  1. Theres no way this team measures up to the talent level of the 2001 team. Heart can take you a long way, but you gotta have the skills.
  2. uh... is this a positive or negative post? I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about.
  3. Region 1A should get a little stronger next year, with Hampton dropping down from the 2a ranks. The Dawgs had a strong freshman class this year, but just didn't have the man-power to hang with the bigger 2A teams. Krich, are the rangers going to beef up their schedule next year? I understand (sort of) why they have played such a weak schedule the past couple of years, but now its time to see if they can take it to the next level. Should be an interesting year with Hampton/cloudland/Unaka battling for the #1 seed.
  4. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I see Oneida winning by at least 2 touchdowns.
  5. I believe the Dawgs have a shot at pullin' this one out if..... 1) They have zero fumbles 2) They can get pressure on the QB 3) stop those stupid penalties 4) Quit limpin' and start hittin'. In other words, the perfect game. The Dawgs have seemed to pick it up a notch since the 2nd half of the HV game, and I believe they can play with S. Greene.
  6. E-town over the devils, 32- 12 HV 45 Choke-a-duck 6 cloudland 32 JJ kelly 14 Sorry king, unaka wins big, 40 - 7 over jellico upset special.... Hampton over Rickers' runnin' rebels 21-20. (hampton is at home and noone in their right mind wants to travel to Alcoa in the first round).
  7. It's pretty obvious by his posts that lander33 holds an unhealthy grudge against Hampton. It could be, he had a little tougher time against hampton than he would care to admit. One thing is for sure, he is definitely not as classy as Byrd, Benfield, or the majority of roan mountain. Perhaps he is trying to relive his glory days?
  8. Pujo, I don't believe I read the article that you are referring to, but sometimes it is better to just leave things alone. There is a writer for the star, Rebecca pierson, who always gives you guys a good report, to the extent that I have had friends make comments that "she must be from cloudland". She writes very good articles, and I am not trying to slam her for this; I just wanted to point out that cloudland is not the whipping post that you make them out to be.
  9. I look for J.C. to be on the sidelines next year.
  10. Hv over the rebels Hampton squeaks by the gap E-town passes over the horns cloudland ain't oakdale....landers by 1 TD but should be a good one.
  11. Hampton showed some heart in the 2nd half against HV, lets hope it carries over to cumberland gap.
  12. Coulda been better, #58. Hampton decided to play in the 2nd half, showed some promise. I agree, that was a severely botched call with the runner ruled down without the ball. But there was also a questionable call in the first half, when an HV receiver bobbled the ball, and it appeared to touch the ground. It was ruled a catch, and HV went on to score. (this was a third and long play). The refs pretty much stinked it up all night. No doubt, HV had more talent friday night, so congratulations and we will see you in Hampton next year. Oh, the punt on third down is J.C.'s patented "Quick Kick"; when it is 3rd down and a bunch, he sometimes does this. Ogg saw it coming, he just couldn't get his man back down field in time to field the ball.
  13. I am glad Unaka has turned their program around (football), as I would be for any carter county team. But guys, your're doin' a whole lot of braggin' without much to show for it. If cloudland played against the teams you have, they would be undefeated too, and we would be looking at one heck of a showdown coming up. I admit, I wouldn't be too disapointed if you got some revenge over last years (uncalled for) drubbing. Congratulations on a winning season, and things are looking good on the creek. But win a play-off game, and then blow your horns and whistles.
  14. If Hampton continues to play uninspired football, they lose by 21 to HV; 'course, it is a rivalry, so anything could happen. Even the king could gain a hundred yards against cosby; cloudland wins big. Unaka might be looking ahead to cloudland, but still wins in a slightly closer contest than past games. E-town by 7. S-greene surprises G-P, by 7.
  15. Hampton should do very well in 1a next year. Finally back where they belong. They should win that conference with cloudland/unaka battling for second. Of course, cloudland and unaka will improve alot too, but I think the Dawgs have a slim advantage.
