  1. I don't know where you got your information but as far as the player of the year goes, Charles Little got it. And Coach Green got coach of the year. They went down this week for their picture.
  2. mnewballer21...First of all I am sorry for your physical injuries that have henderd your basketball career as a walkon at Carson Newman. I hope that it all works out for you. In response to your post, Congratulations on your District Championship your freshman year. No Charles Little may not have been on a team that won the district, but he was on one that won the region and substate and went to the state tournament. Now, which one would you rather have. Unfortunately, you and your team mates will probably be the only ones that ever remember that District Championship. In all honesty all the district tournament does is determine the seeds for the region tournament. Obviously you are worried about your name being in the paper if you remember the headline of the article from your freshman year. WOW! You said that all the paper wants to talk about is Charles...well there wasn't a paper in the area writing about Charles until tournament time. When a kid scores 49 points and has 26 rebounds in one game in the region why wouldn't the paper be all over him. What did you want them to write about...Ooltewah getting beat? There was even animosity in your comment about him being up for Mr. Basketball. Why wouldn't he be? It is funny how people all across the state can recognize talent when they see but a little, jealous Ooltewah boy can't!
  3. mnewballer21, why are you SO jealous of Cleveland and Charles Little? Every single time you post anything that has to do with Cleveland there is always such a jealous tone. I realize that you never beat them while you were at Ooltewah, I realize that you were not any type of player yourself (depsite your arguement that you "understand the game so well"), and I realize that you are not playing anywhere now and never had the chance to...but why can't you just let it go. Are you jealous that you were never in the paper or that no one ever wanted to do an article on you and the paper wasn't "all over you"? Really, what is your problem? Every time you post you make yourself look like such an idiot because you are so jealous and negative. Everybody knows to take what you write on here with a grain of salt because you don't have a clue what you are talking about and you only write on here to talk negative about people (except your wannabe Ootlewah boys). You couldn't tie Charles Little's shoes for him and couldn't even be a water boy on most teams in the area! I am sorry that you never were the focus of the newspaper, that you never were a player yourself, or that you guys never experienced success. But that doesn't make it okay for you to bash those that are in the paper or that are players and have success with their teams!
  4. Congratulations to the raiders! You boys are playing great! I also want to say, what a heck of a coaching job done by Aaron Green against Cumby and the jets. Coach Green, you had a great game plan and your boys executed it well! I was very impressed. I can't tell you how many people in the stands were commenting on how well coached and prepared the raiders were! Good luck!
  5. Charles had a great, complete game! Not only did he have 49 points but he had 26 rebounds! We are all so proud of him and the raiders team! Good luck to the boys and to Coach Green and his staff!
  6. All you are on here ripping Little, they always say that jealousy brings out the worst in people...especially in athletics! I would be willing to bet that all of you that have the negative things to say about him have never made it past high school athletics yourself. I will be the first to say that Charles Little does not play to his capabilities. He should absolutely dominate in every area on the high school level. What most of you do not know is that you can not coach or teach what he has and that is pure athletic ability. There aren't too many coaches, high school or college, that would disagree with that. That is why he has the chance to be a good college player. Everything to this point has come natural to him. Last night he had 22 points and 20 rebounds with little effort. If you all would be honest, you would have to admit that he is an excellent passer and sees the floor better than most guards do. That is, if you know anything about basketball. Does he need a jump shot, yes he most certainly does. Can he develop that, yes he can. And with his natural talent, that can be developed pretty quickly. He will get that at the next level. He hasn't had to have that in high school because he can dominate within two feet of the basket. There aren't too many high school players, when he plays 100%, that can stop him inside the paint! But in college he will have to have a jump shot to play. That is what individual workouts weekly with your postition coach are for in college...to develop, refine, and maintain fundamentals! I understand where you all can say that he doesn't play hard all of the time...I totally agree. But as far as his ability and his future...it could be as big or as little as he wants it to be...he has that potential. Only time will tell. College is a completely different level. One thing is for sure, he signed the scholarship so evidentally one pretty good D-1 program sees his assets and potential and so does the McDonald's High School All-American committee! So next year when he is playing D-1 and competing against some of the best teams in the country, many of you will still be sitting here writing on coacht about the next high school player that you can pick out to criticize and belittle because you have nothing better to do and because you never made it past high school!
  7. Anytime that Kent Smith prepares a team for their next opponent, I'll take his coaching ability over anyone that comes to mind. After all he is 17-3 against CHS in the last 20 meetings. Baconbreath, I have read post after post on coach t for a number of years and have kept my mouth shut. But there comes a point when something has to be said. In your professional position as a radio broadcaster for Bradley County sports, it seems to me that you makes some very unprofessional comments on this board. You are entitled to your opinion but I would think that with your position you wouldn't make comments like the one above (and many other). This comment was the last straw for me. And it would explain why you were at a loss of words during your entire broadcast Friday. Your team (Bradley) was down the entire game and your comments on the radio reflected that. You almost sounded like the Bradley crowd, SILENT!!!! It is sad that you broadcast both Cleveland and Bradley games, but your blood bleeds black and gold. I don't understand why you even come to Cleveland to broadcast Cleveland's games when everyone knows you don't support them in any way. Your gesture is all for show. Since you know your stats so well, look at Kent Smith's record for the last 20 meetings against all the teams in the district. You would find them to be pretty much the same but not as many losses probably. His record has been pretty strong because of the talent that he has had. It isn't just against Cleveland. But then again, you along with so many other Bradley County people, are a die hard Bradley fan and the only thing that matters is the record against Cleveland. Well chalk up another loss for you and your bears! Again, why do you even go through the notion of broadcasting games for Cleveland when your loyalty is and will forever be Bradley? You should let Cleveland get their own radio station and stick to your bears! If I were were Aaron Green or any other coach at Cleveland, or a player for that matter, I would refuse give you the time of day for your broadcast. Congratulations to A GREAT COACHING JOB BY AARON GREEN AND A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY THE BLUE RAIDERS! YOU ALL HAVE MY RESPECT!
  8. I don't have any stats but I do have some comments. Cleveland boys finally put together four quarters of basketball and beat a very good Bradley team. The boys played great and deserve a lot of credit but I also have to give credit to Coach Green. To say it plain and simple, Aaron Green OUT COACHED Kent Smith. Bradley didn't lose a player from last year's state runner-up team. They are loaded with basketball talent and can go deep on their bench with a lot of experience. Cleveland, on the other hand, lost 7 seniors last year and their starting point guard in Tim Cooper. Cleveland basically plays two seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores with three of those players having very little varsity experience. It is obvious that Bradley has more talent than Cleveland and that last night's game came down to the heart of the players (which they get from their coach) and coaching. Congratulations Raiders and Coach Green!
  9. This subject should have been dropped days ago but you all want to keep it going for some unkown reason. Allnet has pretty much summed up what was going for all of those so eager to find out. Jay WILL be playing in Huntsville after Christmas...he will NOT be sitting out any more games. Now can we drop this topic and let Jay play in peace!
  10. You all are still stuck on rumors. The TSSAA is not even involved in this so obviously you don't know the truth. You guys kill me with you theories based on rumors.
  11. Dblduce-I have heard all of the rumors and like I said before...they are just that-RUMORS! The key to your post is "from what I've heard". It isn't what you know for a fact, it is what you have heard. And that would be rumors.
  12. Dblcuce-To put down your red flag, I am not writing anything on here because there is nothing to write. Everything that has been said is strictly rumors on this board. No one knows the facts. I choose not to contribute to RUMORS about a KID!
  13. The final score was actually 57-51. I don't know the stats for McMinn but I know that Charles Little had 19 points, 21 rebounds, and 6 assists. That is some pretty good stats for someone that had a sub-par night in some peoples eyes. Charles had a lot of help last night. Colby, Alex, Charles J., and Levonte all played well. I have to say that after seeing them play a couple of games this year this young team is getting better every game!
  14. stayNskool-All you are doing is adding to the rumor mill. You have been misinformed.
  15. Tonights game was sloppy. I just want to point out a couple of things. In a previous post someone said, "and Charles Little is not the dominant force everyone thinks". I didn't see any reason to think that he did not dominate tonight. Ooltewah didn't have a player that could match up with him. He did whatever he wanted to do. This same person in the previous post also said, "while Jay Davis is good he is not good enough to make up for the loss of Tim Cooper". I agree that Cooper was a great loss for Cleveland, but obviously it didn't matter tonight against Ooltewah because Davis didn't even play. In my opinion it would have been an even better game for Cleveland if Davis would have played. There were way too many turnovers and missed free throws in this game. I thought both teams played hard.
