I think the run D will be fine. The linebackers we have returning are excelllent. Brandon Brown will be a monster in the middle this year. The D line does have some holes but i believe the talent will be there to fill in.

I see Cleveland easily averaging 40 a game this fall. The offense should be the best since the 93 team in my opinion. There should be some great competition at the QB spot with Miller, Gibson, and the soph. Shamblin. [Edited by MikeBleedsBlue on 2-3-03 2:01P]
  3. I was at Cleveland from 93-96 and I felt the same way you do now but as others have said teams go up and down. Maryville will always be good but no program can stay on a state championship level every year. Now these people calling for a 3-7 year are just haters plain and simple. Good luck to you this year and here's hoping we get another shot at you in the playoffs.
  4. Wait till the season starts. Barber was banged up almost all year and had a very young oline in front of him. The line got better and better as the year went on and 4 of them will be back next year. I'm not sure how many yards he had against Chatt. Central..but Cleveland won that game 51-0. Also it was Barber's first game back from a broken bone in his foot. #44 will lead Cleveland to great things this year.
  5. I heard the Gibson twins are back at Cleveland now and will be able to play next year. Does anyone have any ideas how they might fit in? QB is one of the few spots on the offense that needs to be filled next year so it should be interesting to see them.
  6. Levonte was a junior when this thread started. You're right he will be a senior this year and if he can stay healthy the sky is the limit for the kind of number he could put up.
  7. Cleveland left that region because a 4a region in the Chattanooga area was created 2 years later. It's tough having to go to Knoxville every week for a region game. When they first split to 5 classes that was the only 4a region Cleveland could join.
  8. Brandon Brown of Cleveland has to be on here. He was just a sophomore last year and led the team with over 120 tackles. He should have a huge upcoming junior season.
  9. Cleveland should be very strong next year. The core of the teams returns. They are absolutely loaded on offense. August is too far away! lol
  10. I've heard this will be the opening game for Cleveland next year. Can any West fans tell me how many starters will be back and how many seniors you lost this year? Only 9 months away..lol
  11. It's December 10th and I'm already ready for next season..lol. I know Maryville lost a lot of seniors but they'll just reload as always. Cleveland has the heart of their team returning and this will be the best team they've had since winning the state in '95. What about Motown West? Knox Central? Do they have a lot returning? Any middle and west TN info on teams like Hillsboro, Melrose, and East would be appreciated. Should be a fun and wide open year next year.
  12. Levonte Barber, Jay Davis, and Tim Cooper from Cleveland. This has to be one of the best classes CLeveland has had since the mid 90's.
  13. Well it's time to start talking about next season as much as I hate it. I think this will be the best Cleveland team since the '95 state champion one. The backfield is loaded with Levonte Barber, Jay Davis and Michael Hampton all returning. We'll have a new QB next year and I've heard it'll probably be a soph Shamblin. The offensive line returns 4 starters and we have all of of WR's back. On Defense we lose the front 4..this could be the only question mark. We should be set in the seconday and linebackers. This team has the potential to score a ton of points next year. How quick the D-line develops will determine just how far we can go in the playoffs.
  14. Congrats to Maryville tonight. Your o-line kinda wore us down in the second half. Cleveland just had too many dumb penalties to stay in the game..especially with a team as talented as the rebels. Look for Cleveland to come back strong next year as we return 9 starters on offense including Barber and 6 of Defense. Hopefully we'll meet again next year!
  15. I believe it said in the paper here he was 1-29 the 3 years he was a head coach.
  16. Exit 27 would be the best off of 75..just make a left on to Paul Huff parkway and pass the mall untill you hit the intersection with Keith street. Make a right there and Raider drive is on the right just a mile or 2 away. It would be interesting if Monore took that. He had an interview on the radio at halftime of the Central game and he sounded like he was happy where he was. We'll just have to see what happens. [Edited by MikeBleedsBlue on 11-18-02 8:03P]
  17. For the directions the easist was I'd say is to take Highway 11 all the way south to Cleveland. It runs right by the school..all you have to do it take a right onto Raider drive.
  18. They rebuilt the homeside a while back. Plenty of seats on the visiting side. Coach Monroe is still in Cleveland and usually attends every home game. I believe he is working for the phone company now.
  19. The field in in the same place..right next to the school. If you need directions to the school please post.
  20. Cleveland dominated that region in 93/94..i think all the other teams wanted us outta there as quick as they could get us;-) Here's some trivia..the last time Maryville played at Cleveland was 94 and the Blue Raiders won 42-6. Now as to this weeks game it's gonna be tough..i say it'll be won by 3 points and could go either way.
  21. Excuses are a sign of weakness. On a dry field Cleveland's backs would have been able to cut and move better and would have gotten to the outside of you D for some big plays. Just admit it Central fans..you overlooked us and were just plain beaten by a better team. [Edited by MikeBleedsBlue on 11-18-02 6:00P]
  22. Cleveland's D line is very tough. They start 4 seniors there. They're not all that big..but are very strong and quick. They are very similar to Central's line after seeing them last night. You're right..I think that's the key to the game.
  23. You sound a little bitter to me..lol. What do you mean we shouldn't have beaten you? We shut you out the second half and you had 2 big plays on offense all night against our D. I bet your QB Helton is still feeling that hit he got right before the half. Come on lose with some class.
  24. Great game by Cleveland tonight..they just lined Barber up in the I and ran it down Central's throat. Sets up Maryville at Cleveland next week. Should be another great one.
  25. Lets get back to talking about the game here. There's been lots of talk about how Cleveland will fare against Central's D..but what will Central try to do against Cleveland's D? Cleveland's D has been the strong point of the team this year. They have loads of speed out there and are tough to run against. [Edited by MikeBleedsBlue on 11-14-02 6:09P]
