  1. haha like the legendary michael chang?
  2. dale maxfield, district 28 favorite. a strong player from a strong district, i see no room for debate.
  3. according to saywhat? in another thread, the new ensworth athletic facilities will be equiped with clay courts.
  4. The 2 grass courts i have ever set foot on both exist within the walls of Hillwood Country Club just outside of the Belle Meade area.

    Brian Baker?

i personally know brian's brother art, who is a rather good collegeate player at furman and his sister, catherine who also plays college tennis. it seems the sport runs rich in the family.
  6. how do each of those teams rank in their district?
  7. if you're talking about the feel underfoot, nothing compares to the surfaces of McCallie and MBA.
  8. yes because high school matches are played on clay courts and all.....
  9. there's really no avoiding it coasterboarder. the bowelmoving "third" will III CPA's way past FRA without any trouble whatsoever. btw nice forfeit victory today. does that make you 2 & 1 now?
  10. I, too, like clay but for different reasons. I think it allows the ball to slow more off the bounce and gives more time for shot preparation- making every shot a little easier to see and swing at than on hard surfaces. I tend to hit more winners on clay... i would have assumed you to prefer the clay courts as you have the homeslice, according to ARF.
  11. i personally think grass courts are the best to play on despite the demanding maintenence requirements of such. Being the master of the drop-shot, i enjoy beating opponents who would normally mutilate me 6-love 6-love as balls rarely bounce but a few inches from the ground. Also, grass courts are great for diving and wiping that smile off the other guy's face when he thinks he just got a winner on you only to find you stretched out on the court and the ball slowly rolling near his feet.
  12. zone is good but those MBA guys are much too quick in their offensive plays. straight up man to man will be the only way to successfully prevent the excecution of MBA's finess and precision-oriented offence.
  13. have you been watching FRA's 4x8 team very closely ARF? do you know what kind of splits they are hitting compared to everyone elses?
  14. John Haines or better known as Coach Goofy
  15. i would have to promptly agree with coasterboarder. The FRA boy's tennis team has had 3 solid rebuilding seasons and definatly seem ready to compete at the state level.
