHattanooga at the mall, in Cleveland exit 27 (right about 2 miles at the mall) or exit 49 (athens) has a few places. If you go to exit 49----to get to the high school is goo to HWY 11 intersection, go right about a mile---school on left.
  11. Thanks guys I had my parks messed up last night.
  12. davidlimbaugh Are you coming to athens tommorow night. Good luck. The best way to get to McMinn is get on I-75 and go north to exit 42. Turn right and go 3 miles to HWY 11. Turn left on HWY 11 and go about five miles and the school is on the right. You will see the baseball field close to othe HWY. Go past the field and turn right thru the gates and veer to the right to get to the field. They have old concrete bleachers and a low fence and the fans are not protect to well. Good Luck
  13. Is the stadium by the school or is it the old minor league park by the swimming pool. My son played there a few years ago. I need to know so I can make plans to know how long it take form Cleveland to the old minor league park or the school. THANKS
  14. The gate is split 3 ways. TSSAA gets thier cut from the top before anything is taken out. The the host school takes out money for the overhead and whats left over is divide among the 2 teams involved (travel, food and other bills) The state office pays for the umpires out of the gate. Cleveland traveled a couple of years ago to Riverdale and lost money after they was rembursed by the state. I know the Atheltic budgets need money to play the games and every school has a crunch. Theres no sour grapes here. I just had a root canal done and the medicine hasn't worn off yet. Just a little fun and something to haggle about on a rainy Thursday night. Good luck to Tullahoma/Cleveland winner in the state on Tuesday morning @ 10 AM CST.
  15. Why don't they play @ 3 PM. Cleveland has ask for that time and that would give Morris about 8 hrs more rest.
