well, here is what I know for what it is worth. Boone did not play well for 3 quarters. They seem to be so uptight and lacking in leadership. Campbell got so mad at one of the seniors, he sat her for the whole 3rd quarter. When he finally let her back in the game about 2 minutes into the 4th, she came out firing. she scored 8 points, had about 3 or 4 rebounds in 3 or 4 minutes. But when Boone got within 6 points, the refs started with the whistle. South Greene had about 8 free shots in the final 2 minutes.
Can't blame the refs though, it looks like the girls are not playing as a team. Plus I am not sure how hard the coach was trying to win. The same thing happened last year in the preseason. I truly believe he doesn't care whether they win or lose the scrimmages and the hall of fame games. He plays all 12 players quite a bit.
Same went for the Greeneville game the night before, although believe it or not the girls played better against Greeneville than against South Greene. Foul trouble hurt them in the second half. They just got afraid to play because they were calling every little touch foul (against Boone). It was a very hostile environment. But, it will help them down the road. Hopefully they will start playing as a team and playing with more intensity than they have shown in the first HOF games.
Half to give some credit to Greeneville and South Greene....they both have really good teams and were playing well. Megan Lyons !!!!!! what a player! She is just great!!!!!!
