i think ppl may be counting lavergne out too soon,im not saying they'll be great, its hard to replace a player like grimes, but they had a pretty good freshman team last year.i've heard the biggest problem is that they're not coming together as a team yet.im looking forward to seeing wat this "new system" is all about and how it will work for them in what i believe to be the hardest region in the state.
smyrna's schedule this year is ......at hendersonville,at riverdale,gallatin,at blackman,brentwood,wilson central,at lavergne,at siegel,lebanon,oakland
region4fan,we have a pretty good number this year, aside from seniors we lost wesley peach(jr.), brandon james(sr.),and josh estes(sr.) who were all good players, from the looks of things we wont be hurting at any positions.
shady04,yes brandon james did quit football at shs,and yes he was one of our starters.he had hands like glues.the reason he quit football was so he could pursue baseball for his senior year!oh and dont count smyrna's recievers out, they have old and young players stepping up at the wr spot.they can only get better with a quarterback the calibur of wolke.smyrna will make the playoffs.its an expectation every year.
i would have to give my vote to smyrna.smyrna already plays in one of the hardest,if not the hardest region in tennessee(4-5A),putting them up against all the teams expected to always do well from the boro.not to mention their tough non-region games(hendersonville, gallatin, and brentwood).
this was a blowout even thought lavergne contained the run.the bulldogs passing game had too many weapons. The seniors showed out on senior night in smyrna.
the best team by far in the mid-state is smyrna, and since blackman was too stupid to sign up in the tmsaa they will only play for the mid-state title instead of the state title.way to go blackman middle!
