  1. I think Blackman has done very well for being such a new program, the coaching staff and players have done a great job....I think it also upsets the balance of power in the boro...
  2. Congrats to Red Boiling Springs, Mt. Juliet, Kenwood, Glencliff, Wilson Central fans......... For not voting yourselves number 1..... [Edited by Rustynail on 10-18-02 2:08P]
  3. Did not mean to hurt your feelings there, but I mean why pat yourself on the back for not doing something stupid? I would not pat myself on the back for not playing in traffic or not eating poison. But if that is the recognition you seek, then by all means, congrats for not voting your team number #1....
  4. Why would they vote Smith county #1 ? That would be as silly as Andy Mac. voting MTSU #1 in the coaches poll....
  5. I agree with Scappy-Do , I would take a Oakland over about 9 of those schools if I had money riding on a game between the two......
  6. Oakland played a heck of a game, the tradition is not there yet as a state favorite but they seem to improve every year and the gap that was between Riverdale and everyone else is getting smaller. The game really came down to the pick off on the last Oakland drive, if that did not happened you were looking at a tied game or an Oakland win at the end of the fourth...but what if's does not matter....but I think I would be proud no matter which team you root for. These kids, played huge on both sidelines.....and yes #75 was a big guy, I tell you another lineman that impressed me was Oakland's #66 , Chris Smith, I think.......

From what I have seen, Riverdale's D is what defines them this year. I know it is great the Blaze have Rico back, but Riverdale will have to do without Taron Henry for the season...if Both teams were 100% healthy I give Riverdale the edge....but the Blaze are very well coached and have come into their own.....either way, it is going to be some really good football games in the playoffs......
  8. I went last night to Riverdale and finally got to see some real hard nose football teams. Yes, after being disappointed by the Owls weak showing against the Jackets, it was nice to see two talanted teams on the field at the same time....man what a game! The coaches coached and the players played...Listen if you want to see some great football, I know it is in Rutherford County....
  9. IT WAS A GOOD HARD FOUGHT GAME. I JUST HATED TO SEE A TEAM LOSE. IT WAS A REALLY SWELL GAME, BY-GOLLY!!!
  10. I think the weakness I seen from Cascade was the fact they are missing "BJ" in the middle. If they can find someone to step up there and get the QB and WR to get in a rythm they should win..
  11. Well, I agree the Tennessean is doing better, but still it is weak and playing catch up...I guess the small independants seem to be doing much better with far less resources.....to me the Tennessean is just trying to make sure it captures all the money it can. The other guys seem to be doing it for the game.
  12. SHS will beat them 28-10......
  13. I read the Prep Scrapbook in the One Paper (also free) and City Paper along with the Tennessean. I think the City paper does a better job than the Tennessean, but it seems to cater to private schools. The Tennessean makes me wonder if their reporters have seen any of the teams really play. And the Prep Primer is stupid....fun with nicknames? Lastnames? who cares, talk about the kids and the programs....and not just MBA, BA, CPA talk Metro, Dickson, Rutherford, Wilson, etc.....That is one thing I think the Prep Scrapbook does better than the others I read, they cover all sizes public and private.....plus I have actually ran into their staff reporters unlike the Tennessean's bunch...
